Updated to the very latest build of SYNC 3.4 and used this guide to preserve my jailbreak - works 100% 👍👍 - but as Brian mentioned - you do have to reinstall your actual mods again afterwards.

Thank you for all the content and helpful vids! To prevent a new Sync version from auto-installing do we need to turn off auto-updates on Sync, or are these major updates only available thru a USB update? I just don't want to lose anything with an auto-update, but curious if that applies to this?

Hello I wanted to ask you for information by doing this update the lights of the pedal board always remain functional as before or are eliminated and in addition the navigator that is in the dashboard the one near the odometer that is connected with the Sync still works or even eliminerei too ?

mine says: Options = AutoInstall,Include,Transaction
So when you select non nav, that actually means you have nav? Or was the region you selected meaning where area where the vehicle was build

hello I have a problem with my module, I get the Ford emblem and then a black screen, I removed the battery for a few minutes, I reset Syng with diagnostics and again a black screen, the radio works, but I can't adjust the frequencies, the disc is inside and I can't get it in, but it reads it and my music plays did they have any way to flash the module and what the flashing is done with
Will my mods stay if i'm looking to my update my maps only?

I stuck with my upgrade after I watched this video.
I'm on 21020 build now, when checking cyanlabs guidance I can't upgrade sync from the latest version straight away.
First I have to create downgrade usb then I can upgrade to sync 21194 build.
I'm confused because you show this upgrade without downgrading.
Can I install the newest version straight away??
Second issue, I don't have emmc apim unlock done.
Can I use reformat script on my apim to preserve jailbrake??
Black screen will be the last thing O wish to see.

Hey Brian, brand new to Fmods (love you all). This is a breif question, i need to update sync build for all the new mods. In my MY20 Escape i’ve enabled everything in forscan to get me full self driving that comes standard in MY21+. Will these APIM settings be wiped, or worse, will the cause problems in the rest of the modules?
Is there a way to change the boot up animation/logo with fmods? Would be sooo sick! I love the videos and how easy these mods seem. Good work on the production

Other than that it makes a whole bunch of mods stop working, no 😅 I'd hold off
@@NaviUpgrade good to know - I was hoping that upgrading might allow me to install the hack that puts the calm screen etc soft buttons on the top menu bar - said it was incompatible with my current version 21194……🤔🤔
Say one accidental ran reformat on a my2020 or higher how can one fix it
Hmmm, FMods guys know a lot more about that than me, but I believe the consensus is you can try using an older display that uses the older drivers... or if you can get your hands on another 2020, you can pull all the data off via an eMMC reader and put it all back onto the bricked unit
Has anyone had the issue they plug in their USB it says updating system software but just never does anything else ? I've had it running for 40 minutes and it still won't finish. Done a master reset as well to no avail.
I'm having the same issue. Sync 3.4 version 22251 is the current version. With the update file when I insert the USB it says updating and goes on forever. Kindly help
Hi! i updated to sync 3.4 19200 last year and now i would like to update to a newer version like to 3.4 21194 and start installing mods, , but i am not able to do this. After downloading the files with Syncupdater several times and put the usb in the car, it keeps with the message "installing software update..." but it actually do nothing. i left it on for about 55minutes and nothing. is there any other way to do the upgrade? or should i leave with current version for ever?? :(. thanks for your help. (PS: i don´t have jailbreak installed at all)
Do a master reset first and after it completes and reboots, then go ahead and install your Sync Update
I'm having the same problem did a master reset and still not working gonna try resetting maybe twice in a row and then try again
Help me with a solution! Unknowingly i’ve flashed 3.4 latest version (non nav) previous is 3.4 20136 and most of the time i am getting only blank screen! How can go back to normal! Now this system become unreliable and sometimes it works and sometimes only blank screen!
Follow the same procedure but put in your new version number and then select an older build number to downgrade to. What year is your vehicle?

Yessir... You'll also need to reinstall any mods you have installed

I currently have a 2013 F-250 with Sync2. If I do the upgrade to the Sync3 module, can I use the jailbreak the same way?

@@NaviUpgrade ok cool. Another question: I've seen the USB hubs with one USB-A port and one USB-C port. Could I use one of those instead of the one with 2 USB-A's? I'd rather have USB-C if that's possible.

It's the same as the ones we use for the standard conversion. If you end up purchasing from us leave note and I'll leave out and refund the hub 👍

i find it very difficult to follow along with you, can you please magnify the screen so we can see exactly what it is you're clicking on, saying click this or click here means nothing to me. i quickly find myself not watching the entire video frustrated. every video is the same.
Thank you for the feedback - did some research and bought a screen recording software that shows clicks and zooms in on areas.

Really it's an "add-on" harness to the original 4" to 8" conversion harness that adds a 3.5mm microphone input jack and taps all signal needed to run Sync 3 from your OBD2 port. I'd love to film a video on this but it's crazy how hard that version of the car is to come by... If you're close to Los Angeles and want me to do it I'd be happy to do it and subsidize it quite a bit in trade for the opportunity to make a video 😅
Do you have the Focus base model that has even less than SYNC/MFT ??
