- Sync 3.4 is the latest sync system and it is very easy to upgrade to sync 3.4. Sync 3 system offers auto-update feature as long as you are connected to Wi-Fi. Auto updating your Sync 3 features allows you to to ensure you are running the latest sync system.
Sync 3.3 is what came with my mustang, but I upgraded to sync 3.4 via the auto update. Auto update for Sync 3 allows you to always stay up to date on your Sync system.

Just a note that the Wi-Fi I believe is in the 2.4GHz frequency band. Reason for this is that the 2.4GHz band seems to give better Wi-Fi distance/penetration of structural obstructions. The 5GHz band may be fast, but I have noticed some reduced performance as distance is increased. The 5GHz works best with a multi-point mesh style network.
Yup that’s a good point! 5ghz is faster but nowhere near the range of 2.4. Our router is in the basement so sometimes 5 doesn’t reach all the way to the top
I have my WiFi connected from my hotspot but when I scan for updates nothing appears for me to get and update it just says last checked for updates but nothing help?
It might be that officially your vehicle isn't receiving anymore updates. You can try my cyanlabs video to update.
Mine just hangs on scanning for updates and never completes. Shite.

@@Red5oh Yeah it's good. 500Mb internet connection. I went and did the Cyan method and it worked. Be interesting to know why some cars just won't update though. Probably a url is wrong somewhere in the software.
What does sync 3.4 have that 3.0 doesn't? And is it really necessary to keep the engine running, or can I just leave the ignition on without the engine running?
Newer look and for me i noted heated steering wheel option in climate instead of having to access it manually. Not many new feature but improved look and is more responsive. As far as update you can turn it off but I suggest leaving it on so no issues arise mid uodate if your vehicle gets disconnected from wifi
I keep getting an error instl_err12 whenever I try it update.
I tried two different hard drives. Just doesn’t work.

I upgraded to 3.4 and now the compas is not working
The gps? The update it self should not have any impact on it
I cant get mine to bring up 3.4. It scans for a couple minutes and then just stops. My wifi connection is good. Do you have any advice? Thanks!
