- I mount a riding lawnmower into a boat. I add paddles that are powered by the lawnmower that provide forward and backward motion for the boat. I also rig a system that allows me to steer it using the steering wheel of the lawnmower. A one of a kind thing for sure!
Please consider Subscribing and liking the video. Also leave a comment giving me your thoughts on this crazy rig!
Thanks,

Your video is blowing up! Awesome! I wanna come see your next project!
Good morning, I'll let you know when I get it done. Thanks for your support.
Most definitely some good engineering there
Hahaa, some pretty rigged work I'd say! Thanks for watching and the comments. If you haven't done so already please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
Nice! I enjoyed watching your boat project.
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I'm glad you found it entertaining. You may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS Oh I did subscribe. Enjoying your videos.
Thanks! I really do appreciate you.
You got skills and a good imagination. Thanks for showing us your boat/mower combo. Can you attach a GoPro on the front and show us more of the beautiful lake, please?
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. It was a fun project. I'll be doing another video with a zero turn mower on the boat. I'll get some more video of the lake. It is Lake Logan Martin near Birmingham Alabama. Either way I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.
Awesome! Found a clip of this on Facebook and looked up your channel that is written on the side of the boat. Pretty cool! I live in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I really appreciate the trouble you went to to find my channel. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS you got it! Will do that now.
Thanks!!
Something I never would have thought of. 😁 Now mess with sprocket size and see how fast you can get it going.
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I have 5 speeds thru the transmission of the lawnmower but in 5th it did go faster but also dumped a lot of water into the boat. I need shields to prevent that. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.
This is awesome! You’re a smart guy. Must have a beautiful wife!
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. Yes I do. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
Wow just wow. Sandy sent me. You are still a master inventor. Great job. You e always been able to create anything from nothing.
Thank you Manuela!
This is really cool
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It was a fun project. I'm planning on putting a zero turn in there next. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
That's fantastic. Great job!
Thank you very much for the kind comment! I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hit the like button. I would really appreciate that. Thanks again.
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS Your welcome. I think it's brilliant.
@kevinfaherty9887 .
Great Video! Really enjoyed watching the build and seeing this project come to fruition.

We were having a get together last weekend and I saw that crazy thing Saturday. My friends and I were quite mesmerized by it! That’s awesome man!
Hey, you probably saw me on it. I don't live on the lake but my brother does. I really appreciate the comments and glad you liked the "crazy thing". Do me a favor if you haven't already, please subscribe and ask your friends to do so as well. Thanks again.
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS I did subscribe, and I have shared this video with all 30 of the people that were at my place that day. Next time I see you out in it, I’ll be the guy flagging you down like a mad man! I need a closer look at that! Well done sir, well done.
I really appreciate your susbscription! Thanks for sharing also. Yes, wave me down for sure. I'll even let you take it for a spin!
Excellent video Randolph Macgyver!
Thanks! I'm slowly getting there on CZcams.
I just saw your boat on Facebook so I had to come subscribe 😂
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I really appreciate the subscription also!
Awesome idea, but do you think the pipe and axle rubbing the wood could be a fire hazzard? Could there be some kind of roller bearings that could fit the gap between the wood and axle/pipe? Might even reduce the resistance and give you a little more power
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I wasn't too concerned. I greased them up pretty good plus the water splashing occasionally on them kept them cool. But I agree bearings would have been much better. I have removed that mower from the boat and preparing to put a zero turn in it. Either way I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
My only question is how did you build your paddle arrangement attachment assembly? That's the only thing unclear..
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. For the paddles I used 2 round thick pieces of plastic. They are white early in the video. I then drilled a pattern of holes that would give me 6 paddles per side. I used the holes as a guide to place the 24" long 2x4s. I attached all the 2x4s to those 2 plastic discs. I cut rectangler pieces of plywood and attached to the ends of the 2x4s. I bought pipe flanges and attached to each side of the paddle assembly. This slid into the pipe. I drilled through the flanges into the pipe where I used a bolt to attach the whole thing to the pipe. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it. Thanks
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS I did and Thanks... That solves that I'm going to Steal this I hope you don't mind...
No I don't mind at all. Let me know how the build of your goes. Good luck!
I’ll subscribe if you promise to build one out of a zero turn mower so you can shorten it by half and do away with that goofy steering system and most of the wood you could spin it on a dime with the zero drive and no steering wheel. I just got out of the hospital with a bad heart or I would do it myself you did a great job with what you had somebody on here ought to have an old zero with no deck for cheap.
I've already considered it. As you can tell I'm old guy and live on the cheap 😉. I have an Exmark and just mentioned using it to my wife. You can imagine the response. It is in my mind though. I agree it would be much simpler to deal with. I can't promise I'll do it, but certainly will if I can come up with the goods. Thanks for watching and the comments. I really appreciate it! Ahh, what the heck, go ahead and Subscribe..
You talked me into it
I really appreciate it and will work toward the zero turn boat. Thanks
How fast is it?
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. It uses the transmission of the mower giving me 5 forward and reverse. The problem i was having was that in the higher gears it threw a lot of water into the boat. So it wasn't very fast at all. You may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS I wonder if turning the fins in an outward throwing position, it would put less water in the boat?
@@CJrekrap yeah I wondered that too. I'm already working on the next version. I'm going to use a zero turn. I'll do away with the rudder. I'm also going to make the paddles larger. I'm going to add a bilge pump to take care of the water getting into the boat. Stay tuned 😉
Fb brought me here
