    I am getting ready to replace 80 year old siding ( it did not leak) with vinyl and I too am concerned water will not return to the outside along the windows etc. . The standard way to install at ends of vinyl siding seems very risky and leaks are likely, almost certain. I like your idea but want to go further as water can still run behind the siding and could end up running off the vinyl to the wall. I don't like hoping and praying to prevent leaks. (which god should i pray too for leak prevention?) I want to be positive no water can enter the wall so I get at least 30 years on trash bag siding.

      Hi thanks for watching and the comments. The way my windows were designed in an effort to eliminate the "J" channel around us horrible. As you could see there was no way that they wouldn't leak. I think that within a few years there will be huge lawsuits regarding vinyl siding. The installers really don't care and know they won't be anywhere around when problems start showing for home owners. Either way I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.

    First I’ve seen where someone removes the plastic side piece that covers the screws. Looks like you lined up the tape with the bottom of the channel for the plastic trim. ?? I’m doing it this weekend. Been iffy about sticking the tape on that plastic trim. I’m gonna remove it and lay it on like you did. Thanks for posting!

    • @NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS
      @NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS Před 13 dny

      Hi thanks for watching and the comments. Yeah, my thoughts are the screws going thru the aluminum channel are an excellent source for a leak. They penetrate thru the extrusion and thru the roofing material. Usually there is only a small bead of caulk that seals the top edge of the extrusion. I pulled out the plastic strip that covers the screws and covered them with the tape. It might choke down the small gutter a little but they clog easily anyway. Good luck with your project. apparently all you have to do is drill one or two small holes in the back of the speedometer (through the white plastic) so long as you are careful not to drill into any electronics. you can hold a bright LED light against the housing to see the shadow of electronics boards. the hole(s) allows the speedometer to breath and release the moisture.

That and the bearings, shaft and bolts is all the cost I had in it. So, total cost near $100. I designed and built it because that's what I do and enjoy seeing my ideas come to life. What about sound? I would have liked to have heard it.. I want to add a paddlewheel to a pontoon. My first thoughts were an electric hub motor on a bike rim with a belt drive,but then it wouldn't have reverse, then i thought maybe a golf cart motor,but,i think the plan of a solar powered paddle boat may be a tad over complicated.. i think i may just go this route,but use a smaller atv,but with a sternwheel instead of side.. plus, there's a lot of quieter exhaust pipes available for it... great idea.

      @@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS I've already subscribed since I saw you decide to fix the rust instead of junking the car like everyone was trying to get u to do or part it out saying that it wasn't worth it but you're like me and saw potential in the car and when it's not going to be all that hard to fix that lil bit of rust in the cowl and the floors . The rest of the car seems to be in pretty good shape and it won't be that bad to fix up. I like the little car myself ⁰

    I just subscribed to you, with all of the ppl saying scrap it and only 1 of me hoping to see u save it and you actually decided to that was deserving of a sub. I can't wait to see it fixed and up and running again. You're going to love that thing when you get it finished and what you're fixing will never be seen and may end up better or stronger than factory because we tend to over do things sometimes 😂 that rat pee is probably what caused the rust . I'll be keeping up with this thing and thanks for saving it and not taking the lazý way out and parting it out. Its ģoing to be a fun project and fun car to drive when you get it finished with it. I love my 79 pinto that I put v8 stroker 347 in it and it's too much fun

      Hi thanks for watching, commenting and especially Subscribing. Yeah I know I will love it and look forward to the day I have it completed. My first car was a 1972 Runabout just like this one only it was a stick shift. My wife and I dated in it back then. I had several people tell me to put a V8 in it, but I'm just going back with the 2.0. I went to your CZcams channel and checked out some of your videos. Nice ride for sure! I also Subscribed! Thanks again.

    There must be plenty of space between the pistons & the valves & doing the timing belt wrong with most other engine would be a bent valve or 2.

      Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I'm not sure if the engine is a non-contact engine or not. I guess if it is I was lucky and apparently where I had it out of time was still at a point to where the valves wouldn't hit the top of the pistons..
