The Best Slice of Pizza in LA: Chef's Night Out with Pizzanista!

- You often hear people lament that you can't get a good slice of pizza in LA-and for the most part, that's true. Except in the case of Pizzanista!, a pizza place in the city's arts district started by former pro skateboarder Salman Agah and his wife Price.
We follow Salman and Price for a night out in LA as they hit up some of their favorite local spots. First, we head to Roy Choi's new restaurant Commissary at the Line Hotel, where the group sips on drinks and chows down on some interesting vegetables described as "carrots that taste like hot dogs." Then it's off to Ruen Pair for the papaya salad that Salman swears by. Our last stop is Monty Bar for drinks, and then it's back to Pizzanista!, where Price celebrates her birthday by cooking up a stinging nettle pizza for their friends.

I also respect how they didn't feel the need to get all drunk and high just to look hip, like most of the other groups have. Kept it quiet and relaxed, my style.
It seems like these people own a pizza place that allows them to still go out at night or on the weekends. The other episodes seem to have executive chefs from huge restaurants that appear to have way less time off since they always mention how "this is the first time I've been out in months " do I feel like they go a little more wild with their nights. Also those episodes are way better cause they were more loose on camera and actually drunk/funny
Andrew Norton I like the other episodes, they're entertaining. I just identify with the laid-back scene here and it's not so posh and look how rich and hip we are, as in most of the others.
aappierce Oh yeah these people are way more relatable but personally I like watching people do outlandish things and eat places I can't instead of watching some people do the same stuff I do every weekend.
I hear you. I def admit the excitement level has been greater and the tour of restaurants much more classy and high-end in every other ep. These guys went to a dive-looking Thai place that looks like the places my wife and I frequent. And they just ordered like reg paying customers with no camera crew. Weird switch-up from the norm, if refreshing.
Andrew Norton i felt cheated b/c they didn't have a scene where they stopped in to a Circle K for some ChapStick and a Sunny D...
Oh shit, it's Dominic Decoco
+Jimmy Steve Jack Scuse' me could you repeat that?
+Jimmy Steve Jack bravo!
Oh, your wife went to art school? I couldn't tell.
HAHAHAHA
***** rekt
You guys just got shrekt m8$
AmsterdamVallon haha, right!? looks like a shitty version of kelly slater...

What kind of fucked up shit had to happen to this woman for her to feel the need to dress up like a vampire wizard.
the point of being different than anyone else no matter the cost...
Vampire wizard is an accurate description indeed, lol.
Looks like that lady from the Adams Family. Is she a vampire wizard?
She probably just wanted to! Good for her.
Says the fucking werewolf
Fuck this shit. Ima just get myself a box of little caesars
The pretzel crust is back!!!
I used to skate with Salman when I was flow for RVCA. That's crazy he ended up in the restaurant biz. Good on him.
All the locations were great and I'm glad to see a skater that didn't burn out hard.
Half the people watching this don't know how much of a legend Salman is!
I bet it's more than half
That's the god father of switch skating right there. Dude has done more for skateboarding than can be put into words.
"We're a skateboard company that makes skateboards that you eat as opposed to ones that you ride." ...................wut?
I still like you guys and your pizza. That one line just blew my MIND. 0_0
That went directly into my top five stupidest things that i've ever heard. And please don't tell me "you're just not deep enough bro" or "it's art in words bro" or some shit like that.
Bwahaha makes total sense...
i think its funny he said that shit LOL
Joke?
Dudes wife looks like the guy from the Mighty Boosh
Axel V. I didn’t know who that was but then I googled!😂😂😂😂you nailed it!
😂😂😂
Best memory of working at a pizza place. The pizza paddle. Playing it like a guitar, fanning co-workers..
These are some weird ass people.
And those two schlumphs/hangers on..."Oh, and you might know him from "Inglorious Basterds" Yes, and I was in the parking lot outside the Super Bowl in 2011 - maybe you remember me too - Blue hat? No? Really? ...And the the fat guy - "DJ Hungry Lunch" what is he good for other than blocking shots and camera angles? He is big enuff to have a show like those other two fat douches VICE has signed on. The Islamic Rapper/Glutton who cannot rap but likes to waddle around the streets after a "show" and the Canadian slob who has more ink than Alice Cooper.
Kevin Bullard
Omar had a speaking role tho
+UrbanCrunkMovement. Yeah but rather unremarkable
[insert smart ass troll comment here]
Not in a good way
I can't unsee her as Noel Fielding????? Say I'm old greg just once please.
Mm baileys...
"So I'll just order the cauluhflower"
Perfect.
That window idea is really cool actually lol helps out both restaurants
I can see why LA has such a bad rep for pizza if this is the best slice of pizza in LA
AKABoondock19 This is Vice's claim. Native Angelinos avoid these hipster ass places. All these hipsters come from other states and invade my city. Big Mama's and Papa's is one of the best pizza places in LA. And it's hipster free.
AKABoondock19
Mulberry
Franky and Johnny's
Village Pizzeria
Big Mamas and Papas
Rainbow Room has a real good pizza pie too.
Your problem is that you think Munchies is a good resource for food.
There's much better spots... this is just for hipsters. Worst thing about Pizzanista is they close hours before the bar next door, so you can't even get a late night bite. Some city, huh?
Ruen Pair is legit though!
I just had the pizza 4 days ago and it's a OK pizza. I don't see why its getting so much attention. I grew up on NYC pizza and this doesn't even come close to it.
these people were goofy but it still made me smile. that cilantro and soppresata, and chilli pepper pizza looked sooooo good
I got a weird vibe from this episode. Anyone else?
Do you think they gangbanged? I think they all pulled down their pants and had a sexual party.
ha ha I didn't get that vibe; but hey, anything is possible.
Snackchez thru a window no less
Snackchez right when I read you saying gangbang she asked "do you have morning glory right now?"
I did to..... I only went through the comments to see if anyone else felt the same way...the vibe is off putting
she sorta reminds me of Vince from the mighty boosh :P
best comment i've seen
😂🤣 underrated comment.
That champagne joke really got the table crackin up
LMAO
The eggplant dish at The Commissary is one of the best things i've ever eaten. I'm very picky about my NY pizza, but Salman Agah is legendary. Definitely gotta check his spot out next time i'm in LA
Day off work and been binging on Chefs Night Out. Fuckin loved this series back in the day..
This guy is a skate legend.
Gordon Ramsey sees the menu drawings and walks out muttering, fuck me!
There restaurant is exactly what I have been searching for. They are keeping it simple, which is awesome.
That was great! Kicked out of Everywhere is still such a great video. Glad to see Salman doing so well.
Just re-watched this and its still good.
They seem like they have a combined IQ of 50, yet they own a restaurant business. Sometimes I really don't understand! Maybe I'm the dumb one :)
Who ever said you need education to be successful obviously wasn't a hard worker!
i can see some 'White Trash Approach' too, but actually they are open minded and they try new stuff - Not the usual 'over-the-top-intense-people-munchies-episode', but enjoyable.
And how can you not love the pizza glory hole???
Roman philips Its not just that - I mean that (at least where I'm from) running a business is a ton of legalese and paperwork, logistics, money knowhow, etc etc
YOU'RE THE DUMB ONE
Maybe i need to open a restaurant. The business i'm trying to open requires a lot of experience before the state even allows me to apply to open the business.
Your wife went to art school? Really? I couldn't tell
She looks like typical LA trash dude...
@@skateboards5298 I live in europe and for some reason I find those loudmouth new yorkers way more compelling and fun to be around than fake LA people. Again I dont want to offend anyone but thats how it translates to me from these videos. Its almost like new yorkers wont let you get away with egocentric shit and put you right on your place and down to earth. I could be wrong but thats how it comes to me.
@@Markuden This is basically 100% correct.
New York hipsters are pretty bad too, but L.A. goblins like these people take the cake.
Why do I always watch these when I'm hungru
I'm glad there are shows like this, because it lets me know where not to go. thanks!
[ D3DNS1D3 ] yea I would kms after spending a night with them
You must be broke
@@bobbyhill1013 six years ago, yes
not really sure how I feel about the guy blowing on my pizza 1:08
I'm glad the camera man got that....that is how disease spread!
At home that's usually what you do because it makes the pizza slide from the peel a lot easier, but I don't think that's accepted to do in restaurants due to health regulations...
@@Mochab001 Could you imagine that nowadays😂
He does that for a lot o things
Yes ! Finally L.A. love those places, good for chilling out
How did the hipster burn it's mouth?.... he ate the pizza before it was cool. *ba dum tss*
a restaurant specializing in pizza without a stone wood fire oven...bullshit place.
i hate these pseudo hipster 'pizza' places that put shit like brussel sprouts and duck confit on a pizza
I can conceive those hipster pizza could work. but the essential of any good pizza place is wood fire stone oven. check out heston blumenthal's perfect pizza video.
Terry Hsiao Even if they did have one their pizzas would still taste like shit.
Terry Hsiao That pizza looks good as fuck though.
Bill G Parkhurst III well. One of the most important part of a good pizza is TEXTURE of the crust itself. Without an adequate oven, no matter how great the topping, cheese...the crust will always be missing
This really made me want a nice fresh slice!!!
When I was skating as a 13 year old at a skatepark in Madera, CA, Salman Agah showed up. Me and my friends asked if he would sign some stuff, and he signed my shoe. Good to know he's still doing cool shit.
"We make good pizza! We are PIZZANISTAS!"
A whole shelf of canned smart and final tomato sauce sits in the background.
"You may know him from Inglorious Bastards.".... or from nothing
Oh no no no, what happened with the nice pizza guy from the other videos?
This isnt The Pizza Show. This is Chefs Night Out.
Love this couple :)
I'm gonna in LA this summer 4 Couple of days and I will try to find these Restaurants...nice locations and obviously awesome food.
You guys should do a chefs night out with beer belly!
I can't believe I walked right past this place. I should've gone in! Now I have to go back to LA again to eat here!
Homie with the Mohawk looks like he's to cool for school.
+YOUNG THUGGER TENDERONI nigga you look like youre too cool for school lol
well, i wasn't expecting the stinging nettle. good show!
That greenhouse is amazing! Bucket listed.
The pizzanista looks so rad.
And hella cool
Scooby dooderino Looks are deceiving. They're shit.
Dude looks like one of the best point guards to come out of France... TP!!!!!
The best pizza in LA isn't cooked in a proper pizza oven?
AlbanZap but they have pretty pizza boxes........
A nice fun episode !
His wife looks like a missing character from The Addams Family. Besides that they seem like genuine chill folks. Not trying too hard to be who they're not like most the hipsters featured on the show.
Nothing beats Frank Pinello's munchies video about pizza.
How'd the get Elvira's daughter to do a segment?
Thank God they found each other
It's Dominic Decoco!
Gotta go there some day..
Best pizza in LA is in my kitchen, and it keeps getting better!
Actually Salman is one of the nicest dudes I've met. I'm stoked you are doing big things brother. Next time I'm in LA, I'm coming to get some PizzaNista!! Coarsegold LIL Mac!!!
whats the song that plays when theyre at the bar? sound like i feel love
dont mean to burst yur bubble but basically every where in LA does pizza by the slice unless its dominoes or California pizza kitchen
Good show! These two are cool
Jeez, his wife looks like she's 60+
if I was starving to death you still couldn't pat me to eat with these people
Bro I was High as Fukkk when I went to that Pizza spot in LA a year ago!!!
+Hecameup Bro you are so cool for that bro
JaQuan Jones
Always
+JaQuan Jones lol
+Hecameup Was it the dankness?
***** damn bruh you're cooler than the original commenter
His wife looks like a monster straight outta Bloodborne
Just a So So episode. Props to their pizza business, where they seem creative and innovative. Other than that, it wasn't an episode of Munchies, it was an episode of Goth Hipsters Descending on the Night.
Why is this guy married to Vince Noir?
lol
I think she's transgender...?
lol so true!
Now I know that the restaurant where I puked after a night of drinking is called Ruen Pair!
Their pizza looks delicious
A spider web tattoo on your elbow means that you are a sex doll for prisoners.
And one of the those foam sex dolls not an inflatable
In just watching Dominic Dicoco wear eyeliner and eat Thai food and pizza
Best thing I've ever saw
Wow these guys are talent vacuums.......
That guys sweater is so cool where can I get one?
aw why am I watching this? Dammit I'm hungry!
When the music makes you think of spongebob 😅
I'm a native Los Angelino, and this place is pretty good. Especially with Tony's happy hour.

HIPSTERVILLE GONE WILD
'Everything sounds so good.' Looking at pictures. Oh god
I wish I found out about this place when I visited my aunt in LA
Your aunt is an introvert skateboarder?
legendddddd
The Michael White episode was amazing. this doesn't even get near it
From breaking bat show right
Tasty pizza in kool boxes; i like it
Good episode. Pizza looked awesome, and $2 a slice ain't too bad. And fuuuck those hashbrowns at the Commissary place looked soo good.
Is this place still opened?
gee, LA...gee...zero fox. Been to LA multiple times...if i rocked a skateboard for a living perhaps I'd appreciate this. But I appreciate quality.
Man those two must really like spiderwebs..
they were kind of boring. pizza looks bomb though, definitely gonna go there next time im in LA
They remind me of a crime gang masquerading as a band that I remember from an episode of Scooby Doo
legendary skateboarder: salman agah!
the comments on this video are fu... hilarious !
Definitely a bit curious about Ruenpair.
After seeing that frying pan, i know why the carrots tasted like hot dogs :)

What the actual fuck?!
