Wow, I really need to work on being on camera. Anyway, here's 30 minutes of me talking about creepy puppet art. / mistysparkles www.paypal.me/sparklemisty
That puts it into perspective very well, im so happy dhmis is back i love it so much. Now to make my girlfriend watch the entirety of season 1's dry ass, deadpan ass, VERY BRITISH humor, subtitled in english (because we're not from an english speaking country and she has limited understanding of the language). I showed her a bit of Jobs, the first episode of Season 2. She liked it! I think she might the rest then :)
I attended a BFI filmmaking course last year, and Baker Terry did a talk about DHMIS. The artistry behind that whole series is really something else. One thing that he spoke about was the office scene in DHMIS 6. Apparently it was a real disused office, and was a total pain to light. They only had a few cubicle panels, and had to shoot incredibly carefully and move things between shots to make it look like they had more. He didn't really speak about the pilot (I think he mentioned something about going to LA to get a company to pick it up? It was a long time ago) He did show us a clip from an Angry Birds thing that they were working on though, and that was pretty neat.
I’ve never watched dhmis but on 27:17 in some of the screenshots when tony has his hands on his hips and is angry but his mouth is closed. He looks like a judgy parent who is disappointed in they’re child
Also hey misty! I love you’re art and I hope life treats ya well! I may not know you but I found you recently and I love you’re stuff! So hope you have a good night/day. Same with everyone remember that self care is important and how about if you can go take a warm bath or just relax for a little!
I LOVE this Video. Also: 1. I want that shirt 2. I want that poster 3. Dvd. I want it. 4. Did you MAKE those puppets? plushies? whatever they are. Good job! Love this.
"He sounds like im tied up in his basement and im about to get tortured, but he really just wants to talk to me about slenderman webseries." EXACTLYYY and thats why i love his videos so much his voice is the only one i can stand for longer than 2 videos
This makes me really happy, because the sheer quality and skill that went into these videos is fascinating to dissect. A lot of people don't realize just how complicated these videos were to create, and I appreciate you taking the time to point out all of these things a lot of people don't notice.
I don’t even know DHMIS but you have one of the best natural comedic senses I’ve ever heard from someone just casually talking, and I not only thoroughly enjoyed the video just from your own humor and cool analysis, but I now want to actually watch the series so I can appreciate these details even more
u got a type of voice that is pleasant to listen to, I'd love to see more videos of you just talking about things u like and are passionate about at great length.
Wait! So you are telling me all of these guys had actual names like Tony and Collin but the Meat Man from episode fives is just actually named Meat Man? Also Puppets are the wierdest form of animation full of bizzare little techniques and methods.
Yes! I watch night mind! :D I had actually watched his video first because I'm a scared wimp that wouldn't watch the actual series. Only to find out it's not that scary when watching it was explained and then seeing the actual series 2 months afterward. Nick Nocturne (night mind) has a really good voice and he goes really in depth on his analysis for each vid more than other "explained" vids I've seen.
I'm also a large DHMIS fan. I first stumbled upon it when i was about 10 years old, thinking it was a regular childrens's show. It didn't traumatize me however, i was more worried about the other kids who would possibly watch it and get scarred for life. Later i delved into the DHMIS rabbit hole and became a huge fan. Since then i have watched every episode (including the new TV ones, and even those leaked parts of the unreleased Wakey Wakey show).
this video activated my brain and made me start crying because i was suddenly overcome with how much i love the funny puppets and the craftsmanship put into making them and the sets and the songs and the themes and the everythign else
i am SO glad i found your channel because i honestly love all these rambles. i never see many people talk about the little parts of niche subjects that i also happen to be interested in lol
I'm very much in love with the characters and the artistically creative world they come from and I think the little details like the ones you talked about in the video are amazing^^
I have no one to talk about this. My mom loves Jim Henson, puppeteering techniques, but doesn’t like don’t hug me. I’m scared, and my friends like don’t hug me I’m scared, but they don’t know anything about puppeteering techniques.
"i don't know if you can tell but i'm a really big fan of don't hug me i'm scared" **literally has a time shirt, tony and sketchook in the background, a lamp hat, and other bunch of stuff**
25:12 for the record, you can kinda find the pilot on youtube. Someone compiled footage from a convention it was in into most of the episode and explained what there was no footage of
I have an idea for the broken glass bottle in the time episode, basically in the teaser for episode too clock guy says “EVERYONE RUNS OUT OF TIME!” so maybe he killed some one and said that in a deleted scene.
i have memorized every single song including the security one. a nd have made tony and drew all the characters and made my sketchbook into sketchbook. also forced my freinds to watch it start to finish. (one thought tony was terrifying) and uh. know every bit of lore there is to know. do i count?
I know how much it may seem like a bad idea to you but you have inspired me to make videos just like yours! In which I literally just say my opinion and nerd over stuff on camera with visuals and text!
first shot of the video and its an absolute fucking legend casually adjusting tony the fucking tumblr sexyclock in the background like it's nobody's business, getting ready to talk about the greatest webseries turned show. glad to be alive to see it
What do you think of the TV show now? This was so entertaining i would love another long deep dive from you and hearing your thoughts! It was so awesome watching this I love your humor
I remember I first watched it in year 5, around 10 years old, and put small kid zach, who was know for suggesting strange funny videos like breakfast Burrito, back in year 4, we watched the first one on wet break and we thought I was funny and fine and the start, but then came the creepy stuff, we watched like 2 episodes in random order then we watched the 5th, when green duck died, the teacher just clicked off. Wow. :>
Two years late but another fun series to sink your production history teeth into is the model series of thomas the tank engine. It was really the first time a show was made with model trains like that and they had a few failed attempts along the way, so if you ever need a rabbit hole to go down there's that
this video was made specifically for 11 year old me who was obsessed with dhmis and made all my friends watch it and i thoroughly appreciate that
Same
LITERALLY ME WHEN I WAS 11
@@loof8713 me too
My god same !!
I got back to the brainrot resently
Im very glad that season 2 happend.

i love how people think it takes a few months for a pilot to kick off
let alone a p u p p e t show
Have you seen the kind off behind the scenes stuff for like muppets or even Sesame street if not go look it's hard, not to mention the writing.
Well all and every show even short film is hard to make, hazbin hotel took 5 years to make
If you want to know what Toby's arms are made of, it's rubber tubing covered by a meshlike cloth.
I used to make puppets.

I’m gonna watch it in the morning cause rn it’s 12 am and I’m not gonna stay up all night cause I watched something scary.
Also hey misty! I love you’re art and I hope life treats ya well! I may not know you but I found you recently and I love you’re stuff! So hope you have a good night/day. Same with everyone remember that self care is important and how about if you can go take a warm bath or just relax for a little!
Reuben Bailey I see it!
omg yea i kr
Pfff-
Oh how wrong you are. I care immensely for minor details about a horror youtube art project that ended years ago
it is back
@@wendysbreakfast2763 IT ALWAYS COMES BACK

Out of all the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared "details" content put out there, this video is genuinely my favorite
You look cute!
Those props you’ve made are absolutely spot-on, my first thought was that you had somehow gotten hold of some of the shooting puppets.
This makes me really happy, because the sheer quality and skill that went into these videos is fascinating to dissect. A lot of people don't realize just how complicated these videos were to create, and I appreciate you taking the time to point out all of these things a lot of people don't notice.
Ok these were actually really cool, i never noticed the blinking thing.
"none of the other teachers blink" literally an entire line about "Collin" the computer blinking
This is one thing you can watch when you make dhmis puppets, and have adhd,
I don’t even know DHMIS but you have one of the best natural comedic senses I’ve ever heard from someone just casually talking, and I not only thoroughly enjoyed the video just from your own humor and cool analysis, but I now want to actually watch the series so I can appreciate these details even more

your passion means the world to me
Fun fact: not only that Baker Terry voices yellow guy, Duck, Tony, and shrignold. But he also voices Colin, the Meatman, and the lamp as well.
Ik this was 2 years ago and all, but surprisingly, colin was voiced joe pelling
@@spurrit7156 Oh, funny thing about that, I found out Colin was in fact voice by Joe Pelling just a mouth ago.
Wait! So you are telling me all of these guys had actual names like Tony and Collin but the Meat Man from episode fives is just actually named Meat Man?

Love the ace pin, very acethetic, acetanding. I'm also a lil ace dhmis fan
Sketchbook is traumatized by the first episode and now her eyes are crossed in 6
this video activated my brain and made me start crying because i was suddenly overcome with how much i love the funny puppets and the craftsmanship put into making them and the sets and the songs and the themes and the everythign else

DHMIS or as I like to call it "the hummus"
WHO THE HELL MADE FUN OF YOUR VOICE THEY DISERVES 100 HOURS IN MALCOLMS PUNISHMENT BOX!!
I'm very much in love with the characters and the artistically creative world they come from and I think the little details like the ones you talked about in the video are amazing^^
Why is no one talking about the meta knight plushie?
It's adorable
Shrignold's voice pitched down is so cursed to me and I don't know why that voice just doesn't fit him
Your comics on tumblr helped me stick with the fandom, your art is amazing in my opinion!!!
this is one of the first videos over 30 minutes i watched all the way through without pausing or anything omg i love u-
this made me even more excited that the show was FINALLY announced to be coming out soon
I have no one to talk about this. My mom loves Jim Henson, puppeteering techniques, but doesn’t like don’t hug me. I’m scared, and my friends like don’t hug me I’m scared, but they don’t know anything about puppeteering techniques.
Haha i have been waiting for this!!!
Goodness I love any and everything you make, I hope you enjoy making this content as much as I adore watching you
Finally another don’t hug me nerd! Thank you for this, it’s definitely my new favourite video on the internet
I came here after I saw Roy on top of the set in 5, and I learned so much more than I expected, thank you!
I'd been hoping that someone would make a video about the puppets and stuff, and I'm glad I just happened to find one!
i would give you my lifes savings for the mini key man you made at the end

Don't hug me I'm scared is probably the best shit that two people can do with puppets.
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR 2 YEARS
I agree, night minds video on it is pretty neat! love his silky, baritone voice.
Man-Shrignold will always haunt me
Baker Terry literally carries the voice team
This was great, please make more.
32:15 I love this cover of urs!!
I have an idea for the broken glass bottle in the time episode, basically in the teaser for episode too clock guy says “EVERYONE RUNS OUT OF TIME!” so maybe he killed some one and said that in a deleted scene.
This is abouslety magnificent

the puppet from DHMIS 2 is my favorite Yellow guy. he just looks so adorable.
I know how much it may seem like a bad idea to you but you have inspired me to make videos just like yours! In which I literally just say my opinion and nerd over stuff on camera with visuals and text!
first shot of the video and its an absolute fucking legend casually adjusting tony the fucking tumblr sexyclock in the background like it's nobody's business, getting ready to talk about the greatest webseries turned show. glad to be alive to see it
the fact i did get traumatised by it when i first watched it, but im still a huge fan
I care a whole lot about this stuff. I love all the little details. I think they're just as neat. That dimhemees. Funniest thing I've heard today.
Its great I love the cuddly toys and all the accessories
19:03 I think the added charm, at least for me, is the added instrumentals.
Sending this to my friend who doesn’t think it’s good quality
Loved the video!
Omg i discovered youre channel today and it made my day youre 😚😚
Those are some really cool plushes!
What do you think of the TV show now? This was so entertaining i would love another long deep dive from you and hearing your thoughts! It was so awesome watching this I love your humor
what do you mean? I, too, care for random DHMIS details.
I like your videos I was sad when I first found you that I couldn't comment, you need more subs to

I LOVE YOUR CONTENT
Tony: ima just sit here and look at the wall
I know I am a little late to be commenting this, but could you please do a tutorial on how you made Tony and Sketch?! They look amazing!!!
23:19 this is quite the thing to hear someone say 2 years later now that its out
They need to make official dhmis plushies I need a lil' sketchbook and yellow boi.
I want a Bread Boy. and Shrignold.
Bro I be needing a mini Colin.
i need a colin plush,,
The materials they use for the arms are most likely foam and something called an "antron fleece"
Where did you get the clock man (I can't believe I forgot his name) from the second episode, it looks real accurate!
I just remembered it's tony
The Tony and Paige are customs.
Misty is so pretty!

15:14 isn't most of the meat in the 1st episode like... Colored paper or something?
