I remember the vile attacks on Edward Timpson (brother?) when he ran as a Tory candidate against Gwyneth Dunwoody's daughter. A couple of Labour public schoolboys dressed in tails and top hats and followed him around calling him a toff. Classy.

So far our new PM has decided to lie on most speeches I have seen since becoming PM.
He claims to have a mandate in ALL FOUR parts of the UK. This is a total lie. What mandate does he have in the north of Ireland. Labour do not fight for seats in the north of Ireland.
I would like him to be clear on what mandate he feels he has in ALL FOUR parts of the UK. Otherwise he should apologise to the people of the north of Ireland whom he is making false claims about, and also be clear in the apology that he lied numerous times since becoming PM.

i dont think this is really high praise for the labour party, but they have exceeded my expectations so far. i think i have just subconsciously assumed after my entire memory of british politics being under conservative rule that there was some weird thing in british politics stopping the government from getting anything done. no, the tories were actually just that incompetent.

Right? Like for the past 14 years I've been conditioned that every response to a government announcement etc is 'what fresh hell are they inflicting now??' so when a government minister announces something logical, compassionate, good it's like... oh...

We've had 14 years without a proper functioning government. We've heard more about personality over actual governance from the Tories, and the whole country has paid the price. I'm not expecting too much from Labour, but they're off to a pretty good start.

In the US, the infamous Kim Kardashian & her husband plagiarist/ "sampling" rapper ex-husband got into Prison Reform. The seemingly concern for unjustly incarcerated people was actually to get their grandmother out of prison. I wondered what kind of crime would a beloved cute gramma would be imprisoned?😮 Imagine if you had to visit your nana in the yard?😂

It's very curious that Starmer, as a former human rights lawyer and Crown Prosecutor has had NOTHING to say about the rulings of the ICJ and charges from the ICC concerning his pals in the Holy Land. His silence speaks volumes.

My understanding is that Jacqui Smith made a mistake of £185.20 on her expenses and immediately repaid £400 to cover the expense and the costs of dealing with it. Her husband watched a couple of porno films the costs of which ended up his wife's internet bill which she reclaimed (in error). When JS left parliament in 2010 she rejected a seat in the House of Lords because of the above matter. Now 12 years have passed, she quite rightly sees nothing wrong (or hypocritical) in accepting a new job with the Labour Government. 'Warmed over Blair' or 'Blair 2.0' maybe - but they won and I expect they will quickly repair the social safety net and the economy - and remember Corbyn twice lost (open goal) to Mrs May and then (demanding an election which he was likely to lose) to Johnson.

2:10. James Timpson is NOT the founder of Timpsons. It was founded in 1865 by shoemaker William Timpson and his brother-in-law Walter Joyce. Do your research and get it right.
