Brilliant overview! I've cruised out of that Rome port multiple times, and have never been through the new terminal - it looks great! Sun looks absolutely remarkable - thanks for taking us with you!
I’m a platinum elite member with Princess with >100 sea days. Unfortunately Princess has elected to decrease free food options and increase “pay as you go” venues. I won’t ever ride aboard this vessel due to polices enacted by Princess. I saw the “balconies” which are on the main plaza deck with passengers walking by (yikes! No!) Bottom line it a nice change but the nickel & diming is too much…….switching to all inclusive lines like Seaborn & Silversea.
We have just returned from a nine night cruise on the Sun to some fantastic places. Unfortunately some of the areas were still not ready which put a strain on some other areas of the ship (the piazza, live lounge and OMalleys). One night we couldn’t get a seat so returned to our cabin. There was one production performance which was stopped towards the end due to technical reasons (the floor stuck) and the Dome acrobatic show was a dress rehearsal (a long queue formed at 6am for tickets) and inside those on the tiered seating had a good view but those of us on the top level couldn’t see unless we stood up and still had a restricted view. Both shows I’m sure will be good though. Park 19 wasn’t open either. In the Piazza the top level, those who are not on the front rows of seats only have a view of half the floor area so if the artist moves forward they cannot be seen and in Crooners you were forced to only listen to the music from the Piazza because it’s not closed off. Finally the full length blue glass on deck 9 was a disappointment to us because due to the spray on the glass clear views were not always possible preventing photography / videography. All that said I’m sure Princess are and will learn as they go on and others will have a different experience to us. We have paid a future cruise deposit but it remains to be seen if we will use it or go back to Celebrity.
