My partner and I are booked for November in a Reserve Cabana. I haven't drank for over 8 years, but, those drinks sure sound amazing. I can't wait to go. Just happy it's over 7 months from now. Very happy to hear that a new crew on a new ship is working so well.

Ive avoided the buffet at all costs when on ships. This is such a wonderful change. I always try and eat in the MDR for all 3 meals but on early excursion days when we have to eat before they start serving in the MDR the buffet was the only choice.
Hey Guys! I love your video's! I was recently on the Caribbean Princess in a balcony cabin. They had those annoying motion sensor lights also. A quick and easy fix for me was to place the decorative pillow from the bed, on the floor, in front of the bedside tables. Worked like a charm!

I unplugged the sensor lights in our cabin on Crown. Then plugged back in before we disembarked
You guys are just so smiley and enthusiastic, it makes me automatically smile, too. I'll be on the Sun for a B2B starting Nov. 9. The first week is being dedicated to Magic. I didn't know that when I first booked it. Not really a magic fan but it looks like I'll be able to escape it if it gets too be too much. SO excited to go! One drawback that I don't like is that I could not find a disabled cabin midship like ALL the other Princess ships. Why they moved all of the handi cabins to the far ends of the ship I'll never understand. Not good Princess!!! I'll be all the way up front doing my best Titanic "flying" impression off of my balcony! lol!

Hey Jordan and Jared. We were on the same Sun Princess cruise with you guys out of Barcelona. We saw you in the Crown Grill and around the ship. We also ran into Don when we were at the Dome and spoke with hime for a few. Agreed that Sun Princess is awesome. We missed the production shows but we think that Princess did a good job entertaining the guest with the singers, magicians, and comedians in the Arena. We did like the automatic nighlights on the nighstands. They are sensitive but make it a lot easier to get to the bathroom and back without injuries. We agree, the service was probably the best we have had on any cruise. The Sun Princess crew were amazing!

I hate the motion sensor lights under the bedside table! We went on the Caribbean Princess in January and our cabin had those. It was very annoying. Every night we took pillows and put one on the floor in front of each table. That solved it. There was also a motion sensor ceiling light directly in front of the bathroom door, which meant anytime one of us got up for the bathroom during the night, that light went on. My sister had the bright idea to take a piece of sticky paper from my lint roller and put it over the sendor every night. We'd take it off in the morning and stick it on the inside of the closet door. Thank god for older sisters and their clever ideas! :)
I LOVE THOSE! I am not into falling in the middle of the night. I wake up thinking I'm at home, and run into a wall. Hahaha

Another great Sun video! Did I miss it, or does this ship does not have a basketball court? Or was it part of the closed off Park 19? We are looking at booking it for Christmas, and I feel like that might be a deal breaker for the older kiddos who spend a lot of time on the court on Royal & Disney cruises (first time on Princess)

I like the sound of the open dining option. I could not be bothered dressing up for dinner unless I was on the Queen Mary. Funny how we all set boundaries differently! I would not dress up on any other ship but I would not question the need for a jacket and tie if I was on QM! Thank you for the video!

Thanks for sharing your thought of the Sun Princess. As far as the lights at the bottom of the nightstands, for us in an inside room and being over 65, we appreciated the lights so that we wouldn't bump into anything and could get to the restroom (where another light would come on) with just one eye open :) .

The night light on the bedside table on our recent Sky Princess cruise was also most bothersome! I put a pillow in the bottom of the bedside table to block the light - worked!
What was the wifi like? Was it included or you have to pay for it separately?

We were on a Princess ship to Alaska, and also have the same reaction about their mattress. Worth taking a cruise on Princess just for that.
Kudos to Princess Cruises for keeping the crew serving system in the buffet areas! Wish the other cruise lines would do the same!

Thanks for the review, guys. I especially like that you noted the motion sensor lights at the bottom of the side tables. For me that is okay when i have to use the baňo. Im okay wirh the blandee color scheme because so many lf the ships have too much color.
Sounds like a lovely ship :) so glad that you both had a great time :) such a shame about the production shows though.. Were doing our first Princess Cruise in may 2026, just a 2 night one on the crown Princess in an interior cabin, but i have purchased us both the Princess premier package, which I'm very excited about :) but the crown is so so old in the decor compared to the sun Princess. The sun is a beautiful modern cruise ship, photos look a bit like the celebrity edges photos. I'd be very happy to cruise on either ship, they both look stunning :) they're my types of ship hehe

Hi we guys. First of all, my partner and I love your channel 🤗 Secondly, we will be going on our first cruise onboard Celebrity Reflection. We did all the bookings ourselves.. and upon reading about what documents to bring, we are not sure about the vaccines we need and is it mandatory. We are fully vaccinated for Covid.. but the others like Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A and B, etc… are those mandatory in order to board the ship? Please tell us.

If you book a Signature Suite do u still have to pay for the Sanctuary or do u just get priority access?

We booked princess for the destination next summer (we wanted to visit italy and greece) bonus we were surprised its on the sun princess!
We're on the Princess Discovery right now and we placed a small box in front of the bed side floor sensor to prevent it from coming on at night. It was very annoying the first night. Obviously it only comes on when it's dim/dark but there's no way to turn it off otherwise.

Amazing review! Very complete, JJ one quick question, what do you think about NCL Prima/Viva vs Sun Princess? I have been a loyal customer of Celebrity Edge class but I'm looking for a similar or better experience, where do you think I could get this similar experience? NCL Prima/Viva or Sun Princess? Keep in mind that I'm big fan of Theater/Night Shows (like the ones on Celebrity) for me this is a must have!
Just came back from Celebrity Ascent , the decor and special touches doesn’t compare , the Ascent is superior . Noticed right away too plain of a decor . The specialty restaurants were gorgeous . Also the main dining rooms . And no smoking in the casino . We stayed in the retreat which is the only way to go . Don’t like that others can buy a pass to get into the Sanctuary on Sun princess . This seems too casual for us . If Star princess mirrors this exactly - I think we will pass on Princess . More children will be onboard here too .
Well, it was weird to see it for the first time, but I liked it somehow.
My uncle, along with his other crew members, were the first ever crew to ever work on this ship, he even captured it in Turkey after stopping. I cannot imagine his happiness.
Totally get you on the motion lights. We put a pillow at the bottom of the table to prevent that. Also, bring a couple of clothes pins for curtains.

We solved the problem with the same type motion lights on Sky Princess by putting one of the pillows next to the bedside table and they did not turn on.

I HAVE booked the Sun Princess as my first cruise; I'll be sailing in 2025 so hopefully, everything will be up and running by that time.
As a writer, I'm interested in all types of art and was looking forward to attending an art auction (so I hope they decide to put that on the ship)! I'm a bit concerned about the venue for theatre and other performances but I'm hoping to arrive to the shows early and use my Princess Premier package to get a good seat because (again), I'm an artist and enjoy all types of artistic endeavors.
I'm extremely excited about their food venues, especially The Butcher Block, The Catch, and a few other specialty and casual dining experiences. Also, I'm hoping to do Spellbound. However, with the possibility of 4,000+ cruisers sailing (and only allowing 90 people in per day , and not even being a daily occurrence), it would almost seem like winning the lottery to get a ticket for this experience. Plus, for those who can't pay the full cruise upfront (like me), it reduces our chance to experience Spellbound (since I believe you have to have your entire cruise paid off before you can even book any specialty dining) making booking Spellbound akin to a "class" issue (even though each person would have paid for a cruise, sometimes even more money for their cruise) than a person who paid in full.
The spa seems a bit expensive but I might go all out (since it's my first cruise). I will definitely be hitting up that beautiful casino!!!
QUESTIONS: (1) Is there a library on the ship that can be used as a quiet area to complete work and/or do some reading in (instead of being in your cabin)? (2) Did the Sun Princess have any activities designed strictly for solo cruisers?

Thanks for show video of new ship, Sun Princess. They looks nice but they are too modern. I don' t like buffet in lido because they are not self service. So passengers had to wait on long line to get meals from server. They need more servers so they can serve meals faster when they are busy. I like older ships better. Do they have solo cabin on Sun Princess. I saw video of Ruby Princess from other user. I like it. I never go on Princess ships before. I hope I will go on Princess older ship some day.
I like the motion sensor light switch by the bed, but maybe they could fit a switch so you can choose whether or not it’s on.
Celebrity have a night light in the bathroom so you don’t blind yourself at night which is great.
This was sadly lacking on our Princess bathroom.
The best thing is that Princess have discovered (20 years after everyone else!) that you can have glass shower doors instead of shower curtains!

A big negative for me is the crew serve buffet. I like to get my own food. I have found on HAL where all buffets are crew serve, the lines are longer and by the time you get the food you want, it is cold. If you forget something like a Pat of butter, it is a major production to be able to get it.

One clarification - from one Travel Professional to another - Only category C1 & C2 Reserve Collection Cabana Mini Suites located on Deck 9 get access to the Cabana Deck(s)

You are correct, only Reserve Collection Cabana Mini’s on deck 9 have access to the cabana deck.
Interesting review. Ship sounds very nice except for the crowded buffet and lousy room service but the ship is too big for me anyway
Does it have a casino?
I am so excited for my fall cruise on the Sun Princess. I am kinda bummed about the 15 drink per day policy. I get why that is a thing on Carnival, but Princess never has or never will be know as a rowdy, booze cruise. The limit makes no sense on a premium line. If it is a cost thing, I would have no problem paying for drinks over 15 (not saying I will actually drink 15), but I hear it is a hard cutoff, regardless of tolerance.
I prefer sailing HAL because the buffet there is crew served. This looks like an amazing ship, did the crowd ever seem overwhelming, and what are the solo cruiser options?

Our first and only Princess cruise was on the Caribbean and the motion lights on the bottom of the night stand drove us crazy! We stuffed an extra pillow in front of one and a pamphlet in front of the other! The light popping on in front of the closet was very distracting also! We did not like the fact that it could not be turned off and on! Also having our name on the door was not to our liking but we have found out you can have them removed!

Is there an adult-only pool on this ship? The Retreat areas of ships are always my favorite. It would be a shame if they didn’t offer this! I understand the sanctuary is adult only but that costs extra. 🤔

I'm one of those that needs the room dark to sleep, so this could make it or break it for me. Still looking forward to experiencing this new ship based on all the positives.

Thank you for giving us the bad and the ugly. Everyone is just giving the good stuff. This is a cruise that will nickel and dime you unless you get the plus or premium package. I like to sleep in the dark, so I would definitely do something about that light at the bottom of the night stand. Regarding the specialty dining, the price is too high but we may only do the sushi one since my family loves sushi. There are some eateries that are complimentary for lunch but not for dinner. We are going for the first time in December. I am also a travel agent and highly recommend buying insurance as well. Hopefully, everything will be working at that time. I do have a question that non one has been able to answer yet. On the standard booking, do we have to buy the alcoholic drink package for the first two persons in the room? Since things have changed so much and we have not experience Princess before, I could not find this answer. ❤
So, when you buy Princess Plus for your cabin of 3+, the Princess Plus Perks are only for first two Guests. However, if you are adding drink package a la carte, we believe you must buy for all in your cabin. Underage would be Non-Alcoholic Drink Package, of course.
In the buffet I loved being able to get a little of many things and tastes on one plate. Does this mean I need to order 7 dishes to get the same experience. Would love to know and I'm not as bothered by germs and alike, but would love to know if this is the end of the the 'awesome' choose what you want and means extra wasted food if you want a bit of each. #thanks
You can ask for as much or as little as you want. They just will serve it to you. ☺️

The theater comments on people not being aware of their surroundings. Shocked. I'm shocked. Heck, I'm surprised they weren't talking the whole time too.
The sushi place should be casual at lunch time like it is on other ships.
What about the ports? Did you do any excursions? Was it really smoky? I understand they allow smoking in the casino.
No excursions on this cruise as we focused on the ship for 5 days. ☺️

I was on this exact cruise, the entertainment was excellent, the eatery was ok but was expecting something better than Panda Express Asian food. Be sure to book your dining times weeks in advance or else you will be stuck there. The service was top notch! Get the upgraded drink package.

The light under the night stand drives me nuts as well. I usually get an extra pillow and use it to cover the motion sensor. That usually does the trick.

This was my question, thank you for sharing, I'll shove every towel & pillow under there to make sure that the room stays dark until at least the morning. I need my awesome rocking cruise sleep, the lights would drive me nutty!
@@DisneyGirl99 It was like a strobe light show until we figured out what was happening. Those sensors are so damned sensitive, it seemed like a sneeze would set them off! lol!

We sailed with many other passengers. The ship was sold out and the media team was a small fraction of those onboard.
