Star Pastry-
Ingredients:
2 sheets of puff pastry dough, thawed
About 1/3-1/2 cup filling of your choice (jam, Nutella...)
Egg wash (beaten egg with a couple teaspoons of water)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F
Unroll puff pastry sheets and place the sheets of puff pastry dough on top of one another. Trace a large circle, as large as possible, onto your dough with a sharp knife, discard scraps. Place the circle of dough on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Peel apart the two circles and spread the filling over the top of one all the way to the edge. Place the remaining circle on top. Set a small glass in the center of the dough and cut it into quadrants, a + shape, from the center to the edges, leaving the middle in tact where the glass sits. Cut each quadrant in half again... and each of those pieces in half so you have 16 strips coming out from the middle.
Grab any 2 neighboring strips of dough and twist them in opposite directions from each other. Repeat this all the way around keeping the direction you twist the same (either away from or toward each other) each time
Brush with an egg wash and bake for 15-25 min or until puffed and golden brown, mine took 20.
Pinwheels-
Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry dough, thawed
*Filling of your choice*, enough to cover the sheet
Egg wash
*I used 3/4 cup of artichoke dip for one type of pinwheel. For the other I used about 1/3 cup pizza sauce, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella and a few basil leaves.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400F
Unroll puff pastry sheet onto a piece of parchment paper. Spread or layer on your filling of choice up to 3 of the edges... leave a clean border of about 1/4" on one long end.
Roll the dough up using the long end toward the bare edge. brush a bit of egg wash on the bare edge to help seal the roll. Freeze for 5-10 min before slicing.
Slice into 1/4"-1/2" pinwheels and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 15 min.

Hi Emily Happy New Year .. did this in KC for Christmas Eve huge hit! Thanks for sharing. Have a question for you .. have you made bread pudding? If so what type of bread did you use or recommend?
Yes, I have a recipe up for bread pudding. I prefer to use brioche or a very good white bread
you should try baking no make cookies
I've been trying to copy the Garlic Monkey Bread @ Papa Murphy's with a puff pastry, but your recipes look a lot better
Sounds great!
I know this is unasked for, but a pizza cutter works well to cut puff pastry!
I bet it does! I would have definitely messed up the circle with one of those though, I am NOT that coordinated
@@InTheKitchenWithEmily I totally get it. It was actually cutting the ... arms? ... of the star that made me think of a pizza cutter. Anyway, great job!
oh i see! It might work if you didnt have the cup in the middle... otherwise the cup would get in the way@@ChrisPerrin
