Making the Gigi Hadid Pasta | Easy Orzo Recipe

Makes 2 very large servings
Ingredients:
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 shallot (I used yellow onion)
1 clove minced garlic
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 Tbsp vodka (optional)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 cup grated parmesan
Basil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbsp butter
1/2 lb pasta (I used orzo)
1/4 cup reserved pasta water
Directions:
Heat a large pan over medium/medium-high heat. Add olive oil. While that heats, finely chop the shallot and garlic. Add to the pan an cook until translucent. Add tomato paste and stir well, breaking up the tomato paste. Cook until everything begins to caramelize. At this point add in the vodka if you are using it. Cook until it is nearly all evaporated. Add in cream and red pepper and remove from heat. Mix well and add salt and pepper to your taste.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and reserve 1/4 cup of the water.
Add the pasta, water and butter to the pan. Mix well until the pasta is coated in the sauce. Add parmesan and sprinkle with fresh chopped or dried basil. Mix again until combined and serve.

Yes! But this is a great way to store the excess if you buy the cheaper canned version.
Usually, the can is too much.
I just stick the can the freezer as is, it does not completely solidify, so you can easily scoop ot out & no extra waste
I have a can of tomato paste that will expire in about like 30 days I don't know. But the fact that I have it and it's just kind of sitting in my little trinket drawer is kind of funny to me. I thought it was funny because it was tomato paste.

Open the bottom of the can using a can opener and push the bottom part of the can to the already opened side. This will scrape the sides of the can for you without having to use a knife or spatula.

Ok I followed your recipe to the T but the goddamn thing stuck to the parchment paper you might want to redo this and say to spray it with avocado oil or some other kind of spray oil. I am 100% Italian. I’m a fabulous cook and I own a cookie business for 30 years. I know what I’m doing so please incorporate the spray, thank you
