@@BananaNationTV I also threw in Kess, and other spell return, so that I can cast them multiple times. Nothing better then dropping an Illusion of choice and Expropriate to take 8 turns in a row. At that point you can just pump Kenrith with +1 counters, and win via commander damage.

If he's only white how do you use all of his abilities as a Commander? Shouldn't he have to 5 color himself? I'm just curious because I'm kinda new to mtg
@@michaellamachia2523 No problem! To answer your question, any abilities that require colored Mana on a commander count towards their color identity. Therefore, Kenrith allows for a 5 color deck. Does that help or did I misunderstand the question?

@@michaellamachia2523 Although that's not a bad idea, I feel as though a few other commanders would be better suited as a new deck for relatively new players. If you'd like, I can recommend a few, but if your heart is set on Kenrith, I say hit the green light.

Burnished Hart would be amazing in this decklist, with the Biomancer’s Familiar it sacs for 1, and you bring it back with Kenrith for 3; rinse and repeat for 2 lands every time.
It is also great with Illusionist's Bracers! 4 lands for 6 mana is actually great rate.
Use a buffed by kenrith Agatha to do it all for one each lmao

I think that I would play Overabundance in this deck. It is a budget mana doubler and allows us to leverage Kenrith's life gain ability

You should run composite golem in this deck, if you have biomancer’s assistant or hearthstone out, than it can create infinite man with kenrith and make your opponents draw their whole deck, and it’s only ~30 cents

I have a Kenrith deck I'm building while we are all at home. I was gonna build him more as a pillow fort, but I like this more political side of him. This will definitely help me finish the deck.

AWESOME deck tech, I just had a friend slide Kenrith my way so I’ve been wanting to build it.
Couple things that you should have added that I put in my list. 1.sharktocrap it’s creature that whenever a +1 counter is put on it it taps a creature and it Dosent untap during its controllers untap step just a good way too lock down some scary creatures for 2 mana. Also I really love doing the mazes end wincon it’s cheap and since you need the fixing it helps to have mazes end as a tutor for the land you need.

I feel like Lich’s Mastery is a very dangerous card to play. Mainly due to cards like Cleansing Nova, Planar Cleansing, Clyclonic Rift, River’s Rebuke, and Kaya, Bane of the Dead.
I wanted to make a kenrith commander deck, but I could not get anything to really work, so I totally just copyed this deck because it looks awesome and I wanted something that's commander in a nuttshell, got all the cards home yesterday :)) My playgroup and I have never played commander and are going to play commander for the first time tomorrow.. Hype train!!
Would you consider doing older commanders for the new budget? Would love to see Yarok $50 budget
If you're making a five color deck on a budget, you may want to consider running Krosan Verge, Prairie Stream and Murmuring Bosk. Since Krosan Verge can actually tutor the latter two, it becomes a land the just straight up fixes all of your colors. You can expand upon that by running Grasslands as well.

@adrianybarra24 if you're at a new table, probably. He's a very respectable CEDH commander so you will have to let everyone know beforehand that you're playing a more casual version.

You can replace any of the creatures with priest of gix, then you go infinite with it, biomancer’s familiar, kenrith, and altar of dementia. It shouldn’t be too hard a combo to find with all of the tutors

Well done Mitch, that is one hundred percent the right build. I am an idiot so I'm building the janktastic 5 colour knights of the realm adding in all the ldraine legendary knights and nobles including the twins planeswalkers and going for the 'happily everafter's win

I ended up using this deck and swapped lichs mastery with smothering tithe and it makes for a neat combo where you can infinitely mill if you outmana your opponent.
Sweet! Now, while the price of all the cards skyrocketed since you built the deck, I was able to swap in some cards for... similar-ish effects that I had from drafting previous sets. Some board sweepers, Happily Ever After (Which I'm determined to make work!), Scheming Symmetry, Wishclaw Talisman, and a card that I think will do a fair amount of work -- Agent of Treachery.
Happily ever after absolutely works. Agent of Treachery is the opposite of group hug you have lots of options for getting cards that are less offensive and for less mana. If you have been drafting recently you may have a Sphinx of the Guildpact or Planewide Celebration. Both work well especially the pick 4 sorcery and most people don't know 2/2 token you are getting fills all 5 colors to live happily ever after.
BTW another great card to put in this deck is War Tax. You can activate it on anyone’s turn so you can protect yourself OR use it for a political favor and protect another player...
Good deck, but I'm surprised you didn't mention Eternal Witness. WIth that and Altar of Dementia on the board, you can mill yourself by sacrificing the Witness on the Altar, bring her back with Kenrith and grab any useful non-creature cards that got milled, and keep doing that until you've got all the win conditions you need. It's an amazing combo for this deck.
I got this with Fanatical Devotion replaced with Door to Nothingness. Last game I played Mana Flare and Dictate of Karametra, so everyone had triple mana and the turns lasted like 10 minutes long lmao
also added in Approach of the Second Sun just cuz its funny, and Fumigate just cause its a pretty decent board wipe and maybe it'll combo with sanguine bond if i get lucky

Doom Whisper as the life gain effect offers a chance to Surveil 4 each time.
Illusionist's Bracers when equipped would double Kenrith's abilities.

Kokusho the evening star would be fantastic here, but it is a little above your budget @ around 11 $, sac it, drain everyone for 5 each, gain 15, reanimate it and repeat.
Surprised Training Grounds didn't get a mention, seeing as it's a U for the same ability as your Golden Pig

Infinite mana combos are always good with him. A good old pili pala/ grand architect would do the trick. Infinite life. Infinite bii boy. Trample and haste. Infinite draw. Infinite resource=infinite win.

Noticed that by following the video (and upgrading it) the card amount would be 101 in total (1 mountain extra than compared than what the tcgplayer links says)
Which was kinda confusing as hell when trying to go through and building this when all cards were gathered, but overall neat videos with interesting suggestions to diffrent kinds of decks and play styles

Mitch, there is a great politics card that I think you are overlooking. It's scheming symmetry. For one mana you and someone else at the table can tutor for a card and put it on top of your decks.
Heracron X yeah it’s fun, only thing is that’s a little more meta dependent. I have a few friends who make red ele blast/pyroblast staples, and I’d rather group hug with generic card draw rather than letting someone Tutor a game winning card (outside of some winds of rebuke shenanigans).
So glad I decided to be lazy yesterday and not print out the proxies for my own Kenrith politics deck. Though I prefer my "Monarchs in Their Castle" pillow fort/politics with monarch deck; there are a lot of cards in this for me to put on my consideration list.
I'm surprised to not see fertilid on the list, not only is it repeatable ramp, but you can also use it in a political manner to help other players ramp
Seems really good with Kenriths ability to reanimate and his ability to add +1/+1 counters.
I'm lovin' the upgraded deck and wouldn't mind sinking in a little more $$ into it to improve it, but the ideas I come up keep coming up with have wound up messing consistency to paths to victory in the deck. Any suggestions for additional upgrades?

Genuine question here, would you consider making decks around some of the Unstabled legendary creatures? My group is fairly casual and allows many of the Unstabled cards to be played in our games, and I’ve been wanting to make a deck around Grusilda, Monster Masher
I made this deck but altered it to involve infinite mana too and literally nice people to death, and also a couple "by the king's decree" sort of things, like a literal wincon, a door to nothing and a soulscour, it used to have golos as a commander but i realized golos anti exactly good for the deck so i got a kendrith and swapped em out
stingmoggie in kenrith is basically destroy a land for 6. i'm going to try that
For flavour reasons I would put in more walls. Nothing protects a king better than his castle's walls.
Instead of seeing Pramikon and thinking "wow, that helps the deck a lot because blah blah bloopidy."
Instead, the first thought that sprung into my head was, "Wall tribal?"

Hello! So I was thinking about adding in 3 cards based on what I see from the deck and how it performed on Command Zone.
1. Seedborn Muse
2. Vorinclex
3. Bribery
I wasn’t sure if these fit the focused build but I did see how they could fit in the deck. Seedborn untaps lands so I can do more with King Kenny. Vorinclex slows down my opponents while doubling my manna letting me do more shenanigans with Kenny. Last the deck seem to have a theme of taking others stuff so Bribery seemed to fit as well.
Last question, do you have a $100 deck tech for King Kenny? I would love to see what you would put in if you had a higher budget. Thank you.

I tested my group hug Kenrith today and won with happily ever after. But I also intend to win only with that card or come in place second =D I have never seen an Atraxa stay so long without even one player wanting to get rid of it xD

If you use Bident of Thassa's ability while you have multiple opponents and Ghostly Prison, do they have to attack the other player or can they choose to attack you and not pay the cost to attack effectively negating the forced attack?
This reminds me of my Horde of Notions deck, which plays like a 5 color Meren. I'll probably throw this guy in so he can be my alt commander from time to time. Evoke dudes could work in here...

Is lich's mastery worth the risk against the possibility of even a single bounce spell or enchantment destruction?
Never found Ghirapur Orrery to be that useful while playing, and Altar of Dementia didn't help much either with its milling. I replaced the Altar with a Phyrexian Altar (the mana of the sacrificed creatures can then be spent on Kenrith's abilities) and replaced Ghirapur with Chromatic Lantern, because then I don't have to watch out for accidentally tapping the wrong lands and locking myself out of a different play path.
Also, played a game earlier today where I was 100% dead the next turn. It was a 3 player Commander game, I was on 7 life, and had 14 mana open for my turn. I cast Defiant Bloodlord into Resolute Archangel, and proceeded to do a 66 life swing that killed my final opponent. Felt preeeeetty good.
Looks like speculation on this card was crazy because the current price is not even 1/4 of what you've got listed here. Thank goodness.

I actually think Spotlight should stay in the deck over the reasonable upgrade of greaves. The ability to target hexproof creatures gets you around a key mechanic often in commander. While I agree greaves would make the deck better as an upgrade I would sooner swap something else out (maybe Luxa? I’d need to play test to be sure)
