During Divine Liturgy at St. John the Theologian Orthodox church in Quanah Texas, we talk about St. Paul’s solemn assertion to his flock in Rome that he prays for them without ceasing. We can understand his example as a command to us and the teaching about how to pray. We also share a prayer that I use daily and especially before all services which which is almost St. Paul’s words verbatim. We must learn how to pray, and what better example than the prayers and the allusions the prayer that are in the holy Script;ures?
Prayer from Romans 1:11-12 to impart some spiritual gift of Grace “My sweetest Jesus, grant that today, through my poor ministrations, everyone (here) will have imparted unto them some spiritual gift of Grace, to the end that they may be established, that is, that I may be comforted together with them by the mutual faith, both of theirs and of mine”
Romans 1:11-12 “For I long to see you, that I might impart to you some spiritual gift of grace, to the end that ye may be established, 12 that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith, both of yours and of mine.”
