I've learned to avoid creases in the material to never push the material sideways when gluing it down in order to smooth it out. I always position the material over the headliner backer to get it centered and then fold half of it back over itself and spray the glue on the material and backer, then gently lay the material on the backer and pat straight down to bond the two together. Then fold the unglued portion back over and repeat.

Great video, I did my son's 2005 ford ranger extended cab (a lot smaller than my 2002 mini van). But the truck was my first and it took me about 6 hours!!! Now I am after watching your video ready to do my mini van. Thank you....Did you disconnect the battery first??? I did on the truck because I had to remove the dome light. But not sure if I needed to. Please let me know, if you read this...Thank you.

I am preparing to replace the headliner in my Chrysler T&C mini van!
I was going to order some black quilted fabric, but it has a foam
backing of 3/8th", instead of 3/16th" foam backing! I am concerned that
the 3/8th" backing is too think and that I would not be able to
    reinstall the vents and such.
Have you ever installed fabric with 3/8th" foam backing and if so, how
    did that work out?

I hope it turned out, I did my son't truck yesterday. It was thicker too. I hope it stays, but I used the good Headliner premium spray. It took 3 cans. So I imagine it will take you at least 5 to 6 cans for a mini van.

You don't show how to prepare for the removal of the headliner and shell and the link to how to remove the headliner doesnt't show much either and leaves out a lot!

A factory headliner designed to fall apart, that's car companies for ya.
