- This will be the first built VQ37VHR that i'll document. I'll toss in every bit of information so that maybe more people will feel a bit less intimidated by building these themselves. This will be released in multiple parts since there's a lot to cover, so please sub to stick around to see the rest! Time for another VQ owner to go fast!
Part 14, i'll be talking about the cylinder heads, how to organize components, and the machine work that will take place soon. Correct pistons will be arriving in the next week so i'll get going of the machine work soon.

I've had an extra vq37 on my porch for awhile now, all this info is just what I've been waiting for thank you so much.
I totally dropped all of them out on the driver side … I know I’m screwed I just don’t want to think about it yet
Hi, i really enjoy watching what you are doing, thanks for posting that! My question is about the valve lifters, what if you didn't place them in order, they all got together, and now you can't find the right place, what can i do?
You would have to measure every valve stem to camshaft lobe clearance to get the correct ones in the correct position.
Great series of videos, very informative for myself looking to do engine rebuild on the VQVHR37 , question can't you leave the valve lifters submerged in oil in a seal container?
Hi, yes. You absolutely can as long as you keep each lifter/follower sorted exactly where they came from. Good luck with the build!
@@garagefanatic7830 Thanks for the reply, much appreciated 😃
Is your thermostat housing under your heads if so how would you change the whole thermostat housing
There's only 3 bolts to remove the housing under the driver's side head. It's pretty easy to get to.
