- Our first ever game of Marvel Crisis Protocol sponsored by Epic Basing. epicbasing.com/
Level up your miniatures through nature inspired resin bits or 3D print STLs.
In this match we have Space Marine Steve playing the heroes, the Avengers with Captain America, Thor, Ironman, and the Hulk. Bringing the Villains is James Jones with the Cabal lead by Red Skull. He has Loki, M.O.D.O.K, Viper, and Baron Zemo as well.
We learned a lot from producing our first game of Marvel Crisis Protocol. It is a game that is very easy to get into and play but is also very nuanced with lots of details. If this takes off and we do more there will be some simplifying of certain graphics and text prompts while also finding a way to keep track of all the health and wounds. Hopefully you come along with us on this journey of creating a show around Marvel Crisis Protocol.

I know that they probably don't do as well as the 40K vids, but gosh darn it if these non-40K aren't a ton of fun! Its always cool to see that the mini war gaming/table top hobby is more than just one or two big names, but is a whole world of cool, geeky stuff to explore and try out. Hope to see more stuff like this in the future.
If you play Warhammer then there is no money left for any other game :D
Couldn't agree more, its cool to have variety.
@@fckprc8149 Eh, you can skip two units and pick up the MCP core starter box.
The production quality that play on put into their videos is sooooooo impressive! Well done Tak, Steve, Tycho, Nick & James. This is a great intro to such a fun game
Hands down the best battle reports on the internet. By a mile.
I completely agree. Well done everyone. Thank you.
MORE MCP PLEASE! I loved this video, maybe my favorite you've ever done!
Glad to hear! It was a labour of love
I love how POT keep raising the bar on battle report production.
Hope all these game companies appreciate these free professional level promotional productions.
🤟
It would be nice to be loved. I think they do appreciate it.
Really happy to see you adding Crisis Protocol to the channel. Hope you're having fun with it!
Great video with the effects, a few things with the rules.
1) Loki wouldn't have been able to get up onto the bugle stand with trickster as that would require a climb and trickster is an advance
2) M.O.D.O.K wouldn't have been able to throw the taco truck into hulk as it would collide with the first thing under the template which would be the bugle stand.
Also, at 33:45 Cap dazes Zemo with a shield slam and the throw from that attack happens after the attack is resolved. Dazed characters cannot be moved or interacted with, and since Zemo is dazed at this point, He wouldn't be thrown.
Great Bat Rep though guys. Keep up the good work.
@Justin Mayo A climb is a short advance according the the rules. So I don't think that's correct.
Love to see MCP on Play On. Definitely interesting that you picked a banned crisis to play with "Panic Grips City as Evacuation Efforts Continue".
We were not really thinking competitive for this first one. Just a friendly fight between friends.
@@PlayOnTabletop Definitely, it was just interesting because James brought up Brace for Impact being restricted later in the video.
As well as the banned Med-Pack which was rough on an inexperienced Avenger.
Good fun game though
@@jameswoodward7545 I would imagine that this was recorded before the recent set rotation so Med-Pack wouldn't have been banned at the time.
People are sleeping on this game it's so simple yet competitive and fun! I'm going to my 2nd tourney this weekend!
Not sleeping just that it is kind of a nich within a nich, due to super heroes. Models are pretty but they are very set in what they are, you can't really make Hulk your own. Rules are very good, but to me the narrative kills it for me.
@@UnkaStunka there's a lot of narrative, I'm remaking battles from comics and mcu. There's also ultimate encounters, I also paint my models in alternative costumes and variants. I will admit I'm a lil bais cause I've loved marvel all my life and this game bring their table top form to life.
@@MekBoooooi I definitely share your enthusiasm for Marvel. I think it would be cool to use 3D printed pieces or something to make Hulk look like World War Hulk. That would be one way to make your Hulk unique!
simple, exactly. Most people in the tabletop genre dont want to play games 10 year olds can play.
I just wish I had people that played near me!
I can't like this enough. I LOVE all of your content and this is currently my favorite mini game.
More content like this, PLEASE!
"YOU WILL CALL ME MR. INITIATIVE."
"Mr. Initiative as the internet likes too call me"
😯🤚😂♥️
Been waiting for this episode since WAY back when I saw Tak painting some MCP figures in the background d of another video. MORE please! :)
Awesome! My favorite batrep/mini content channel is covering my favorite mini skirmish game! I'm pumped for this one.
I love the energy James and Steve bring to this game. Awesome stuff guys!
Incredibly painted minis! Plus M.O.D.O.K.!
Love seeing you guys play other games, would love to see a game or two from the new killteam! I loved challenger!
Simply amazing. I saw these models since a while and I am a huge Marvel fan... but I wasn't so sure about all the gameplay and stuff. But this battle report sold me.
Thanks for featuring MCP on the channel. Hoping for more. Great game and fantastic production quality. All the best.
This is really investing!
Please establish more wargames rather than only 40K.
Keep it up!!
This game looks like a lot of fun and I really want to try it now. Also the quality of this video was insane, you guys are so skilled. I for one really want to see more of this and I vote that bombastic declarations of villainy and heroism be mandatory.... also maybe always play M.O.D.O.K
Additionally the paintjob on these models is really good!
Definitely give it a go. Throwing scenery and enemies around never gets old.
It's a lot cheaper to get into, so it's a fantastic side game.
Excelsior!!!! Over 80 hours of work for editing this great video, you are truly true believers!!!!
This video was so awesome! I just picked this game up myself so when I see my favorite warhammer channel playing it, I got excited. The editing and graphics was so on point with the theme. Seriously, if ya'll ain't playing this game, give it a chance.
I kinda want to get into MCP now. I hope you do a basics/how to start guide!
If this video does well then we will work a How-to into our schedule.
This was great! I've been looking into MCP and this was the push I needed. Just ordered a starter kit!
Those paint jobs on those miniatures look amazing. Glad,to see Crisis Protocol being played on the channel.
Absolutely insane production level, probably the best I've seen in any battle report around. Congrats! I'm not into 40k nowadays, but I'm absolutely looking forward to see more MCP (and who knows what others possible games you may tackle) in the future.
There are a couple rules mistakes during the game, but I've seen them already commented by other people (Loki couldn't withdraw into the Bugle stand as it was a regular Advance, MODOK can't throw the truck as it would collide into the Bugle stand), but these are nitpicks overall and the correct way to do everything (for instance throwing the actual Bugle stand instead of the truck :P) wouldn't have changed much the result.
Now, what *could* have changed a lot the game is Steve using Hulk's superpower to reroll defense rolls besides the Monologue. Wouldn't have worked against MODOK due mystic, but could have mitigated (or not, because dice gonna dice) quite a bit of extra damage. But that's the classic "oh shoot, I forgot to use that hability" that happens to every one of us :D
Leaving my support for more legion and more crisis protocol!
I'd honestly love to see more of this. This is a great series for folks not super savvy with 40k to dip their toes into!
Amazing video! I’m hoping to get started in MCP soon.
My favorite tabletop miniatures game. So happy to see you playing it! Can't wait for more!
Love your very vibrant comic loadout on your editing. Please keep it as well as MCP - great system and I had a lot of fun watching the video :)
Would love to see more.
Would love to do more.
Love seeing some MCP on this channel!
Love these battle reports. I would love to see Nick playing this game. He probably wouldn't be able to help himself and make all sorts of voices.
Great game, and superb editing and graphics as always!
Want to see what you guys have in store for X-Force. Also I liked how you based Deadpool with the sound effects blocks because it fits really well.
Loving that you guys are covering this game on the channel. It's incredibly fun.
Level of painting is top notch, adds so much to the immersion and the quality of video, editing and effects are *chef's kiss". Would absolutely love to see more of MCP, this game is criminally underrated and needs more attention. Plus the amount of content (heroes) Atomic Mass Games pumps into it is through the roof. Hope you guys decide to keep promoting this!
While the level of paint may fluctuate with the different players we do hope to maintain the feel created by the production and vibe set by this video. Hopefully the audience for this game grows and we can maintain the professional painter for future projects and get all the new miniatures released by Atomic Mass
@@PlayOnTabletop this game is amazing and props to your team for driving that. No matter painting level, it still looks awesome, anything is better than grey plastic 😉
Great! The first MCP bat-rep I watch from start to finish!
Well done!!!
YES YES YES!!!! SO glad that Play on is including MCP... Fantastic game and fantastic battle report. Cant wait for more, well done team!!!!😃
This was so good! I need to look into this game and can't wait for more batreps from it. I REALLY want to paint Hulk.
Always good to see these two friends battle it out
This Channel keeps getting better and better..From 40k to now this..Outstanding looking forward to more.
Excellent video! Marvel Crisis Protocol is a great game and I look forward to seeing more of it on the channel.
These models are so much fun to paint! It's a nice break from painting 10 of the same model in warhammer 40k.
Definitely enjoyed watching, and would love to see more.
MCP is the game I've played most in recent days. I follow you more for the format and your presentation than for the 40k nature of the content.
The energy symbols worked well, as did showing energy counts at the round start.
Surprised you didn't use the dice box and cam that you use for 40k.
Ricochet blast sold me.
This video was amazing. More of this please.
For reals, though, I love this game and I would love to see you guys play more of it. Its so fun, and it and Legion are my 1-2 punch of minis gaming right now.
Marvel Crisis really is a super fun game. There's a lot of detail and things to keep track of, but no where near as complex as Warhammer or similar games requiring a load of books. Thanks for the report and the editing work!
As always, your production value is second to none. Love to see these small (size) games getting played.
It was really well done episode and was a blast to watch looking forward to seeing more
Yesssss! I love MCP and I am sooo glad that Play On is diving into it so much. You guys are honestly my favorite Miniature Wargaming channel and I am happy you are delving into one of my favorite games! Can't wait to see more MCP in the future!
AMAZING! So fun watching a new game this is why you all are my favorite channel on youtube
Always a joy seeing Steve and James square off with each other. Great dynamic between the two.
And very interesting game system. Could go for more of that in the future.
+5000 points to the editor! The backgrounds, edits and effects used here were superb!
Hope you guys enjoyed making this episode. Would love to see your enthusiastic selves play more MCP! 😁
James in the NOFX shirt, love to see it.
One of my fav tshirts
So a few of my friends n' I, all of us long-time 40K players, have recently gotten into this game and we love it. We love it for the mechanics, we love it for the sheer freedom and variety of the roster building, but most importantly of all, we love it for it's cinematic nature. The cool moments always feel more alive when you can vividly picture them happening to and with these characters you're already familiar with, who have histories and personalities all their own.
One of my favorite moments thus far has been Ghost Rider flinging a chain around Green Goblin's glider and dragging Gobby down the highway for a full long movement, before laying waste to him with the flaming hell chains. Good times.
Love this game, and I'm happy to see it here on your channel. I hope to see much more.
That's crazy I was just looking into MCP and then, BOOM you guys stream a game lol feels like providence
Sometimes it all just works out
Well, James has a NOFX shirt so he's instantly the coolest person on youtube
I'll take it
Sweet! One of the best miniature games out in my opinion!
I've been curious about this game for a while, thanks for doing this!
I never found battle reports of this game that interesting... until this one. Great job to everyone involved! It was extremely engaging and fun to watch. I hope to see more!
Great video guys. Love your 40k work and your MCP work is equally fantastic. Keep it up :)
Unquestionably the best battle reports in the business. Really appreciate all the editing work, I'm sure it's brutal.
I am excited to see this channel doing these battle reports!
I love just how much production value goes into this. Typically I watch playon's games in the background, but the comic book presentation just amplifies the already amazing comraderie and friendly rivalries that the players have to a point where I kind of just have to stop and actually watch. It's fun. It's neat.
These Marvel Crisis Protocol videos are the best battle report videos I've seen of any game! I've just starting looking into the game and it looks like a lot of fun. Well done and would love to see more!
This is so awesome to finally watch you guys play MCP. Was anybody on the Cabal team getting extra power from Red Skull's leadership when they did damage from an attack? I used to play cabal , and the amount of time I've missed the trigger is ridiculous.
I probably missed it a couple times
He missed it for the first few but once he remembered once was applying it from thereafter
That was great fun, didn't know of the game and i got genuinely interested in it!
Glad you found it fun!
Great video as always.
Aww yeah, I'd love to see more of this! Especially from y'all, you have the best production value of any channel I've seen.
Great game! The new characters rolling out are so strong.
Let's go baby !! This is what I've been waiting for !
Edit : The effects and format of this video is crazyyy!!! All of you guys make phenomenal videos !! Can't wait for the next one
I adore Crisis Protocol, so happy to see it featured on the channel!
Man you guys crushed this! I hope you get to play a ton more games!!!
This is the best MCP playthrough that I have ever watched! Great job! Hope to see more.
We love this game and hope we can find the resources to keep it going
While I'm not in the market for any new table top games to collect and play, this was a load of fun and I hope to see more of it.
I would definitely be down for another MCP game for the sole reason to see Steve claim revenge. The Year of Steve transcends ALL games. Also, James was REALLY crafty with his gameplay. Those villain units seem kinda busted with all their tools.
Echoing the sentiment that production quality is off the roof on this one and I'll be waiting for more episodes to drop. Also Steve's watch is clean 👌
It is clean!
The video quality and editing is out of this world... amazing quality and is one of the reasons this is my favorite channel by far! I've never played this game but it was a delight watching Steve and James play, looking forward for more videos!
This was absolutely fun to watch and the video editing kept it engaging the whole time. Thanks! 👍
Yes! Love this game! More please!
It’s always nice to see more people playing this game! Thanks guys.
I love that you guys have picked this game up. The production quality is top notch. I have been playing this game for a couple of years now.
Yesssss! I love this game right now. I still love the 40K videos but this level of production for MCP is awesome. Please keep these coming, you guys are amazing!
this game seems like such fun. i picked up the core set. i need to get started on it. would love to see more of this on the channel if possible
great game! You guys are on another level in terms of production for real. Hulk was definitely too aggro going into the evil Cabal, Steve being a bodyguard for him is money. Looking forward to the next one!
Absolutely fantastic production value and really enjoyed this snappy battle report!! Hope to see more of these to add to the list of BR’s I watch for this game!!
commenting for the algorithm, would love to see more, you guys have the best presentation in the game
Would definitely watch more of this!
PLEASE MORE, I LOVED THIS WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL.
I want to see T'au Nick, Tycho and Tak play this game. I am interested to see what team they put together.
When all the warhammer channels are playing Star Wars Legion and Marvel Crisis Protocol, both owned by Asmodee, you know Games Workshop has a problem on their hands. You love to see it.
Amazing production value. Hope you guys have more in the pipeline.
I love seeing MCP here. It's hilarious how many rotated tactics cards they use. Those were the days.
Amazing production value yet again! Super easy to follow along and love the back and forth this game has. Keep up the great work guys!
So happy to see MCP on your channel, it's such a great game. Keep it up guys!.
The "how to play" and animations made a wonderful digestible experience!!
It was very nice to watch. Awesome production quality! Would like to see more of this.
I enjoyed this video a lot. would love to see more mcp from this channel. You guys are literally the best battle report channel across all of youtube hands down.
The comic theme in the edit looks awesome. well done Play On
Loved it! Looking forward to more!
