Guys, the reason you are so popular is because you are so genuine, humble and knowledgeable at the same time. You are doing something you love and it comes across in the videos. Thank you!
👍👍
Thank you, we really do love our community and we’ll continue to give you guys the best content that we possibly can.
@@clubchampionmedia time to open a TXG UK?... SCOTLAND!
@@stuboy13 a TXG the United States preferably Michigan.
2 Years later and this video still holds up. Getting fitted later this week and video really helps.
How your fitting go? What did you buy?
Older vid but the recommendations presented are still as valid as ever.
I'd like to add a couple of suggestions to any watching this for the first time.
1- Bring the clubs you play with now and hit your warm ups with them.
This will give you some added comfort level and offer the fitter a baseline
from which to build on.
2- If you have data collected from Arccos or some other app, bring it along
or email it ahead of time to the fitter, so they can glance at it ahead of time.
3- Bring a sleeve of the golf ball you game. Particularly important if it's a
model they may not stock to hit in the bay.
4- Above all, communicate with your fitter so he clearly understands your goals
and the issues in your game that you're looking to improve, along with the budget
you're prepared to put towards finding the best combo to gain that performance.
Hope this helps and adds to your fitting experience. Play well.
Unfortunately, I am in that "50+" category who enjoys your content and admires the integrity with which you operate. Life is a game of opposites, much like golf: The more you give, the more you get. It's a spiritual principle that has every-day-life applications. Please never forget this, and you're golden.
BTW, really like the chapter markers.
Appreciate that, thanks!
Outstanding, really appreciate the advice!!!
For sure the best video yet. A few more overtime.shifts and I'll be in to see you guys!
This is THE BEST video that I have seen on getting the most out of a club fitting! This is great advice to anyone who is thinking about getting fit and allows them to set their expectations going in! I will be sharing this video with everyone I know before they go into a fitting! It also helps me prepare for my fit with TXG in a couple weeks! Can't wait!
Thanks Mitch!!
This was awesome and fantastically honest and refreshing
Great video Ian and Matt. Way to dedicate and breakdown the expectations and what to ask during a golf fitting. It really makes a world of a difference
Wow! Great video. Thank you.
Great stuff again guys! Really high quality content and information.
Thanks fellas. That was very informative and I feel less anxious along with the idea of having a better game plan going to my full bag fitting next week.
I cannot wait to come for a fitting g once everything clears up. This really settled me down. Thank you matt and ian
You guys are truly special and I only wish I lived closer to Toronto. Great information, thank you.
Thank you for this video! I am going in today for my very first fitting! Live in Phoenix AZ so I am taking advantage of the ping fitting. I’m pumped thanks again!
Great tips!! I’m going for a long game fitting this weekend and this video helps my anxiety.
Sounds like it is time to open a TXG SoCal.
SoTX
Yes... ..Please one in LOS ANGELES Area...🌇👍
One in Austin TX to!!!
Yes Austin and So Cal seem like get moves
shit, if you opened one in California you guys would own the west coast all the way to Texas BUT as a business man i wouldnt open ANYTHING in this shithole state!!
I'm planning on travelling to see the Seahawks next season and coming to see you guys. With my clubs, from the UK! You guys nail it.
Thanks to you guys I've splurged for a club fitting with Club Champion. The information you are sharing is fascinating. I love golf even more now, looking to finally end my driver nightmares
Getting ready for a new driver and 3 wood in the near future. These are great tips. Appreciate the honesty and overview.
Thanks for the help, going for a fit in a week and this was really helpful. Thanks!
Very informative video, thank you so much. Wonderful information and delivered very well. I wish I lived closer!
I am getting fitted tomorrow at the taylormade lab and this video really helped me understand what I should do! Thank you so much!!
Great video, with some great insights. Lots to take on board, i can see why people travel from far and wide to come and see you, when i decide to change my irons you guys will certainly be right up there to come and see even coming from the UK
Wanted to watch this again. Such a great vid and all good points. The fitting that I don't think worked for me was when I was in the middle of a pretty big swing change. My swing was all over the place. However, now that I think about it, as my swing improved so did the fit of the driver to me. That was my G30 fitting. I am in the middle of another one now, and now that the rain is done for a bit, I will get back after it. Maybe a trip to TO has to be in my plans this summer. Man, I miss that City.
You guys are unbelievably awesome. I'm from Michigan and we're planning on attending the Canadian Open in June, and really hoping to be able to set up a fitting while we're in town.
Guys thanks for doing this video. I’ve been considering going for a fit and had some concerns. This video alleviated them.
I’m 68 and watch you all the time. I wish it was feasible for me to come to you for a fitting. Keep it going and Thanks for the integrity.
Great Video!! I just wish I had the opportunity to visit you guys, being in NQ Australia it's a bit far, fittings are far and few between up here and when they are you get the sense of "you're wasting my time just buy something". Only one guy worth seeing and their is just a Mizuno cart and that's it . Keep up the great work, learning so much from your vids.
Inspirational stuff chaps. Great sharing, only 2 issues, one that we're on lockdown and two youre in Canada.... otherwise I'd be with you in a shot, as feel you're openness and attention to detail is outstanding. The difficulty will be having a fitting with anyone else as you've raised the bar incredibly high.
You guys are the very best. Period
Your content is the best! I just sent this video to a friend and now I'm watching it again as I'm about to get re-fitted myself.
Shoot imma be one of those I’m saving up some money so early next year I can come up there and get fitted by y’all.
Great advice, Thanks.....
I have a driver fitting this afternoon.Really glad I watched this video.
I had a fitting at Club champion last weekend and was nervous and frustrated. Felt great at the end when everything was dialed in. Wish I would have seen this video prior to going. Thank you for the info. This was great content for someone who is ready to be fitted for the first time.
Guys, great video as always!
I am a high handicap from Brazil and follow you since the first video. I almost scheduled a driver fitting with you. Unfortunately, the conference I was going to in Toronto got canceled! Maybe next year!
Congratulations for the nice channel!
If you were in Australia, i'd be jumping on a plane myself. You guys are so genuine and humble it just creates a massive amount of trust. You're never acting like salesmen. I went for a driver fitting yesterday, the bloke said he didn't want to see me hit my current driver, changed my set up, changed my swing, then put one driver in my hands and told me thats the one for me. I asked about moving the weights in it to make it more forgiving and he told me i can buy the tool when i buy the driver to be able to move them myself when i get home.
So naturally i'm now looking for somewhere else to go get a driver fitting done.
For what it's worth, I would love to head up to Canada to get a proper fitting to know that my clubs are adjusted to my swing. You do a great job not only keeping an open mind about all equipment and combinations but also keeping in mind what is best for the player's game - not just trying to push a specific product.
Loved watching Sam's fitting, but neat insight about his feelings of failure/failing the channel..Not to worry, Sam, you were great!
Getting my first fitting ever on Friday. I’d be lost if it wasn’t for this channel and all the great catalog of content. One day I’m crossing the border for a proper TXG experience.
I would love nothing more than to fly to ON to be fitted by you guys. I live in Nebraska. However, I doubt that's feasible, maybe, but doubtful. If I do go elsewhere (local) to get fitted the info you've provided is very useful. Thanks Matt and Ian!
We need you guy's in new Jersey,,this is the one of the best channels on CZcams,,a personal heart felt thanks to you guys for the knowledge and wisdom you guys are sharing with the golfing community,,A big heart felt thank you from my heart!!!!
Thanks for the information. I'm getting fitted for a driver soon and I think the video will help.
Great stuff as always gentleman. I'm currently on a long term business trip until November. So I won't be able to make it to TXG for a fitting in 2018. However, this is letting me save enough money to afford coming up for a fitting sometime in 2019. And I'll be one more for the under 50 crowd.
This particular video has a wealth of good information in it, so thank you for making the time to produce it. Fitters around the world should be sending you two thank you notes for sending them more informed customers who will spend their time (and their fitters’ time) more productively. I was fit five or six years ago by a top Ping fitter into a set of i20 irons. No launch monitor data, just ball flight. I have no complaints, but I am looking forward to a fitting for a new set of irons this summer, and will be much better prepared for it.
Great video and advice glad I watched this one guys. I think it’s important to keep an open mind and forget your ego and even brand preference and see what happens!
As amateurs we can choose the best in each category after all we’re not contracted to play a particular brand.
I live in Massachusetts and am seriously considering coming for a fitting with you Ian. By far the best in the business. Love you guys
Are you planning to come to Phoenix in 2019? Love your work...
I'm planning to get my first club fitting later this year, I was hoping I would be able to go to TXG but given the COVID restrictions it looks like that won't be possible :(
But this video and all the others are unreal prep material for me and are really what's inspired me to even get fitted in the first place.
If you ever open a NorCal location I'll be one of the first in line for that!
Just recently found your CZcams channel and really loving the content so far. This is one of the best videos and really highlights how honest you guys are. All of the anxieties that I would certainly feel going in to a fitting you’ve explained and I would definitely feel more confident having a full custom fit experience here in the UK. Is there any where you would recommend In the South of England that has the same fundamentals as TXG? If I had the money and time I would be flying to Canada to meet you guys! 😆
Great info for the person looking to get fit. Amazing insight to what to expect and the knowledge of can I really afford a custom set. I'm having my son fitted for a set for high school golf and really apprehensive of the final cost of the set.
I was planning on doing a fitting in about 3 years, but after finding this channel and binge watching videos, I really don't know if I can wait that long!!! lol
Ive never watched so many longer videos than normal and felt like they were so short. its so easy to watch and see time disappear because of how incredibly informative and diligent you two are with your content. seriously my favorite golf channel ever. Are there any club fitters you could recommend in the chicago area? I know club champion is highly reviewed, but I want to be able to look up the specific person and havent seen a way to look that up?
I’m 72 watch your videos all the time and enjoy them. I’m getting an iron and wedge fitting in Naples Florida tomorrow at True Spec Golf.
Looking forward to it
Having booked in for a driver fitting this week, this is gold to me. I had a bad fitting experience with one of the large UK retailers about a year and a half ago. Having just come back to the game after an 8 year layoff I feel I was duped into buying an expensive driver when I was nowhere near ready. The salesman (that's all he was) could probably sense my eagerness to get playing & took advantage of that. Now though 18 months later I'm ready, & this video has gave me some great knowledge to take with me. Fantastic work guys, love the channel. 👍🏻
Great video lads! I've only just recently found the channel and I think it's great. I have a driver fitting in a couple of days and this video has answered questions I had.
Excellent video guys, one can only hope other fitters out there share your beliefs.
You guys are amazing! As for the last mention on budget... I did a fitting a few days ago, and I personally have been blessed enough in my career to not have to worry about budget (I say that with as much humility as you all carry in your videos). But I didn't know if I should mention my budget to the fitter as I was unsure if that would cause him to fit me into something that I really didn't need.
After getting to know him, I could tell that he was honest and wouldn't do steer me in the wrong direction (especially after he suggested that I don't get a new 3-wood head but, instead, just change the shaft). So finally, I eased into the idea that budget didn't matter to me much, and I got a very good shaft in my new driver that I cannot wait to hit on the course. But certainly, that was a concern of mine and it took awhile to get to where I was comfortable sharing that with him.
Just wanted to share my experience. I ultimately did get fitted for the clubs I wanted and I am happy (haven't tried them on course yet but the numbers are significantly better than my old clubs). But it took us awhile to get there because I didn't openly walk in and share my budget... Do you guys think that consumers may be a little TOO frightened of sharing their budget? Or should be be weary of this kinda thing?
Matt & Ian, not sure if you follow comments from your older videos, but I just watched the "Get The Most Of Your Fitting" Video. Although I'd love to come out and visit your shop, I'll be heading in the other direction. I'll be visiting Glendale, Arizona for 10 days, this Thanksgiving. I'm planning on stopping into one, of two different locations, to go through a complete club fitting. I'd really like to purchase a new set of clubs, to help me improve my game. I've had so many rounds, that are just shy of being fantastic. Getting clubs set up for me, may just be the thing I need. I too, am one of the higher handicappers, and your videos, along with the information you provide, are extremely helpful. Thanks again!
Awesome information guys!
Went to my driver fitting yesterday, had to reschedule, I was leaking every shot to the right which is a rarity for me and my fitter knew that, so he told me to rest up and come back Friday. It was slightly discouraging to see myself perform like that but I know that thats not really me, I think I was just tired, so hopefully I’ll be good to go on Friday. Thanks for the video guys, really helped my confidence.
Hi Iain and Matt, hope you are both well. I am going to be fit for irons on Saturday at SGGT Edinburgh, Scotland after watching your channel. I currently have a set of Ping 1500's with px 6.0, however the shaft/head combo is not working. I have changed coach and I'm looking forward to my fitting and trying to get my handicap down.
I should have watched this video before getting a driver fitting. I was a bit disappointed that not much emphasis was given to swing weight. You guys seem to talk a good amount of that with head weight and shaft balance. Thanks for the videos. I will be better prepared for my hybrid fitting. My wife did want to take a trip to Canada...
Pure class from you guys and your philosophy. That is far too rare in golf shops.
Mike Martinelli thanks Mike!!
Hey Guys, I'm 81 and have watched you > 1 yr and have learned a lot. I learned to play at 16 using Ben Hogan's Power Golf. Just reread my original and paid 25 cents for it new. Keep up the good work.
In anticipation of my Feb 2022 fitting at the Toronto Facility, I had to re-watch this episode. See ya soon. Mike KERR
Just had a session with Ian, without doubt the best money I've spent on anything to do with golf. Being over 60 and a newbie to the game, Ian put me completely at ease. Love these videos,
great work guys.
👍👍👍
Great video again guys!! Glove review and mid-handicap woman player fitting videos would be really nice to see!
Appreciate if you guys could discuss how swing weight determine swing speed, ball flight etc.
I'm glad you talking about fittings, if you have driving range that let you demos, try as many different clubs you can then you can tell the fitter which ones you like and reasons and that the fitter to come up with the best clubs for you.
I’m the .01% that do walk through the door for a fitting and at 55 a member of the 50 plus group. I’ve had my clubs for 6-7 rounds now. The fairway woods were instant improvement and the driver is tighter dispersion for sure. Just getting the irons coming into their own now. Looking forward to reducing my handicap. Thanks Ian, you’re among the best!
👍👍👍👍
You two should do a course vlog in the future.
Top video. Tenterhooks for Monday.
Jim Devine thanks Jim!!
Ok guys I'm 61 and I watch every video. Guess I am data nut. Just had my irons adjusted because I am always changing things in an attempt to improve. Lower handle at impact, had to go flatter . I am 5'7" and would love to see something on getting the right length clubs in the bag. Thanks for another great video.
I’ve watched and learned from hundreds of hours of TXG video. I could not thank you guys enough for what you do. My take on the demographic of who gets to come see you I would think as a 29 year old is simply a money thing. I just think a 50+ has the extra cash to fly from the US and pay for a fit & new clubs more often than a younger person not to say we don’t want to come equally as bad. If there was aTXG closer in the states for sure we would be lining up! Thank you for everything you guys do!
I really wish I had the means at this time to come get a fitting with you guys! One day...
I really love your videos. They are so informative and you are a great team. You talked a little about budget in this video. I got a question about that. Knowing that next year there even better heads (drivers) on the market, is it then worth paying a couple of hundred dollars extra for the perfect shaft. Would it not be better to save those money until next year and have a new driver?
Great video! I wish you guys were in Vancouver. I'm about to go for a driver fitting. Any recommendations for a good fitter in Vancouver?
Thank you. Keep up the great content.
Used this info for a driver & 3 wood fitting today.
The tips made me feel confident that I got the most out of my fitting.
Thanks gentlemen!
Awesome!
You guys are the greatest, always informative and crystal clear in delivery , there are many fitting studios around but sadly they have less than half your knowledge kudos to you Ian , it is truly amazing just how much difference it makes having clubs fitted , tuned . Distanced control ,dispersion and constantly hitting the club face centrally , I often watch people buying clubs off the shelf and think to myself in that state they would be flat out hitting an airport runway let alone a fairway or green , and then seeing them out on the course rummaging through the trees trying to find golf balls ,, but excited about how far they hit it , especially those new to golf who really have no idea what they need , this is where a few lessons and properly fit clubs would make such a huge difference, and we would see fewer people dropping off from this amazing game . Keep up the great work guys 👍
Joe Wilkes appreciate the support Joe!!
I got fitted for the first time ever the other day, never even had a lesson before. I got to hit on a launch monitor it was pretty awesome. He gave me a few tips to fix my massive hook. I got a lot of work to do but at least i get to do it with some brand new big Berthas. Thanks for inspiring me to get fitted, maybe ill break 90 a few more times this year 😂
When I did my fitting sessions with TXG I felt zero sales pressure. In fact, I recall asking Chris, who did my fitting in Burlington, “ do you guys actually build everything?”. It was kind of a duh question since their well equipped workshop was right there, but it really was a comfortable situation. Matt’s comment about the importance of talking to your fitter throughout the process is so important. When we were fitting iron shafts we tried a lot of graphite shafts (I’m old and creaky) and we’re getting nowhere; I mentioned to Chris that I couldn’t feel any of the shafts delivering a kick through impact. He heard what I said and came back with a Nippon Zelos 7 steel shaft, a very light steel shaft. It was absolutely perfect. I’ve been thinking that I’ve been playing the wrong shafts for a long time but didn’t know where to go to find the solution.
I hate to sound like an infomercial but TXG is filling a huge void in the golf business.
Hello Gents! Been watching many of your clips and must commend you on your knowledge and your down to earth honest presentation. Live i Oslo and would like to delve into fitting. Can you recommend any one in the region? Very sceptical to just walk in anywhere. Would be prepared to drive to Göteborg i Sweden as well if you know of anyone competent there? Hope you respond on old posts.
Been an avid follower of your videos. 100% echo all the compliments and praise for your work. Please plan a trip to Asia!
stryker2828 thank you!! 🙌🏻
I'm definitely in the 50+ age group of watchers. There are golfers all over the place - and limited numbers of fitting studios and pro lessons. And, some of us may have had equivocal experiences with lessons in the past. CZcams is a buffet of coaching/fitting styles and personalities. A fantastic resource. A future discussion of 'what to look for' might be a helpful guide for those of us that are a bit more jaded...?
Great great great video ! 👍🏻
Where would I fly to for you guys,I've watched your interactions with the guys your fitting top notch. I've had a fitting where I go and the guy was locked on the guy in the both next to me he was bombing it .the irons I got did work well but no interaction.no feed back.went back next time for driver different fitter great feed back I left with a driver that wasn't on my list and I'm in the fairway alot.
Guys, great channel and I always love the content. This was a perfectly timed video since I have a fitting booked for tomorrow. I have never had a custom fitting before and always like to know what I am getting in to beforehand. I will take your advice with me, especially the part about not leaving with unanswered questions, and hopefully find some equipment tweaks that can help as I take my game to the next level.
Brad Ericksen hope it goes well Brad!!
This is my favorite of all the videos you guys have done. I have done a couple fittings and this detailed account of what we as the fittee (don't think that is a real word but oh well) has me so excited for my fitting with Ian towards the end of this year. Will definitely be checking this video again before I make the trip.
Rogelio Ortega thank you Rogelio, we hoped you guys would like this one. Appreciate the support.
Thank you, guys. I am scheduled for a fitting in a couple of weeks. I decided to do an iron fitting first as that is my priority, and then do a separate fitting for Driver, 3W and H.
Also, some brands provide free shaft upgrades. Does that apply in a custom fit scenario?
Ian, Matt, absolutely love your channel and all the great info you provided. Thanks so much. I am over 65. When I did my driver fitting I took two Aleve prior. That allowed me to hit about 60 drives before running out of gas. Working with a great fitter like yourself is real privilege and a real learning experience. It’s actually a lot of fun.
hi2meb thank you, we really appreciate you guys and you give us the fuel to keep providing the best content we can!!
What Ian and Matt are talking about here is 100% true, I came in for a fitting and was 100% nervous and was worried not so much about being judged but most so about my ability to make good shot. I had a terrible time hitting my driver that day, so we just moved on to the irons and Mike and I nailed that part of the fit. Biggest thing I can suggest before going to your fitting is demo a bunch of different clubs and come with some what of an idea of what you like. It will make the fitters job so much easier and you the much more confident in hitting clubs you’ve already have a feel for
Excellent video, going in for a fitting and have older clubs. Concerned on how to compare clubs as my cleveland VAS 7 iron has 33. 5 degrees of loft, and the new M6 for example is 28.5. Obviously the loft differences with cause a distance difference. Should I compare irons of the same loft or does it not matter? Thanks
I am about to start my career as a fitter and I hope I can bring the same knowledge and passion that you guys do.
Congrats and hope the career is goin well. That’s awesome!
You'll l likely get many people traveling to TXG to get fit IMO. You guys are the best and obviously care about your clients in many ways. Having recently gone through a fit at a well known international fitting chain, I left feeling like, #1 I couldn't ever afford my fit (approx $5000 for a full set which is unrealistic for an average golfer) and although there was no pressure to buy left me feeling a bit hopeless, and #2 that I really don't have any other fitting options out there locally. Honestly feel like a win win for customers might be a tiered package approach to purchase of a par package (reasonable set that includes most features of the fit, shafts, lofts/lie, heads etc), birdie package (same but slightly more premium parts) and eagle package that is top of the line components. Anyway. Thx guys. Have to gt my passport renewed and save some $$ to come see you for a fit. Ken
You guys are taking golf to the next level! I can definitely see the all around performance being the future and the vision for TXG and steering the game in the right direction. It’s about tying together equipment performance, technique, and how you play the game on the course. I think you guys, Shawn Clement, and Vision 54 should collaborate to make everything blend together. I can see you guys having your own air time on the golf channel and getting the right information, in a holistic way, out to all us.That’s what will help grow the game !
Thanks Dylan!
I play a set of Mizuno Jpx 850. Maybe 4 or 5 years old. I love the clubs and have taken good care of them. With my handicap coming down from about 28 to 16 should I look to get fit into a newer mid-handicap set?
I don’t know if you’re staying up late or getting early, but thanks for the content and the hard work!
I think it’s fair to say also guys , people go to fittings usually with a preconception of what they want , as in they already have a pretty good idea of what they want , for example they have one or 2 favorite drivers in mind , but upon completing the fitting they’ve been put into something else altogether that the fitter found was better suited for the individual by facts , the client can’t refute the facts but isn’t happy really because they wanted the latest Taylormade driver . We often want something that doesn’t suite our skill level , blades would be an easier example ,everyone loves blades but not all are consistent enough to game them . Your comment about 50+ guys coming to get fit from far away is correct , everyone would love to come , but 35-50 is where men hit their most financial peak in earnings and stability and can afford the trip , under that they are busy climbing the ladder and using funds to set up their life .always great videos guy very informative . I think it’s pretty obvious the popularity of your content and they great way you can explain the technical to the general players that every single golfer would love to get fit with you guys ,would be a dream , I guess it should be the same everywhere but the reality is it’s not , you guys are what we are judging every other fitter against .
