The difference being that China has 10 times more people than Japan. Even if their population is shrinking and aging, if China reaches half the GDP per capita they will be the largest economy and most likely the largest military in the world by far.
History has shown that a smaller economy engaging in an arms race with a larger economy is core likely to collapse than win.

For those who think these are tofu floating ships, the US military capability is something to be laughed at before WWI, design is foolish, forces are weak. But at that time, the US was already the most industrial nation in the world. Today, the most industrial nation is China, way larger than any industrial nation in the history including the US. The US does not became the military superpower overnight. It took nearly 3/4 century. So neither China. China is nothing like Imeprial Japan, IJ was much smaller than in manufacture and economy, and lack of resources, while China's manufature is larger than the US and EU combined. The truth is the US is losing its manufacture. Besides the warship builders, there is basically no shipyards to build a large ship, while China build more than 30 millon tonnage of ship a year.

First, declaring US the "most powerful country in universe." is stupid. We don't know what's going on in the nearest star system, much less in the entire universe.
Second, the fall of USSR has shown the most powerful military is worth very little if your economy is collapsing. China is investing less of its economy into its military, and more into things that have returns on investment. In the meantime the US are digging themselves into debt with tax cuts and endless wars.
Yes, US is the most powerful country on Earth. In a decade, if no World Wars happen, China will have a larger economy. In another decade it will have a larger military budget. In another decade it will have a larger military overall (it costs more to build a military than simply to maintain one).

Another senseless video...the real questions are Command capability, actual capacities of systems, robustness of systems...no one really knows. The construction of ships by numbers isn't really as important as are the robustness of systems and actual capacities...so all of this is just speculation. What anyone calls a ship means nothing...what counts are the previously mentioned categories. Another factor not mentioned is Support, the age old adage "Amateurs talk tactics, rank amateurs talk strategy, real professionals talk about logistics" applies.
