    Hmmm, I'd consider these are more in the realm of student meals/drunk meals/hangover meals/batchelor meals/lazy meals.
    I'm not British, but when I think of British food, things that come to mind are a good fry up, shepherds or cottage pie (which I douse with Worcestershire sauce, mmmm), beef Wellington, bangers & mash, a classic Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding, fish, chips & mushy peas (nicer than the variety you had there, though, haha!), Cornish pasties, steak & kidney pie (I wouldn't eat that one, myself... Steak and onion would be good, though). And if you includes desserts, then trifle or Eton mess, strawberries with cream in summer, sticky toffee pudding...

    Worcestershire sauce is amazing. I actually make a pasta sauce that is essentially a thinner rarebit sauce, but with Scotch whiskey instead of ale, a heavy Worcestershire element, chervil, and caramelized onions and serve it over rotini, then I sprinkle finely chopped fresh chives on top. It's really good, and reasonably priced if you already have the Scotch lying around, and have easy access to chervil. If you want a meat to go inside of it, I'd recommend a strong, but soft meat such as slow-cooked beef heart, mutton, or goat.

      Stargazy pie was created as a result of extreme poverty in a little Cornish village. When a series of severe storms kept the fishing boats in harbour one winter, they were left with almost nothing to eat. So they put together all their remaining scraps of food and made a pie. Later versions of the pie were decorated with mackerel heads sticking out.

    I really love your channels and I love learning about different cultures yet when I see your videos about England I can't help but be disappointed. As I'm English myself I understand this is supposed to be funny but I know that to an outside audience it is suggested that England is a backwards and uncultured country and it is rarely positive! I am not patriotic by any stretch but it would be nice to see people from other countries as interested in England as they are in your Korea videos etc and not just think it's a place of awful weather, awful company! I personally find the videos funny but it would be nice to do a video of proper English food- a roast dinner, casserole, beef wellington, steak and ale pie etc ❤️

      As a fellow brit, I agree. Perhaps include scones and crumpets, England is a great place for a variety of foods, so this is a little unrealistic.

      Also as a fellow Brit. I whole heartedly agree. The food shown in this video does not represent the UK. I'm not patriotic but I am offended with the lack of real Brisith food.

    • @MJAdams-ds6bb

      I agree with this. I'm American, but for the nearly 15 years I've lived in the UK I've found the bad food reputation is not really fair. There are plenty of good foods to choose from. Sure, there are a lot of traditional foods that look a bit boring or have odd names but a lot of them are decent if done well, and there are lots of modern dishes and restaurants that are excellent.
      That being said, you don't have to be born in the UK to appreciate beans on toast, I'd say. Add a bit of cheese or a fried egg and plenty of butter on the toast and it gets better as well, despite not looking very appetising.

  • @Ishlacorrin
    @Ishlacorrin Před 4 lety

    We do Spag / Beans on toast in Australia as well but normally we add a cheese slice to the toast first. Also the Spag / Beans taste better if you add a tablespoon of butter to them when you are heating them.
