The first time I moved to the UK I was honestly surprised by the cuisine. It seems like its a merge between every other cuisine in Europe, it has everything and nothing at the same time. I am not sure if that makes sense, but I am honestly glad you do have an amazing chain of online stores, where you can buy some really awesome food!

I'm happy that I stumbled upon this channel and the Korean Englishman. Having lived in the UK for 2 and a half years, there's so much I still have not yet discover! Glad to know more from you guys, albeit the channel focuses more on Korean culture. But hey, you get to learn 2 cultures in one channel. 😁

I love British humor. I remember as a kid, 30 years ago, as a British guy came to our home, and we were having lunch together. And I wanted to say "Que aproveche" or "Bon appetit" in English, but didn´t know why, so I asked him. He answered with dry humor "We are not that sarcastic in the UK"
This video is cracking me up 😂😂 I used to live in a care place for learning disability people. I usually said like "what the heck this name is??" when I saw supper menu. And they called most of desserts pudding even though it is just cubed fruits😂
In Texas, instead of pigs in a blanket, we have kolaches. Yes, I know other places have kolaches, but the specific kind in Texas are a sausage fully covered in kolache dough, sometimes with cheese as well. I didn’t even realise it was specifically a Texas thing until I moved and nobody knew what I was talking about lol. You can find a lot of articles about the history behind them. Some people also call lil smokies wrapped in bacon and covered in sweet sauce, pigs in blankets, which seems more like the British version.
We have something similar to the "pigs in blankets" in Spain, called "Delicias de Elche", and it's dates wrapped in bacon. It's reeeaaally good. I don't really like dates but the combination is so good 💕
In the U.S. those are called Devils on Horseback, same snack. You can also stuff the date with cheese or nuts. Not so popular anymore, was hot in the 50's and 60's.

In Texas, instead of pigs in a blanket, we have kolaches. Yes, I know other places have kolaches, but the specific kind in Texas are a sausage fully covered in kolache dough, sometimes with cheese as well. I didn’t even realise it was specifically a Texas thing until I moved and nobody knew what I was talking about lol. You can find a lot of articles about the history behind them. Some people also call lil smokies wrapped in bacon and covered in sweet sauce, pigs in blankets, which seems more like the British version.
We have something similar to the "pigs in blankets" in Spain, called "Delicias de Elche", and it's dates wrapped in bacon. It's reeeaaally good. I don't really like dates but the combination is so good 💕
I lived in Mexico, and I had those. They were good. I highly recommend dates with peanut butter and chocolate in it. It tastes like a fruity Snickers.
In the U.S. those are called Devils on Horseback, same snack. You can also stuff the date with cheese or nuts. Not so popular anymore, was hot in the 50's and 60's.

영국 특유의 우회하는 언어표현이 재밌음. 한국어는 너무 직설적인데
야돈 영어 표현이 흥미롭긴 하지만 한국어가 꼭 직설적인가 하면 그건 쓰는 사람에 따라 다른 거겠죠. 국어 시간에 배운 속담이나 사자성어를 기억해보면 비유가 굉장히 풍부하거든요.
