The author behind the “After” book phenomenon, Anna Todd, and actors Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin who take up the romantic leads in the film adaptation, speak to Eve Jackson about the book’s success, their thoughts on people calling it a toxic love story and what advice they’d give to their characters. They should've turned this into a series, not movie. So much was left out (about 95% of the book and back story need to be known)

When I first saw the trailer, I thought: “Oh boy, another lovey-dovey typical Nicholas Sparks romance film.” When I started reading After, I realized it is not a cliché romance. I got so hooked on all the books in a week. Anna is a great storyteller. I hope they come out with the second movie despite not really loving the first movie (it didn’t do the book justice for me). I want to see the books come to life. ❤️

I think it's great there is a new story with young adults learning and growing that actually have real life problems people do face every day. Getting stronger, coming into their sexuality, addiction, early trauma. A ton of people can relate to 1 or more of those things.

Honestly, I don`t understand these actors, who play in a movie based on a book and don`t read that book previously. That`s exactly the reason why Hardin in the movie and Hardin in the book seemed like two completely different characters. How can you fully and truly understand and play a character if you don`t do your research first. Just like Keira Knightley, she didn`t read Ana Karenina before filming, it`s so disappointing.
Hero wanted to play Badass Hardin. (Thats why he went for the role) The director wanted to make Hardin soft.
