- The search for the new head coach of the Super Eagles is nearing its conclusion. Shortlisted candidates will soon meet with NFF President Ibrahim Gusau and Sports Minister Senator John Enoh. Both officials have flown to London to interview prospective foreign coaches.
This decision follows Nigeria’s recent setbacks in their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, leading the NFF to promise a new head coach before the 2025 AFCON qualifiers in September. Despite internal tensions and bypassing the technical committee, the NFF is determined to appoint a coach who will excite Nigerian fans.

The corruption in NFF has assumed an in- curable dimension and bringing back a hapless bribe taker and clueless coach as Salisu Yusuf means that Nigeria will finally nail its coffin in internationsl football.It appears that those Hausa men at the helm namely Gusau and mohammed Sanusi do not want to look at good coaches we have in Nigeria but prefer in bringing the most underperforming and worst coach in Nigeria Salisu Yusuf in the picture as Eagles coach all the time.These men Gusau and Sanusi must be kicked out of the NFF and save us all these argonies.They are just there to kill our football.Infact,we should just withdraw from international football.

I repeat good coaches must be engaged.This man named Salisu yusuf in the first place is not supposed to be a Super Eagles coach.There are better qualified coaches in the land than him.Lets shun tribal sentiments and appoint better qualified coaches than him.How can we be giving our opponents a lot of advantages continually with the appointment of bad gaffers.Under Salisu yusuf watch,Kano Pillars were relegated to lower division and before you could say Jack Robbinson,the NFF appointed him almost immediately as Super Eagles coach.A failure at the end of a season,National team coach?.... Humm,what happened to the coach that won the league or the ciaches at the top of the league.Tell me,why wont we lose to Benin,lose to CAR, and struggle with lesoto when mediocres are given the job.
