John at his best.
Prudence was Prudence Farrow...Mia Farrow's sister who want to stay inside and meditate all day. And John wrote a song to draw her out into the work and the other 3 made it an incredible, beautiful 🎵 song.
So awesome you're diving into music that was from an amazing time for the World and still can make an impact today.
Great channel, Great content! Thx!!
She wanted to stay in all day because that creepy, nasty, smelly Yogi guy was putting the moves on her!
They're not some fluke, they had their finger on music like nobody before ever has.
Love the bass on this track. Vocal backing is fantastic. Paul's drumming in the finale is great. A pure Lennon song.
Many people don't know this was recorded when Ringo quit The Beatles and Paul filled in on drums. Kudos to you for obscure Beatles trivia knowledge!
The clouds will be a daisy chain 😊. I’m sure he has no clue 😂
That was always one of my faves
Segue means a transition, and it's used particularly in talking about literature and film and conversation itself, but in music sometimes also. It's pronounced like SEGway.
Also McCartney playing the drums. Ringo had got mad and walked out and didn't come back for a few days. So Paul played the drums on this track and Back In The U.S.S.R while he was gone.
No, he did not. Just Back in the USSR.
Everything is great in this track, but one Beatle really stands out - Ringo - particularly from 3:27 on.
I think Paul plays drums on this track. He also played the bass, piano and flugelhorn on it too
@@janescribner8258 I did a little search and you are correct !!. Ringo was "on vacation" from the Beatles for two weeks while he contemplated leaving the band,
Paul played drums on both this and its preceding track, Back in the U.S.S.R. Ringo had left the band for a couple of weeks before being coaxed back.
In these cut videos, you cannot use close captions in the videos. It makes it difficult for non-Americans to understand.
Yeah Back in the USSR is the opener of the album. High energy to kick things off!!! Since streaming most young people don't know the structure of how albums are put together. Now it's just random tracks without the internal logic of how an album is out together and created. Now if you have Pro Tools and a computer 🖥️ 🤷🏻🤦🏻
Siouxie and the Banshees remake of this is brilliant. They somehow make it goth.
John lennons lyrics were always pretty goth
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek True that.
True. Even Julian & Sean both liked it. By the way it's Siouxsie, not Siouxie.
Watch "Across the Universe " great movie, every scene a Beatles song, dear prudence grat scene...
Prudence was the beloved dog of John's middle career.
Nope 👎 wrong answer
I should have checked ... turns out I was remembering wrong ... "Martha My Dear" (about Paul McCartney's sheep-dog) was the bit of trivia I was mis-remembering ....Oh, well... chalk it up to another "senior moment" ...72 years young , here.
@@georgepitts1057 That’s correct. Martha My Dear is such a great song……😃 Paul’s Sheep Dog
@@georgepitts1057maybe you should edit your comment...
Einstein
I bailed when you stopped the music the first time.
I'm not sure why kids these days need to see lyrics in front of them while the singer CLEARLY comes through with every word. What's up with that?!? SERIOUSLY....what is that?!?
Are you 80 years old?
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek No.....I'll soon be 60. What a "child-like" comment to make....!!
@@DrVonChilla ah yes, it's not childish at all to get upset over someone reading lyrics from one of the greatest poets of all time.
Kid: stay in school, don't do drugs and call your mommy!
