  • Home Grown Morel Mushrooms. I wasn't sure if it was possible, but after only a couple years of introducing them to my yard I had two very large specimens pop up this year, which was very surprising to me. Some of you asked for a video to show what I have done in order to make this happen. Well these are 3 Methods I used to help encourage the growth of morel mushrooms in my yard. Check them out and see what you think about it. Give it a try and let me know if a few years down the road you start seeing some in your own yard. Best of luck and don't forget to Subscribe and hit that notification bell so you know when I'm publishing a video!

      Yeah after these I'll be honest I haven't had any more pop up. Morels are interesting. I know the conditions have to be right.

    When you rinse try adding salt to the water cut the mushrooms in half long ways the saltwater gets all the bugs out 😉 30 to 45 minute soak

    Hi, just found your channel/vid. Wow what a great technique! I just discovered 1 morel mushroom growing in my front yard, a few days ago. I remember seeing a tiny one last year, but i did'nt know what it was. I'm so excited and hope more will grow, hopefully. Should i just leave the 1 growing in the ground, or cut it up and spread its spores around? Thanks for your video! I just liked and subscribed to your video, i think you made the best video!

      Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, just saw this comment. The wind will usually spread the spores around pretty well. Natur is pretty good at getting its progeny out there.

      That's hard to do since it could takes over a year or two. I think I posted another video of how I got the spores introduced to the ground.

    I had this giant fungal growth next to one of my trees here in Indiana. What a fucking idiot! I killed it.. Now I know that it was the biggest damn king brain morel mushroom anyone has ever seen, lol. I hope I can get it growing again this summer. It had to be a record.

      really so you spread them in ashes?

    • @AdmiralAckbar666
      @AdmiralAckbar666 Před 5 lety +2

      Wild Mushroom Hunter he adds ashes to his spore slurry and gets phenomenal results! Just add a little pinch of salt as an antimicrobial and molasses for nutrients. If you're getting them already you could probably have a little farm going by adding a few shaded areas for them to fruit under.

    • @WildMushroomHunter
      @WildMushroomHunter  Před 2 lety

      Since the original mushrooms came up, I have not yet had any more come up in my yard. Sometimes it take a while for the mushroom to develop a large enough mycelium and the right conditions to fruit though. So I'm waiting patiently.

  • @RLWathen

    if you pored your water that you soaked your mushrooms in in the yard that is more likely to be the reason you had success.

      @WildMushroomHunter  Před 3 lety +1

      No it is not a false morel, this is a true morel. Looks like a normal morel to me. We have several different forms in british columbia. Blacks, greys, greens, blondes. They're all true morels.

    • @WildMushroomHunter
      @WildMushroomHunter  Před 3 lety

      It is not a yellow morel. We don't have many of those in British columbia. Most of ours are fire morels and one of them is the Conica or Black Morel which this one appears to be to me.
