Matthews wasnt robbed. he should never have been a Hart nominee to begin with.
That's a bold take. I think Matthew's having 43 more goals then the guy in third on the team deserves to be considered amongst the players most valuable to their team.
He simply was mogged way to hard when it comes to point totals... so much that it outweigh the 12 extra Goals he had over Reinhart!

Adam is not an NHL player. The players are who voted for the Ted Lindsey award.
Mathews does not control the play of pace near as much as any of the other players
70 goal seasons are rare, no debate. Wayne Gretzky did it 4 times! Brett Hull had 3, Mario Lemieux had 2 and Jari Kurri had 1 70 goal season. I think it happened with 4 others but I could be wrong..."To, THE GOOGLE!!!"

MacKinnon is top 4 in goals, top 3 in assists, top 2 in points, not to mention 6th in plus minus. Kucherov is 10th in goals and well outside the top 100 in plus minus in spite of his point total. McDavid has almost 20 goals less than MacKinnon, and Matthews is only top 5 in goals. This shouldn't be much of an argument.
I dont understand this Kucherov has a big point difference with the second guy.

If you ask me, its a wash looking at the stats really. Colorado had the better depth while Tampa the top end. Gonna be curious to see who wins this
comparing team points shouldn't play into it. Tampa and the Oilers are in different divisions and one is harder than the other.

Let's not forget that this is still very subjective. It is what it is. It could also be possible that some players just didn't want to vote McDavid again... I'm not exactly sure how this works or who gets a vote but it is what it is!
Side note, I really don't think Matthews had a better year than Kuch. You can't argue that McDavid and MacKinnon deserve to be there, consistently but this year, I don't think Matthews really deserved it in a year when a bunch of people scored 40+ goals.
Is Zach Hyman better than McDavid? Goals are so much more important and impressive than playmaking and assists and all that after all

Keep in mind kucherov is a winger and of course right to mcdavid or matthews as centers they are more important and more responsible defensively. But name me a winger who can do what kucherov has done this season and also be great defensively. Right: nobody. And kucherov is not bad defensively even though he has many giveaways but thats a part of elite players and particulary wingers

Why mcdavid
As an Oilers fan, McDavid is impressive but he doesnt deserve either nomination this year. He had 2 injury stints, a bad system to overcome, and STILL did not overcome the accomplishments of Matthews, Kucherov, and McKinnon this year. Respect for McDavid aside, his year is NOT as good as the other nominees.
Should be Kuch/ Mac / Matthews for Hart. Im not a Leafs fan.

Its not about that, he just thinks Matthews should be in. he even admits Matthews is #3, but Mcdavid should be in instead of Kuch or Mackinnon
But the Hart is simply MVP. teammates shouldnt matter. and I’d take Mack for that, but thats my opinion and I’m biased as an Avs fan.

He already is and will continue to be regarded as such, at the end of his career. Doesn't mean he should win the Hart or Lindsey, this season.
