- Arthur Lowe will only agree to star in Ernie's play if he can meet the "star" of the Morecambe & Wise Show first. It's from the same show as the "Mutiny On The Bounty" sketch

Well said, I agree 100%. Mr Lowe even does the about-turn like Eric! AL's physical comedy is superb, the way he kisses his hand instead of hers and is tossed around by the 'lady who comes down at the end of the show' is masterly, a pleasure to watch.
Bless them they were great and made 18,000,000 Britons smile and laugh every week. Arthur Lowe was 56 , Eric Morecombe 45 and Ernie Wise 46 when this was recorded. People seemed and looked older in those days.

Even though this is almost 20 years before I was born, I absolutely love Morecambe & Wise!! I just wish I had the chance to see them live x RIP Eric, Ernie and of course Arthur Lowe too!
I'm old enough to remember Arthur Lowe as Mr Swindley in Coronation Street.
One of my fondness memories is watching M&W with my Grandmother we laughed so much.
