- There are so many disc golf discs out there ranging from all types of speeds. With that, a lot of the same discs are used by most people. so, since there is 15 different disc golf speeds I thought I would pick the best disc for every speed. Enjoy.

I have THREE of the Missilens. THEY ARE NASTY.
wanna ship one to me
I wish I could but I can’t let them go. Sorry!
@@amaupinracing aww
I have one and not a big fan. They drop like a brick.
I have two of the other version, raketen. They are amazing!
I would've went teebird for the 7 speed
Would’ve went fd
River for the win
Obviously, come on man?!
Or FD. Or Eagle. I don't think the river is anywhere near the top of 7 spedds
@@tysonkauth7232 FD all day. So many great and versatile runs.
6 speed = Axiom Crave. It's the disc people ask me about the most, because it's sooooo buttery smooth. Amazing forehand and backhand.
Yep, Crave is way better than the Relay.
I agree completely. The Crave is an absolute dream of a disc.
I would definitely pick the crave over the relay. It's more versatile.
Yes, but a Leopard is also a classic (and I mean in real plastic, not starter set stuff).
@@seymourglass26 the Axiom Crave only comes in premium plastics - Neutron, Proton, Cosmic Neutron, Plasma and Fission.
I like the unique picks, but definitely Teebird3 or Essence for 8 speed and Ballista for 14
Essence is my favorite fairyway now, very neutral
Passion for 8 speed
Passion
The ballista is way to flippy
Love the essence
Ballista pro is a popular 14 speed disc
Truth
@@damonwilliams2012 No, that's 5 speed :)
@@aliakseimemelau3 ballista pro? Na man that’s a 14 speed
Teebird3 for the 8 speed slot
Really awesome list bolstered by the fact you could really go out on a course with this "bag" and perform well. Not many holes outside a more understable option or two depending on preference
Great list! Only two things I would change are roc for 4 speed and stag in for the 8 speed.
This is a great video. You should do a series for turn and fade at each speed. Best overstable one speed. You could also incorporate specific plastics so like best three speed overstable could be the zone in flx plastic etc etc. great content, this Channel will make it for sure. If you need discs to give away or review please reach out
Rather than having discs from all speed classes choose few different speeds and for those pick under stable, stable and over stable for each speed. That way you cover all of your game situations. It really does not matter which discs you choose. Just learn to know them very well and stick to them.
The nuke, wraith, and destroyer are must haves in my bag. Wraith was the first driver I ever used and I've kept one in my bag ever since as a go to when throwing close to water hazards because I'm so familiar with how it flies at this point both forehand and backhand
I threw the 15 speed raketen for awhile before losing it 😢 less overstable than the missilen I believe though the one I had was so beat in that it would flip upside down on a power forehand. I suppose it was fast but it didn’t seem to go very far and the hex dimpling didn’t feel good to me
I own a rakaten actually, the other 15 speed from Latitude 64, I definitely don't have the arm speed for it but it's fun to throw and has a unique design.
Solid list I think the 6 speed and 7 speed are the most questionable but I like that you committed to what you thought.
Really nice list! I definitely agree there are molds of discs that are just replicas of Innova or Discraft molds.
Love the list especially since I bag a few of them and it makes them feel famous to be featured in your video. Hopefully they’ll use those positive vibes to not hit the first available next time I throw them.
How did you pick MVP Relay over the superclassic Leopard. Dx for beginners, but Drew Gibson can bomb the max weight in premium plastic
Nice list!
I used to have a missilen 15 speed driver. I remember it was fun to throw. Extremely overstable. One thing I thought was cool about the disc is there was a little plastic part on the sides with no ridges. I think it was put there to put your hand there when throwing. I was not really sure. I really liked mine. I lost it in the woods playing at my local course. I looked almost everywhere for it . Never found it
I would LOVE an update version of this
Great idea for a video. This was a very entertaining watch that I would like to see other channels copy.
Solid! I think you did a pretty good job!! I only truly disagreed on your 7 and 8 speeds, which I would have nominated a Teebird and a TL3 for, respectively, but everything else checked out! =)
Agree 100% GStar TL3 is my favorite disc in my bag.
The 15 speed missaleen is a good training disc. It's smooth where you put your fingers, for both forehand and backhand
The River is the only disagreement I have. Your list is strong besides that.
When me and my friend started out playing discgolf 6 years ago we bought one disc each. My friend bout the 15 speed Missilen. He didn't end up playing as much as us be he's probably played 30 rounds and only used Missilen. So I've thrown that crazy disc. It's very overstable but goes fast. He has colored the disc silver/gray with some spray paint.
Kaxe Z would be a good pick in the 6 slot too.
Only things I would change
6 - Crave. Same reasoning as relay but I feel like the crave is more well known and has higher usage rates.
7 - Teebird. Its too good not to be in and is way more popular than the river
10 - Anax. I'm not a discraft person, but the Anax seems more usable than the PD. Definitely underrated
Everything else is solid!
Yea I was surprised also, I think both the crave and the servo are better/more known discs in the 6(.5) speed class
Great video man! The Saint retro for slot 9 speed, and Star leopard for slot 6, and emac classic judge for 2 slot. Great list regardless. Oh and if you love the Wraith like I do, check out the Trace by MVP in neutron. It’s 💴.
should do the same list but factor in the plastic... would any change?
love the commentary
Not thinking about the sales numbers, but just the discs. Honarable alternatives imo.
If you think Buzzz is a bit too understable and MD3 too overstable, Lat64 makes Compass that flies very true to it's numbers 5501, straight all the way with a slight fade.
If you think Relay is too understable, Kastaplast makes Kaxe and Kaxe Z, they're both overstable mids and fly true to their numbers. Kaxe 6403 & Kaxe Z 6502.
Is PD too overstable, Lat64 Musket which is slightly understable at 10,4,-0,5, 2 might be right up your alley.
6 is an underrated rim width that most brands besides MVP don't mess with too much anymore. The relay, the resistor and the crave are a super nasty combo. Crave for straight-flying distance out to 400 or more, resistor for high-power flex and hyzer shots, and the relay for buttery turnovers.
Mako3 as best mid IMO. Holds any line you send, and super stable in the wind.
My two mako3 are never the discs to throw into the wind
@@tombobek2306 true for some times, but they are least affected of my lot of mids to mitigate severe head or tail winds, though in major crosswinds nothing seems to hold any line with major wind shear…
Loved my missilen gold hex. We called it my BBD big black disc. Would absolutely hammer an anhyzer forehand and you knew it would always fight back. Lost all the ones I had and definitely miss them
This feels like the most influential or popular or unique discs at each speed.
Interested to see what you see people throwing on the course.
At mine P2, Teebird3, Wave, and Daedalus are some of the discs I see a lot.
I hope you have had the chance to throw a glitch cause as a 1 speed it definitely does not just fall out of the air lmao. I kinda wish it would sometimes though
The Relay is great for forehand and backhand and glides great
My favorite 5 speed is the Apollo from Alfa disc love the feel in the hand and the trow😄😄
This disc is so smooth. Flight of a buzzz with the feel of almost a fairway driver in hand. Similar hand feel to a Crave.
I've thrown the raketen, the other 15 speed disc. It has thumb tracks, super cool disc
I love my Missilen for big spike hyzers. Decent overall list
Innova XD is the best low speed disc ever made. Super stable. I have two from early 90's and still use them every round.
This is a pretty solid listing, I would have choose the essence for the 8 speed.
Teebird3 is a way better disc than an essence
Volt has entered the chat
Was gonna say this, can literally throw any shot with that disc based on the power of your throw.
@@dc7993 Yea I have 3 volts in my bag, 1 lab2 electron that's quite Flippy, 1 beat in almost max weight fission that's very straight and 1 plasma that's more on the overstable side, have a long pushing fade when thrown on a slight hyzer
a teebird 3 can do every thing any other one can do, it can be overstable if you het the right run or if you beat it in it can be understable for your turn overs and rollers.
great to see Envy there given that is my putter and approach disc going on five years... three in bag when James put it on map... and given I am sometimes rated over 900 and as often as not registered for the year and due as many as three low level tourneys a year my opinion has corresponding clout
Well, this may be exactly what I was looking for. I grew up throwing frisbee and have been pretty good at it. I’m 63 now, so haven’t thrown much. Taught my kids to throw when they were little. My son is now 21 and is very much enjoying disc golf. I played a round for the first time with him today. Didn’t do too bad. I am considering buying all of these discs if available. Unless it is recommended to go another way. Let me know. Thank you. Liked & subbed.
6 speed - DGA Squall. If you'd have thrown it, it would have been on your list.
Solid list for sure. For 5 speed I would def have to throw my vote to the MVP Reactor. They are extremely consistent with forehand and backhand.
I love my reactor but the Hex is just soooo nice. I love it for flip up dead straight forehands and lovely straight backhands with less bite than a reactor.
Bruh, I don't bag it, but Buzz is literally the most popular disc in the game. Stop it.
@@seymourglass26 it’s highly unpopular in my bag ;)
I love throwing the missilen as forehand due to its wide rim. But there is also the Raketen out there with 15 speed, which is just slightly more understable.
I've been looking for something faster for my forehand. I'm kinda old, 56, but my arm speed is still pretty good and I throw a Lat64 Knight about 375-400 and it's a 14. If you give me a thumbs up I'll go buy a Raketen!
@@richc5825 Good Luck finding one! :)
@@KreppelSeppel Well, thanks for the optimism! 😆
I agree with almost every disc on your list except 2. 2 speed disc should be the wizard clearly IMO. Also the 8 speed should be the TL3 or the stag. Everything else on the list is spot on. Great list!
Very bold picks here..
I found a missilin on my local course ..returned to owner 3 days later..had never heard of it
My list goes like this:
1: Berg, and it's not even close. Agree.
2: JK Aviar-X / KC Pro Aviar / Big Bead Aviar / Aviar Driver (all the same mold). I like beaded putters, and I think this is the best one.
3: The Envy is a fine pick for this slot, but I like the TSA Praxis even more. Both discs are excellent on both putts and approaches. To me the Praxis is a hair better.
4: Innova Toro. To me it's the perfect overstable approach disc. It easily out-Zones the Zone.
5: This one is tough. There are so many good and different mids. The ones I bag are the MD1 (Reinvented), MD3 (Reinvented), and the Discraft Drone. IMO they are each the best at what they do. Honorable mention to the TSA Pathfinder and Westside Warship, which are also excellent.
6: OK, nobody knows about these but I'm telling ya. The Eye by Storm Discs for straight glidey shots, and The Duke by Disc Golf UK for overstable. Honorable mention to the Kastaplast Kaxe, which flies similar to The Duke.
6.5: Axiom Crave. It's no FD, but it's not bad.
7: Discmania FD (Reinvented) and it's not even close. IMO it's the best fairway disc ever made.
8: I'm gonna go with the DGA Pipeline but the Discraft Passion is a fine 8-speed as well, and so is the Lat 64 Saint Pro if you can find one. I don't typically bag a speed-8 and I don't feel strongly about these pics.
9: Innova owns the 9-speeds. Valkyrie, Thunderbird, Firebird, depending on the shot. Take your pick, they're all phenomenal. And if you can find a Champion Viking, it's excellent too. Oh! Also, the Discmania CD2 belongs on this list. It was made by Innova too.
10: Discmania PD / Innova Power Disc. I agree with you here. It's magical. The new C-Line Reinvented model doesn't quite measure up. I'm curious about the new Special Blend S-Line that's about to come out. We'll see. But for now I'm going with the older Innova-made mold.
10.5: TSA Animus. There are no other 10.5-speeds that I know of, but it deserves mentioning. Many people prefer it to the Wraith.
11: I certainly understand the Wraith in this slot. But I also understand that many think the Royal Grace beats it. For some reason I just can't throw them well. Personally, I like the MVP Wave or the Viking Ragnarok, but both are on the slightly understable side compared to the Wraith and Grace.
12: For pure distance, Destroyer, sure, it's hard to argue. But it depends on the plastic and the run. Or maybe the DD3 is better overall. I also think the Discraft Force is the best at what it does (go straight and far and then fade hard).
13: Dynamic Discs Sheriff. Fight me. I'll throw this over a Destroyer any day. OK, except windy days.
14: Ballista. I have an Opto Chameleon one that's more stable than others I've tried, and man does it go far. Honorable mention to the Westside Queen, which might be the farthest flying disc I own when there's a tailwind.
14.5: Axiom Excite. MVP/Axiom has several molds that they at least at one time claimed were 14.5-speed. Of these, I like the Excite the best.
15: I have both the Raketen, which is slightly understable, and the Missilen, which is overstable. Of these I choose the Missilen, but I would still pick a speed-12 Force to execute the same shots.
Missilens and Raketans are great. The Raketan is my go-to distance driver
This is kinda good concept, but I'd make an improvement and make best disc for each speed in each stability category, like "for high winds", overstable, stable, understable and flippy.
I like my Pharoah for a 12 speed.
I do love my Valkyrie as well
Over all i like your list. Its hard to choose only one disc in several of these spots tho. Me personally love discmania and latitude64 over most of these other brands. But thats my opinion. Some like cats and some like dogs i guess.
14 speed id say its probably the Ballista Pro. it seems like one of the only 14 speeds thats thrown consistently at the pro level
Very respectable list. I wouldn't change much. For the 6-speed, the crave is a bit more popular than the Relay, but they're so close to each other. Either is fine. Also for the 8-speed the Volt or the Essence would have my pick.
Maybe I suck because the only disc I throw from your list is the Buzz (but o have three of them!). 10-11 is my speed and I love the Sapphire (10) and Mystere and Scorch (11). But I've got a noodle arm, so... Thanks for a quick and helpful overview. Subscribing now!
Most people who throw our disc the Honey tell us they are using it to replace their Zone because it doesn't get tossed in the wind as much and has a Buzzz like feel.
I have a speed 15 disc! Raketen fron latitude. It was my first disc ever 😅
Missilen is interesting. It is by far the fastest disc to go 300 feet ever made, but dont expect it to go much further. It feels like it just doesnt want to fly. For reference, I throw a destroyer 450.
Fd and teebird3?
also, roc and essence are great too
I wonder if Latitude 64's Rive will ever compete with the Nuke. All the trilogy pros are throwing it now. That Royal Grand plastic is fantastic!!
I love that he showed Another Round Disc Golf in Charlotte, NC in his video lol
2: Judge is the best putter to start with. Works for intermediate players too.
3: Envy is the best by default here.
5: M4, Roc or Buzz are all in my bag. M4 is the straightest, Roc I can manipulate the most, Buzzz has the perfect fade.
7: F3 is such a solid fairway driver or for those 200+ straight throws.
9: Valkyrie, FX4 & Ronin are all great for backhands & forehands. The FX flies straightest & the Ronin gets the most curve.
10: Avenger SS can do it all for my backhands. Maybe the most underrated disc there is.
11: Wraith is better for forehands imo. This is also the speed I notice most players starting out can't quite get so get a 9 speed before getting to these.
12: Falcor & Destroyer. The destroyer gets all the pub and is obviously great but let me tell you the Falcor is awesome! I LOVE this disc. It's a nice compliment to it and flies different enough to justify space in your bag.
13: Katana & D3. Personally I like the Katana more for backhands and the D3 more for forehands with how forgiving it is. The D3 has a HARD fade so don't be afraid to anhyzer the hell out of it to get around a late tree bend.
Bought a Missilen when they first came out. I was excited to give it a try. Threw it one time… into a river, never to be seen again. 🤦🏻♂️
Dude pretty much did a what's in the bag video for me. With 4 exceptions.
My only argument is 1 the glitch. It feels better in the hand. The glitch is a different way to approach. That's what 1 speed disc are supposed to be.
personally i would probably put Mako3 at the 5 speed. But great list!
I vote explorer for the best 7 speed spot
The Vulture is my favorite 10 speed, but I’ve never thrown a PD so I don’t really have a say haha
for 4 speed i would have gone with the ROC
Its not speed 4 its 5
@@onni6996iha perus dx roc 4 4 0 3

1. Berg
2. Aviar
3. Envy
4. Zone
5. Buzzz
6. Crave
7. FD
8. Teebird3
9. Firebird
10. Anax
11. Wraith
12. Destroyer
13. Nuke
14. Ballista Pro
15. Missilen
Out of all the disc's I have I use my Zombie the most. I find myself using it almost the entire game. I drive, approach and putt with the damn thing lol
I have actually owned both 15-speed drivers, a Missilen and Raketen. Being a forehand player the Raketen was awesome, but I don't have the arm to get the full use out of it so it made way for a Photon eventually. The Missilen was in my bag maybe 2 rounds. Just not for me.
Raketen works well on flick forehands too, plenty of glide with just a little touch, it's currently not in my bag due to me getting too creative on the course and needing to get back to basics again for a while.
I would have the Eagle and Raptor both on my list but other than that you've got a good list.
The top 3 for each speed would make for a very interesting video
A really cool and unique list but I would have picked the leopard for the 6 speed.
7 - (Teebird), 8 - (Essence).. I like the Teebird, TL, and Underworld all more than the River. Essence and TL3 are great 8s.
** 7 - FD
Pretty crazy to not have the roc and teebird on this list.
I've gor the Missilen in 176g....it DOES fly!!! Got it in San Marcos
Ive got a 14.5 speed delirium from axiom and its ridiculous lmao
6 speed I’d go with a dga squall, sweet video!!
Fully agree with you! And I would further specify a max or near max weight SP line squall. not sure why it’s not that popular but I can easily play an entire round with just that disc and it’s really fun to throw. IMO the older ones from like 7-10 years ago are the best.
@@adnanqureshi4761 same!! gotta be a heavy SP. i have a beat in LE squall from 2010 masters cup that is gre3at too
Really dissing Dynamic Discs not having a single one of theirs on there. I'd have to put the Maverick on there for sure.
Speed 7: discmania fd
Speed 4: prodigy A2 (at least the beaten in variant)
Warship at 6 in my opinion but I understand. Also not having the ballista/pro at 14 felt criminal. innova dominates 7 speeds but picking the river over the explorer felt off as well but once again, not my list so I respect it!
I wanna say, the rounded rim of the bhorium makes it harder, not easier, to throw
At least if you have shorter fingers
I now only throw MVP/Axiom disks! Love them!
Respect for the bohrium I love that
Surprised by the 7 speed not being a teebird as thats way up there like a destroyer for innova guys. I prefer a eagle but im weird
If wanting Latitude 64 on the list, you should have added the Explorer instead of River, a top top 7 speed disc. And besides that one, the leopard 3 from Innova is such a great 7 speed driver!
I would go with a Teedbird3 for 8 speed, but otherwise good list!
gotta be fd for me
@@dc7993 Isn’t FD 7 speed? That was my choice for 7
The missilian bombs. Pretty stable. But it goes.
Honestly, I struggle to believe that any disc is the "best". Is a Zone really that much different from a Harp, Toro, A3, Tactic, etc? A destroyer really that much different from a DD3, D2, Zeus, etc? A buzzz any different from a Mako3? Firebird different from a Felon, Cap Rap, or FD3? I get the point about sales, absolutely that makes sense. But aside from that, different runs fly differently, different plastics feel different, they all fly pretty much the same anyway. Just my two cents
Edit: the only one I can think of is the Boss, given the world records have been set with it
I think to a large extent you have a point. Manufacturers see what's working and copy each other. No mold more-so than the Destroyer. But they tweak them. In my experience, the D2 is more understable (unless you're comparing it to a beat-in Pro Destroyer - those things are flippy!). The DD3 was made by Innova too, and I think they wanted it to feel like a slightly beat-in Destroyer out of the box, so I think they tweaked the shape to give it a touch more glide. The Mako3 has a different feel than the Buzzz and generally can't handle as much torque, but will go even straighter than a Buzzz when thrown lightly. The Toro is more overstable than any Harp or Tactic or Zone I've ever thrown, and less glidey than an A3. It's harder for me to tell differences from Firebird-like molds - they all just dump out. 😆
No crave?
Buzzz rulz, gotta have one of thozzzz
for 6 speed check out the warship by westside. incredible mid that deserves way more attention and sales.
Its a 5 speed 6 glide!
@@YoungOneJim my VIP air warships are 6/5/0/1 can't post photos here or I would
@@YoungOneJim it is weird though that 5 speed versions exist. I wonder if they changed something in production. If you go watch danny lindahls review the numbers are at 6 speed, but disc golf examiners tests have 5 sped ones, but they were at 6 for a long time.
@@ericburgmeier1100 They updated these from being a 6 speed to a 5 speed a few years back. Interchangeable honestly since those things just fly forever,
I have an Origio Burst Warship and it’s 5,5,0,1.
7 Speed - Discmania FD
2nd, jackal, swirly jackal, 6th run luster, etc: so many great runs.
It's just such are versatile mold; switching plastics can achieve consistent: Rollers, turnovers, flex shots, hyzer flips, and long hyzers.
Think I would go with the Essence for 8 speed
