I'm here to note a synchronicity: I've just started catching up recently on all these Best of The Worst videos. I watched this one yesterday. This morning, I'm checking movie showtimes for a shitty rainy Saturday evening and playing at my local arthouse cinema is Tammy and the T-Rex.
Are you guys sure you watched all of Tammy and the T-Rex? He ate the rose, because he had eaten a rose as a joke in front of her in an earlier scene. He was trying to show her that he was her boyfriend. Also, the mad scientist DID say what his plan was -- it was to create a business out of transplanting human brains into robots, to make people immortal. He needed the dinosaur as an example to show investors. And that movie is an underrated masterpiece of bad cinema.
Three amazing things about Theodore Rex: 1) it’s a Roger Rabbit with dinosaurs instead of toons, hence the torch singer 2) then Zootropolis is basically this speciesist police plot 3) the mad scientist plot is about as childish and convoluted as Jurassic World 2
The TV show dinosaurs stopped in 1994, and looking at a lot of the costumes in Theodore Rex it feels like they were trying to re-use them and get some more utility before throwing them into storage.
I read that the original version of _Theodore Rex_ was a standard gritty buddy-cop film (along the lines of _Lethal Weapon)..._ that just-so-happened to have a humanoid T-Rex as one of the partners because the writer wanted to make one element of the story really "out there." But the studio decided to make it a kids' movie. I feel like if they had went in the original direction and treated the film 100% seriously (down to having either a PG-13 or R rating), and cast someone like a Bruce Willis as the human lead... *...BUT* also peppered in subtle meta-jokes about the buddy-cop and action genres, and *never* once acknowledged the bizareness of there being humanoid dinosaurs... the movie *might* have worked as a weird-ass satire of action movies and film tropes/conventions.
I, for some godforsaken reason, decided to rewatch "The World is Not Enough" recently and I came (heh) to the conclusion that the entire reason her character exists in that movie at all is for Bond's one-liner joke at the end of the movie when he gets to say "I thought Christmas only comes once a year". I watched Tammy the other night, and it didn't seem like it was edited down at all. We were laughing at how generous they were being with the gore. It was brilliant. Also it was definitely titled Tanny And the Teenage T-Rex, and had a different title card. Also in that version you saw, I saw that it had TAMMY edited in to the credits - like they just superimposed MM over her name to correct it. Pretty wild. So...was there a new cut released?

Biggiiful no way, there's no way he could've resisted rich evans this long
Gingerosity that's a fair point
You can always date a BotW video by the number of Nukie copies.
Really would love a Plinkett review of Howard the Duck, with the addition of Plinkett kidnapping George (rich) in his basement, two great mad minds pitted against each other in mutual psychosis . :3
They actually tried working on a commentary track, but just ran out of things to talk about. They even tried doing it drunk, and it still didn't work. They say that the movie is so generically bad that it's hard to really talk about it.
@@umjackd Why can't my patreon dollars go for that. It would be entertaining as hell to hear them sputter out.
I couldn't figure out why I like Jack, but now I know. He's intent on bringing sanity to an insane world.
I love Jack! ❤️... He is always so happy & positive! 👏👏👏
As a die hard fan of horror, I can honestly & without any shame say that Carnosaur’s one of the most underrated horror movies I’ve ever seen
This. I'm not even joking. It has a more interesting plot and scenes than Jurassic Park. There, i said it. Jurassic park has a whole subplot with the IT guy selling secrets, the stupid kids, a scene where a guy is eaten while on the toilet and a huge pile of poo. Which one is the B movie again?
@@Eisenwulf666 Not only that, but it's predictable AF. The SECOND we see Dennis Nedry, I pretty much instantly knew how the movie was going to go on from there
Jack softly whispering "oh my god" is the best part of this episode
I'm here to note a synchronicity: I've just started catching up recently on all these Best of The Worst videos. I watched this one yesterday. This morning, I'm checking movie showtimes for a shitty rainy Saturday evening and playing at my local arthouse cinema is Tammy and the T-Rex.
It’s the 25th anniversary. It was just at the Grand Illusion here in Seattle as well.
Maybe they forgot?
Does anyone know if the edited version they watched had those scenes? Or were they removed?
@@josiahagin2100 it was and there’s a gore version out there
@@mrea1504 Yeah I now realize that. Would love to see them do a ReView of this film but instead they talk about the uncut version.
"She pours booze on Paul Walkers brain and does striptease for camera that is his eyes" that is why i love rlm
Three amazing things about Theodore Rex:
1) it’s a Roger Rabbit with dinosaurs instead of toons, hence the torch singer
2) then Zootropolis is basically this speciesist police plot
3) the mad scientist plot is about as childish and convoluted as Jurassic World 2
fun fact: whoopi goldberg was legally forced to star in theodore rex
did Bright rip off Theodore Rex?
and did T,R rip off alien nation!.
Ooooh myyyy goooood
Yes. And Shadowrun.
@@DuamnFigueroa This. Bright is just poorly done Shadowrun.
I'd love to see the gang revisit Tammy and the T-Rex once the gory R-Rated cut is on blu-ray
Hopefully we see more of Denise Richards too...
I went back to this after seeing that to find mentions of it.
The TV show dinosaurs stopped in 1994, and looking at a lot of the costumes in Theodore Rex it feels like they were trying to re-use them and get some more utility before throwing them into storage.
They forgot Cuba Gooding Jr's latest dinosaur masterpiece. Dino Day Camp.
You know that Tammy and the T-Rex is a guaranteed masterpiece when you see "Mac and Me" is made by the same director!
I love how you can see the set for Half In The Bag behind Jay and Wizard.
Can we have an episode of worst of the worst with the mario bros movie, nukie, and to catch a yeti.
that would be the greatest thing ever
How about "Nukie", "Pod People" and "Mac and Me"?
Also, there's already a Worst of the Worst; its called "Wheel of the Worst."
And the spy kids films. Plus sharkbky and lavagirl. I could die happy if those were the on botw at some point.
@@Namfooodle they can never do nukie. they're collecting together every copy ever made so they can burn them all on a ceremonial pyre
Holy F theodore Rex had a $33,000,000 budget! o_O
Listen closely at 23:03, the electronic number pad ACTUALLY SAYS OUCH.
I would bet money that the Theodore Rex costumes were reused in fear and loathing in Las Vegas for the lizard bar scene
Oh my god Tammy and the T rex plays on the TV in the new game Rich and Mike do voices in called High on life
Most people don't know that after the fatal car accident, Paul Walker's brain was placed inside a dinosaur.
Wow, I'm going to hell for that one.
The ending of Tammy the dinosaur was actually the original ending to Furious 7
+ShowgunSam nice
+ShowgunSam it's funny cause he's dead!
+ShowgunSam I saw it
+Jacob Felger You're not walking away from that one
I don't know who is deader: Paul Walker, Bernie from weekend at Bernie's, or Denice Richards' career.
That's it! Her character is completely worthless to the rest of the movie!
@@thejunksynchronhero i'd not thought about her for years so i googled her....that was a mistake, she looks like a plastic surgury junkie with a bad dealer.
@Glen Tennis She is, however, slightly deader than Joe Biden, though less dead than Jeffery Epstein. Who can't be accused of not killing himself. Allegedly.
Yes.
Look, Denise Richards was in Money Plane, so she has that going for her.
As a person who grew up watching Theodore Rex COUNTLESS times as a child. I can say i also had no idea what the fuck was going on in this movie and was just happy to see a trex
It horrifies me that someone actually thought Theodore Rex should have a DVD release, and not just be left behind in the world of VHS.
Gotta make that $52million back somehow
When my dad bought our first dvd player, it contained about 10 movies in the box, Theodore Rex being on of them.
@@miljoneir same! I thought it was a weird movie even as a kid but had this strange charm to it. Kids movie for sure but mad cute still tho. Fairy taleesque
Is Theodore Rex just Zootopia with dinosaurs?
more like Bojack Horseman with Dinosaurs since it also has humans in it
Don't even put Theodore Rex in the same category as Bojack Horseman!
Bojack is an AMAZING show don't get me wrong. I'm just saying the worlds are somewhat similar with dinosaurs co-existing instead of animals
Tales of a Pre-sequel Gooooootcha!!
Yeah, pretty much lol
Having watched the noncensored version of Tammy and the T-Rex i'm surprised that they didn't find the high gore version.
It's pretty spectacular.
Siskel & Ebert's Carnosaur review: Siskel & Ebert - Carnosaur (1993)
thank you lol
Dat sound quality tho.
Jay's equipment is still suffering the consequences of that table flip by Rich Evans.
Oh for a second I thought my speakers were dying, I was kinda pissed I just go these fucking things
*****
no cause it was on there end
I've seen Theodore Rex recently while trying to find new movies to include in bad movies nights with friends and booze. Since that day I'm considering buying every copy of it I can find to burn them all, so that nobody else ever has to suffer through it.
"Maybe we'll put these aside to watch another day."
Me, five-and-a-half-years-later. Oh well Jay. OH WELL.
Cinepocalypse 2019 is going to show the R rated cut of Tammy and the T-Rex.
I can't wait to see that with all of the guts and gore back in the movie, and maybe a live reaction to that ending.
This has to be one of my favorite episodes. Something about Mike not being there and it just being nineties dinosaur movies.
The opening text crawl for Theodore Rex is narrated by Rodger Bumpass, similar tone to his Professor Membrane voice in invader zim. Better known for voicing squidward tentacles
Jay looked SWOLE as FUCK in that one.Great forearms and good biceps.
"No movie has made me feel as much as Theodore Rex." This is one of the great lines of the 21st century.
Yes the gore cut
The horrifying thing is that creating a dinosaur from chickens is still more scientifically feasible than creating one from 70+ million year old half digested blood and frog eggs
Neither is scientifically feasible. The project you're talking about with chickens is currently no more than speculative.
@@MegaZeta um actually...
"I wanna DIE!" What a way to return! I love how that's *THE* first thing we hear right after the "break"! And Jurassic Park theme with the "Cookies scene"?! That's the best!
