That whole segment where they riff on the whole cast waking up hungover with the passed-out kids and Santa Claus props everywhere is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long while

As a Mexican, I can confirm that our version of Santa Claus doesn't live in the clouds with Merlin and all the other things. The filmmakers made it all up. It's a typical Mexican movie from the 50s to 80s that tended to have everything and the kitchen sink in them and a long running time.

Every now and then, when I'm having a bad day, I put it on regardless of the season. Watching the customers faces, as they realize it is playing in July, gives me a sort of sadistic joy.
I have nothing but respect for that movie. It's whimsical, full of interesting visuals and a cozy christmas-y feeling. It comes from a different, perhaps more "innocent" time where you could have a simple "good children gets rewarded" story. Meanwhile Xmas vacation 2 is a joyless endeavour

I weirdly remember owning Christmas Vacation 2 through most of my later childhood. It existed in our dvd cupboard for years but we never actually watched it because the first was our easy pick for Christmas viewing. It's probably still in that cupboard

They shot a boat on a studio green screen indoors with flat lighting and it's supposed to look like it's on the water. Plus it was a rush job kinda show too. Yuck.

Mike and Rich are my favorite out of everyone. Rich has grown on me a lot, plus his laugh is holy.
We all know Rich Evans' laugh is great, but Jay's off-camera laugh at 18:26 is pretty awesome as well..
They should bottle Rich's laugh and sell it as a cure for every disease out there.

I weirdly remember owning Christmas Vacation 2 through most of my later childhood. It existed in our dvd cupboard for years but we never actually watched it because the first was our easy pick for Christmas viewing. It's probably still in that cupboard

@@michaelfranke8622 I didn't have a choice. That was one of the shows the company I worked for got vfx shots for. We had a supervisor and a client who gave us input on how they wanted them to look. They shot a boat on a studio green screen indoors with flat lighting and it's supposed to look like it's on the water. Plus it was a rush job kinda show too. Yuck.
