    I was wondering what your thoughts are on Malwarebytes Premium. I have it on my desktop PC and two laptops. Have had it for many years now and (knock on wood) never got infected once.

    Yes Brian I do enjoy this sort of video albeit a little beyond my expertise. Now it is generally thought or said that it is not a good idea to run more then one security suite on the same machine and as I have ESET Smart Security setup on my machines is it ok to run say SuperAntiSpyware or MBAM as one off runs?

    I wonder how often people get hacked on Linux. I'm using Linux nowadays, and the growing number of malware for Linux is concerning to say the least, so what would you recommend I do to stay extra safe on Linux? (Not that I'm not already staying safe, I am, I'd just like to hear what you recommend.)

    I keep Task Manger and Resource Monitor opened on the taskbar at all times. Also Networx or similar, so I can visually see net traffic, and spot large downloads or uploads I haven't requested. Lots of programs start updates when you want to prioritise a download, so Resource Monitor is good for suspending those. It's well to click at the top of each column of TM and RM, to see which part is having most activity and from which processes.

    Thank you for this video. Im not very good with computers but I have a laptop that I let my IT friend remote into through some website to fix an issue I was having. The issue was fixed but some of my family told me I shouldn't have let him do that because he could install whatever he wanted and spy on me. I don't think he would do that necessarily but I have my doubts. I have since factory resetted the computer and chose all the options to clean the drivers and completely reset the computer as I could see. How effective would that be in removing anything he might have installed? Ive not noticed any weird behavior from my laptop. But I didn't know if there was a way to evade a rset like that or if you could do something to the Bios or i dont even know what. My knowledge and understanding of these things is very limited and fractured. Is there a way I can be sure that everything is ok and no spyware for this specific situation?

    Backing up your data after or whilst you're dealing with a malware infection is risky in and of itself. As any malware worth its weight in salt would also poison any data that is likely to be backed up.

    thanks again, I tried 14 days Antimalware , tried and uninstalled and once I got back to Windows security it didnt work and I thought I was hacked, I had to give access again from settings but I couldnt, had to do it on secure mode....ufffff....do you recommend Eset + Malwarebytes ? I see you use a free version but that only remains 14 days...any tip or video on your best recommendation ? thanks for keeping us safe, have a great weekend you too 🥰

    Here's another sign: You open your emails and discover there are ads ...ads and even more ads, daily. These ads are not only in your big window (for lack of a better term), but when you store your SAVED emails in category's, they too are being pilfered by microsoft. In short, if you have stored baby pictures, emails from private people, your saved emails are filled from top to bottom by microsoft and their ads....... so much for privacy.

    Presumably connecting to the internet through a VPN server will provide an extra level of protection to any AV product already installed on your PC. VPN providers are going to be extra mindful about front end protection given the liability issues for them involved.

    • @writerpatrick
      @writerpatrick Před rokem

      VPNs won't do anything to protect you. The virus is on your computer. All VPNs do is to hide your IP address or make it appear as if you're in another location.

    Hello and thank you for the Informational videos which really helps us alot. I have a question for you, I received a notification on my pc saying (Your pc needs to be restarted to finish setting up this device: Xvdd SCSI Miniport) which I think something suspicious running on my pc. Could you please tell me what this is and how can I remove it.
    I appreciate you for the help.

    • @ewiseman3683
      @ewiseman3683 Před rokem +2

      @ Brave Man - the Xvdd SCSI Miniport stands for Xbox Virtual Disk Drive which is a Virtual disk drive on your machine.
      As its name hints, Xvdd is NOT connected to your system physically. It's usually used by certain Games and Software for particular purposes, such as creating Virtual disks for storing Games/software data.
      And is very likely related to the Driver belonging to one of the XBox gaming Features / Applications / Games installed on your PC or the Xbox Game Service itself.
      Thus, You may want to check your Microsoft Store recent updates. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the Xbox Game service itself or some of your Games that just auto-updated. Regardless, there is No concern; it's not a threat.
