We've all seen how Oath, Chronicles of Elyria, DreamWorld and Earth 2 have been scamming the community over the course of the last year, right?
They've been covered to death by this point. And rightfully so. This, however, is perhaps one of the largest scams I've ever seen since beginning this channel.
Now this isn't the first time this has happened, and it definitely won't be the last time it'll happen. I've seen it occuring more and more frequently recently, but this is the first time I've seen it happen for a game that requires a purchase.
So, guys, be careful out there, especially when it comes to downloading games based off of their trailers. Look around for legitimate gameplay of the game before you opt to spend anything on it. Trailers are very misleading.
And this isn't a case where you can just move on because you downloaded a free game on your phone. This is something you spent money on.
Do your due diligence and don't be taken scammed or advantage of.

Evertale trailer footage: Junkyard Joe
/ @junkyardjoe1419 - Hry
This is disgusting. Abhorrent. To fake a trailer to this magnitude, and trick people into BUYING YOUR GAME! Yes, instead of continuing to develop a game that players genuinely want to play, want to share, the team behind Evertale has resorted to something as drastic as the fabrication of of everything from the horror-themed narrative, graphics engine and entire style of the game. And, while the cost of the game is only $1, there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of players that this will reach, all of which have the potential to purchase this game, leading to this being one of the biggest lies - biggest scams right now. This should not *ever* be an acceptable practice.
X good today thanks 😊 love you frrijucddxdddd de ffssweeee

Well at least we have Palworld (soonTM) to sate our evil sadisti- I mean, to sate our want to save and help monsters. 🙂
This is why it is legal to sue for false advertisements, if I spent my money thinking I'd get the game in the ad, and I got this, you bet your ass I'm gonna sue you for falsly advertising a game you do not have. This is why I can't even trust mobile game ads anymore, because this I'd almost always how it goes. They show you a product in the ad that is maybe partially related to the actual product, but over all almost nothing alike either. Sad days for gamers.
the game is free what are you talking about one dollar???????
make more positive shit, this is dumb.
I actually wanted to play a creepypasta pokemon game
Same I was hoping I was exited when I saw the ad
I'm so disappointed that evertale isn't what it advertised
@@yolomasta6940 I agree
Same here, i was lured by the fake ads. I wanted a damn creepy game
There's a rom called Pokemon snakewood. Closest I've found to it
So let me get this straight. They straight up stole scenes out of Omori and Pokemon to create an ad for a game that plays nothing like either game?
Pretty much.
Yep
Yep and its infuriating
Used to be a really good game with no advertising but they ruined it
@@rjroseboro that's true, I'm really disappointed by this. The character and the story is really great, it has a lot potential.
One of their ads shows a small house, a young woman and a professor. There is a small monster tied up and terrified trying to run away. The Prof. says that there is an old monster breeder that became obsessed and became a monster herself, so they feed her monsters to keep her calm but it doesn't work. It shows the monster being yanked inside the cabin by long shadowy clawed hands and then blood.
A second one was a girl walking and a mirror world being shown, then some test, the mirror breaks and it shows a monster.
Those ads are what got me interested and when i saw and played it, it was immensely disappointed. So, i can understand the frustration for the scammy ads and why so many are upset because evertales team if just ripping people off IF they were brought in by the horror rpg genre (of which i personally love). I will also now be looking for playthroughs ect, if i see more ads like this for other games
Yeah i seen
I got these ads too, but i didn't find the premise “pokemon but scary“ that interesting, but i wanted to see some gameplay, came to this video and, honestly?, how did i not expect that they were doing false advertising
That first one you described showed up for me when I clicked on this video
Report Evertale to the FTC. They'll help you get a refund after you got scammed
They still don't have a law against false advertising that protects the consumers?
Evertale actually used to be a good game devs weren't greedy drop rates were high until they sole there game to a different company and it went to shit
Mobile gacha in a nutshell
Yep, I play Evertale. Its actually a huge shame, the game used to be fun before the devs became lazy.
Yes! It had surprisingly good drop rates and I was able to accumulate pulls fairly quickly.
@@axirex603 Me too..I used to play maybe years ago but deleted it cause I switched devices..I literally came back and restarted a new world and I was so disappointed to see many of my fav characters have been changes and even the fact that the good female characters have been turned into fanservice material *cry*..I'm still playing the game cause if the story but I hate the overall rates of the gacha with only a 1% rate of an SSR...THATS BULLSHIT !..I didn't even knew that this game had ads and that they are So misleading...I miss the old version of the game
OOH! So it was sold to another company (and that company is greedy)... Shame on the new developers
Damn, I was actually excited and wanted to see gameplay. I hope those devs get what they deserve for trashing a good idea and scamming people out of their money
I like ya name pimp
Nah they probably made stupid money with that shit. Basically untouchable as well because they are probably not American(generally Chinese or east european) where consumer rights laws are stronger. They will keep doing it as long as they get downloads and a player base
Thats why I don't download any game I see on utube ads unless there is non sponsored gameplay that exists for it.
@@vidhanp482 They're located in Japan.
as evertale player i must tell you, maybe ads are scams, but hell its a good game and they scam noone
@@agent-ir7el you can argue it’s a good game sure, but you can’t argue they aren’t scamming through false advertising.
I honestly don't know why they don't just make the game they portray in the ads. Same with those facebook ads that show a puzzle game like "save the princess" and then when you download the game it's actually just a farmville ripoff. It seems like it would be easier to just make that game for real instead of pretending.
RIGHT?!?
They know what people want, but no one is willing to actually make it.
What's the most sad to me, the actual game looks more appealing than their ads. The recent one I've seen steals the Pokemon orthagonal view but still doesn't look like the gameplay you showed. Man.
this
currently on part 2 of the main game (post final boss iykwim)
I played this game for more than half a year and collected many characters and story is also pretty decent but since the version 2.0 is launched only god knows what happened to the game developers

Bro, I remember playing this game back when it actually was just a normal Pokemon type game which was actually pretty alright.
Seeing it now, after a few years. All I can say is wtf happened.
If you'r speedrunning the pokemon-like genre gone in less than 1 hour. I remember it has 3 chapter when i was playing and only 1 chapter is like pokemon.
Ikr, I hope they'll do something about this.
Yeah, a decent Pokémon rip-off with classic fantasy RPG elements seemed fun, wouldn't mind the 0.99 price tag... downloaded. Had a fun 20 minutes, then the gacha system showed up with oversexualised characters.
Aww hell No! There goes my chill RPG. And I'm not even fully against gacha games as a 4 Year Bleach Brave Souls veteran. But the gameplay switcharoo and the designs oozing of all-fanservice no depth is an instant turnoff.
Thank you for this video. I've been getting Evertale ads like every other ad I get on CZcams. In my mind I was telling myself "there's no way this game is actually the way they are showing it." I'm glad I looked this up to get verification. Definitely a big pass from me and getting reported next time I see it
I mean, the ads look amazing. it seems very scary and filled to the brim with lore. my kind of game. what I didn't know was that it would not include any of what they advertise. so......
any game devs out there want to make this exact game??
yes please anyonr
i want to make a game like that, watch out
There’s a game called Pokémon snake wolf that’s the closest we have rn
My problem with evertale is that it started out good, I remember it coming out and it starting out with a story that I liked so far, the reason I bought it back then was because they had made some other games in the past that were good, mainly dragon island blue and red, the appeal of it back then was the number of monsters you could have on a team along with a good story, then neo misters came out and it was still decent at the beginning, now, evertale is just greed at this moment, just like neo monsters, it’s sad to see how a developer has killed this game into the trash with greed, I think it’s because they made locked off unless you buy it with money, only for you to realize later it’s trying to be a bigger cash grab I used to love the games made by these devs but now I only feel disappointed in them. Thanks for covering this.
Gotta agree with you there, it's all changed when '2.0' came out, I geniunenly loved the game before, I grind like never before, the story is really good for mobile games, I like the character design too, it can be hot (Beach Astrid). But not Beyond Fanservicy sexualization.
But now they have battlepass and sh8.
While I still play keep the game, I just login and wait for new Story to came out, since it's the only good thing about the game now.
@@habibpines Yep i agree wholeheartly i played evertale in like 2019 and i cant believe how they desecrate most of the female character even Luna character got a redesign and now she is a loli blondy. How? I will still play evertale since i want to max out Norza but i lost my trust during this fiasco of an major update.
@@minecraftergamer3515 the really worse one is Rei frog, and Shinna, like Rei become whore or something and Shinna came from loli to have this A$$ shot somehow.
I like Teen Callen design though but not the over fanservice one. It's unnecessary (well I did know they hire a r18 artist to make those new arts)
@@minecraftergamer3515 they do a good job of updating the story though I will say that. It’s pretty much them trying to beat gods at this point lol
I mean they did pretty much the same with their previous game, neo monsters - this time they added even more p2w and removed all pvp etc
theres just a lot of mobile games that use the bait and switch scummy advertising like barely what they advertise is in game so i tho it was common knowledge to ignore advertisement ._.
Yup but this requires you buy the game which is worse than normal!
@@MMOByte ppl barely care about mobile games so thats why they get away with these kind of things
Not that it’s acceptable, but it seems mobile games get away with this more because not as many people care as much. That being said, what if enough people that buy it complain to google/apple via email with screens of the game vs ads?
Yeah but most of those games are free, so people don't really care about the ad, just go to the store and watch reviews.
@Shima Phys According to AppSliced, it went permanently free about a year ago after the dev spent some time trying to game the system by alternating between free and $0.99.
I would honestly LOVE a horror-like Monster Taming game.
Imagine if someone decided to make a game that would look similar to these false Advertisements and would bring it to PC and consoles.
the second i saw an ad for evertale, i thought to myself “this is a huge pokemon rip-off”
Me too and I was also like “oooooo-betta look this up to see peeps complaining about it!”
@@somethingwithbungalows same! that’s how i found this video
I new something was off by just looking at how different their mascot looks. But then I expected it to be, because of "-tale", a game with minigames based on creepypastas.
Sadly there are no laws against false advertising when it comes to games. Most mobile phone game advertisements don’t look like the game actually plays.
There are laws against misleading ads, yes even mobile games. FTC says about online advertisement: "Advertising must be truthful and not misleading." The problem is probably mobile game are usually free so it's probably low on FTC's priority list compared to scams that make people spend a lot of money upfront like V-Shred ads.
there may not be laws, but I'm pretty sure youtubes advertisement policy has clauses against false advertising, and I will be reporting it next time I see it. Its showed for me a few times already -_-
yeah but those other mobile games don't charge 99 cents play their game, that the difference between them and Evertale. 99 cents doesn't seem alot, but imagine fooling millions of people, if they fooled 5 million people that's 5 million dollars.
@@rgygduysdgyuygsduysd plus the summon rates sux. Even with 10x10 pulls, or even 20x10pulls, it's hard to get any ssr unit specially the char that is featured in the banner. Even whales are having a hard time to FA a character. Unlike other games like this that even with 10pulls you can get a 5* or in this case an ssr unit.
There are laws against bait-and-switch marketing
And here I was going to spend a dollar to satisfy my morbid, demented, dark side and now I can't
I’m here because I keep getting evertale ads and I got curious. I didn’t realize that any of this was happening. The ads I got were about what the game seems to actually be, not that horror Pokémon simulator.
Most of their trailers steal assets from other games like Pokémon, Pokémon fan concepts, and Omori lol
I saw the advertisement and was confused because I knew the original... I really thought that it was a different game with the same name :v
Yup! And that’s their goal!
I came from one of Evertale’s ad campaigns. When seeing it, I thought “Oh great, a Pokémon bootleg,” but it turns out that I was wrong. I feel great that I haven’t purchased the game AT ALL, considering it costs money. The ad you demonstrate in this video has only one environment I can identify is similar to another game, and that environment is the white, bloody, void. This confirms that they would also want fans of OTHER games, like Pokémon, Omori, Earthbound, and various other related games, to get the game because of the “similarities” portrayed. So yeah, Evertale is a not-masterpiece (Or in other words, a failure.) No thank you, AppGet.
I got this for free yeah I'm not kidding it was free when I got it. Immediately uninstalled when the combat was a huge turn off for me
@o_O I don't know anything about pre released but it was on sale for zero dollars
@o_O neither. It was really on sale
@o_O I wish I was joking but it literally said zero dollars when I tried it out. Hell I bet you right now it's still on sale for zero dollars
@@phantomvulpe791 Same I got the game on sale for 0$ and uninstalled it after getting bored of it.
I actually really appreciate you making this. I saw one of those very ads on my phone and thought it looked cool, but when I checked it out on the app store something felt off so I decided to research it. So glad I did. And it's really unfortunate because the concept they showed in the ads was really good! Disgraceful. Thank you for making this video, you saved me!
So glad you did a video on this. I saw the misleading ads and was stoked, it looked so cool, but I have a lack of trust when it comes to mobile ads so I decided to look it up. You've saved me a couple dollars my friend. Thank you.
Mobile games do these fake advertisements a LOT. This one looks scammier because it's a pay to play game, but f2p games do it too. And it works because people may stay in the game even if it's not what they were expecting.
This is a p2w game? Really?
i cryed when i discovered that this game wasn't the Omori/Pokemon fusion that i almost dowloaded (T_T)
I'm sorry u spent money on it
yea, i looked it up 'cause it reminded me of omori, but this video (luckily) showed up
My gut was telling me that mobile games can't look this good/have ads this full of effort.
Glad to know I'm right.
I literally just saw another ad at the top of the app for Evertale that was more fake horror advertising. Thank you for making this video. The sheer amount of strange and disturbing ads combined with how none of it is actually real has been driving me up the wall.
Just a little info. On the Play store all pictures are with a dark/spooky vibe. And I reinstalle today and some art are not the same for example Ludmilla and Rizette are with less armor than before... Very strange, was a good game before... Sorry for my english
No need to apologize
Yeah man it runs on fanservice now,
They even changed mysha she was so cute before now she a human..Wasn't she a kud!? cherry of top also a fanservice material ToT..
i wish the devs stopped making everyone look straight out of a hentai because it makes me lose interest even more. theres a difference between an actually cool and interesting sexy design and blatant pointless hornybait fanservice for the sake of coomerbait; there is a point where a design can be too sexy to make the character hot, and the designs crossed that point.
I downloaded and played Evertale about a year ago. I saw it on Reddit represented as a temporary promotion for a paid game, but it turns out they just went freemium.
I was just coming off the closure of another gacha game I invested a ton of time into (but no money), Mobius Final Fantasy and was hesitant to dive into another gacha. But I gave it a try and actually liked it. I didn’t care so much for the combat, but I thought the story, characters, and dialog were excellent. I stopped playing after maybe a month, though. And all because the developers abandoned their original vision for a cash grab.
The game was represented as a catch and tame poke-like and the initial “season” was such. No time limits, events, gated progression, online play, or any other nonsense. Grind if you want to, advance if you want to, stop playing for a while if you get tired. Awesome!
But then came season 2. And the game completely changed. Energy system. Daily bonuses. Events. Online play. Premium currency. Gacha. And worst of all, NO MORE CAPTURING units!! Your progression is now solely tied to pulling the right units and weapons from rotating banners and spending endless time (or money) grinding them to be halfway decent. And DOUBLE WORST, 90% of the gacha units are hypersexualized abominations of beloved storyline characters.
The story was still great, but at a certain point I hit a difficulty wall and had a choice to make: do I continue and dive back into the gacha grind that turns the game into a second job, or do I just … not. The story was still great, but the lead balloon they tied it to just wasn’t worth it.
Recently, I started seeing a lot of ads for the game. Not THESE ads, but normal ones. They still represented the game as a catch-a-thon and showed a lot of creatures I never saw before. As far as I can tell, though, that is all a lie because it looks like the gacha is even more boobs and butts than it was before.
Shame. The writers ought to all quit and start their own company. I bet they’d do great by themselves without the greedy execs.
@Toru Sato I don't know about the situation on the Japanese servers (based on your name), but on Global I think the player count wasn't as high as they wanted it, and even fewer paying players. A lot of people got turned off by Square's early decision to put up a $75 paywall in front of the Tidus legendary job (and maybe a couple others? I can't remember.) After that, they made a bunch of changes to make things more player-friendly, but the damage was done. Those changes didn't attract many new players and it made it a lot easier for existing players to keep up with the power creep without spending anything. I never spent a cent on the game and by the close I had all jobs and skins, almost all support supremes (except Zach -- who cares! -- and A Tale of Hope), lots of other supremes including Vox (the only DLBII card to be released in Global), and six Rift supremes. With the professional voice acting, the detailed models and textures, the dozens of unique music tracks, and the many variations to battle mechanics, I think it became too expensive for them to continue. Plus, the Global players felt that the game had too much spaghetti code, making it difficult to add more features or fix bugs (of which there were many toward the end). They also seemed to run out of ideas for new supremes, probably because they released too many to try to make money from the whales.
i play the game now and ya you can catch monsters but its limited, if the monster has to be killed for the story you cant catch it, i don't get why i cant gain the ally's through the quests, i just don't get it.
Thanks for posting this, I was considering checking it out but wanted to see more of it before putting money down. Fun note: they show actual screen shots and not the fake advertising videos on the play store.
As both a gamer & newbie game dev this disgusts me that some developers would do stuff like this scam
As an old player of this game,i strongly agree that this is a big scam and devs do not listen to their players.Ever since 2.0 came out everything fall apart on evertale and devs started not to listen to their players

Believe it or not, I’ve started seeing tiny disclaimers at the bottom of a few ads I’ve viewed in other games saying, “Not actual gameplay.” But it’s very tiny and usually at the bottom of the ad. Nothing infuriates me more than seeing an ad that misrepresents the game just so they can get a download.
I’ve now gotten into the habit that if I see a game that looks interesting to me, I will look for gameplay footage on CZcams first. That is EXACTLY how I came across this video. It’s false advertising at a very basic level of the definition.
🌴☀️🌴
man this video brought so much nostalgia to me , i had like 500hours in the game when it launched
sadly it seems the company has gone the wrong way with both monetization and adds , it used to be super chill and relatively f2p friendly ( i know the game cost 2 euro but still)
but to be honest the only adds i get on mobile are like this is not worse and significantly more misleading its industry standard at this point
Yup. As they continued to decline in population, they resorted to underhanded tactics to secure new players.
This has been going on via mobile games for years now, it's so widespread and false advertising is insane
Now it's spreading to paid games
The problem is that nobody does anything legally even Google won't act on false advertising
@Shima Phys oh that explain because i only heard about this game and got it for free yesterday with a CZcams ad that was different from the real game but not as fake as these ads
Literally all that needs to happen is someone notify Pokemon/Nintendo and Evertale will sink faster than the titanic
I remember seeing those ads and being pretty interested. I checked out the appstore and it hasn't updated at all to their new marketing scheme (at least at the time). So I was like yeahhhh.....no not gonna bother with that..I'm glad this scam is being talked about in some circles! I've never seen anyone else mention it
I installed it having never seen the ads. It's an average game. I don't think it's worth spending money on. Might be why they're resorting to this kind of advertising. I bet in general, people are getting tired of being pulled around by gatcha mechanics.

Huh, I didn't expect this viewpoint, the Evertale ads align more to RPGmaker horror games with the psychological horror and gory pixelart, and tbh these fake ads almost worked on me. Your video came up so I decided to watch it and you saved me my time and money. Even though it is only a dollar, it's the time I would have wasted. What puzzles me is why didn't just make the game the way they advertised it?!!? Makes no sense as marketing is expensive and creating gameplay videos of a game that doesn't exist costs even more. So odd.

I’m glad I watched your video. I almost downloaded the app based on the advertisement alone. The cherry on top? How much of your personal data they want, in exchange for a pay to play game. Your doing the lords work
Not is this only a huge scam, but it's also really sad. These ads also reinforce some kind of story for this creepypasta pokemon game. I even saw an uncommon ad in which the ad tells you about a breeder who loved the monsters, and became one being around them so often. This kind of lore could be used to make this advertised game real, and a very good one at that. But instead, they used these ideas to make a scam for buying a completely different game.
Honestly I wish it was like the ads that would be such a great game
This is so normal on mobile I can't even be upset. It's another trash mobile game with false advertisement. Also we can't report to Google or Apple false advertisement, almost like they don't care as long as they get their money.
But you have to buy it which is so much worse than normal! I can’t believe they get away with it.
I keep getting these ads. I had a good feeling they were fake. Thanks for showing me that they were. The game's icon looks nothing like the trailer. It seems like deceptive ads are being used to artificially extend the game's lifespan.
I found this vid because I saw one of those ads, and wanted more information on what the game was really like. Needless to say, I am deeply disappointed.
*EDIT:* And yes, that does mean that over a year later, they're still using these (probably illegal) ads.
From law classes I remember misleading advertisement to be illegal? (in Austria at least)
Im pretty sure it is
Pretty sure it's common sensd
What are some of the “better” games like Evertale (jrpg catchem all type) on the App Store? Thanks in advance
emulator plus pokemon rom
There just aren't many, Pokemon has completely dominated the genre for decades. Temtem on PC seems pretty cool, but it's pricey (well, less than Pokemon games, but those are expensive because of the brand behind them) and still being patched for improvements, but apart from that it's still mostly roms and fangames. If you have a PC I'd recommend Pokemon Uranium and Pokemon Insurgence, both very good fangames that introduce new mons but play essentially the same as regular NDS Pokemon games
I'd say elona mobile its dark but bizarre and kinda fun. It isnt fully p2w u can win by grinding a lot and a lot means a lot
If u want a more pokemon like game there are options but they have down side and some of them are pricy
-tem tem(pc)
-evocreo
-loomian legacy (its on roblox tho)
-pokemon fan games(for some you need only emulator and most of them need pc)
10 months later and I still saw an ad like you described. They are still out there lying
The advertisement is what ALMOST made me buy it, the 3 reviews I read about it that said it wasn't the game being advertised and this video is the reason why I didnt. I'm not a huge mobile game player but I'm a HUGE fan of blood and gore in games. After reading the reviews, I had to do more research. Glad I saved my money and didn't buy it because although its $1.00, I would have been beyond pissed had I just blindly purchased
I was just searching for evertale tier list when i found this
i never thought i game i just started playing 1h ago would be this type of game….
Your old gameplay clips are so different than what i was playin, it had a lot of fan service, like A LOT
Ohhh shit I remember seeing this, but fun fact, I wasn’t getting horror ads I was getting fake Pokèmon ads. It looked like a terrible spinoff from it. I didn’t get it for that reason. Good to see this and learn more of a reason to not get it
This goes deeper cause I checked Twitter for anyone talking about it and all I found was an ENDLESS amount. Still being posted to this minute, of a bunch of bots posting "Play #Evertale!" With an image of one of the characters. They are going so far to get people to buy their game to ridiculous means with no regard for the backlash that'll ensue. I genuinely don't understand how this hasn't been beaten down by the legal hammer yet.
(Fun fact: I got one of those goddamn ads right before the video)
I got one as a bloody midroll ad. I really don't know why this isn't being talked about more, they are still doing this and it is an egregious example of it!
I immediately googled this up when I saw this add show up on me. I had so many levels of doubt on what that advert was that I suspected something was up.
It surprises me that this is even considered legal. (or rather that this hasn't been caught as the perfect example of false advertisement.)
I’m here cos I saw an evertale ad that played just like a Pokémon game. Glad I came here before I ended up wasting storage space.
They actually planning to remove "Gold" From the game placed with something else
Wait really??? With what I wonder
Your profil look like Ludmilla
There used to be a time when bait-and-switch tactics and false advertising would equal a company being sued out of business. But I'm guessing the game is made by a company in a country that doesn't recognize truth-in-advertising laws.
Fake it until you make it. Or advertise the true game.
Also, I've played the game and I wish that they would take all that effort they put into making fake ads and put it into the actual game.
They add constantly new ads every day but they aren't active except in specific periods, when the developers make the game free for a limited time. Indeed, when the game is on sale it is completely free, downloadable for everyone and, most of the times, this sale is accompanied by many ads being turned active.
It seems the marketing team of Evertale had to make this ads because, according to u/D3TR4KT1K, the ads algorithm priorities content that becomes popular. It seems to make sense, right? Well I just personally think they've been making these fake ads to get people to talk about them, to engage more people by just making bad ads, so people would talk, criticize and complain about them, spreading the word: this video is a perfect example.
I have been studying Evertale ads since summer 2020 and I know a lot about them, I've also archived every ad they added since, when they add a new advertisment and it gets deactivated some hours later (to be used later), it becomes unobtainable for me. Horror ads have started at the end of 2020, but they weren't exactly as the ones you've showed. Those have been made later, about 4 months ago. I started uploading all Evertale's horror ads in chronological order on Reddit on r/CreepyEvertale
Anyway I'm aware of the fact that people can still get to know about Evertale as ads when the game is not on sale, tricking those people into downloading a game that doesn't exist, a really despicable scam, but it's also true that the mobile game industry is filled with scams as bad as Evertale or even worse. Raid Shadow Legends is one of the most shittiest games of all times, an bad idle game where you can't litteraly do nothing as F2P, but, thanks to thousands of youtubers they've payed, many many people got to play it and who knows how much money they've made of it.
I started playing it way before the weird misleading ads began popping up everywhere. I was able to get it on sale for the best price of all- free. I thought it was a genuinely fun little game. The first act could easily sell for 99 cents on its own merits imo. First act can be played offline and feels like a love letter to classic mon catching JRPGs.
First act plays more like a game with a standard business model. The second act onwards uses a stamina system like most gacha.
The game actually avoided gratuitously fanservice-y designs for a long while (outside of summer alts) but that hasn't been the case lately. It's starting to feel like yet another generic fanservice laden gacha in a generic fantasy setting. The wildly misleading ads are only strengthening that impression.
I have no idea who's handling the advertising for Evertale these days, but they're not doing the game any favors.
A video talking about it finally!! Istg i saw a ad for it a while ago and was disappointed when i saw the photos of the game fr
Found this video trying to figure out what the game is. Commercials show one thing, but a quick google search shows another. It's confused me, and it felt like a scam. Glad you decided to talk about this!
Next video Odin Valhalla new QnA interview 🙏
Oh I didn't see that! Do you have a link to it?
Man the MMO Community has been obsessed with scams recently and I AM HERE FOR IT. (so much so that I made my own video featuring a s**t game)
Ahhahah, thankfully for the most part I steer clear of drama!
@@MMOByte I wouldn't be surprised if companies like these have autoreply bots for negative youtube/google reviews.
I just saw this ad on my phone and wanted to see what it was before I played. I'm glad I checked. Thanks for the video.
From the number of ads and wide variety in the actual game portrayed between them I seriously needed to know for sure if it was a scam, thank you for having this video to help me understand what the game actually was without having to download it
As one of Evertale player yes the game is a scam. Literally, they didnt even boost the gacha rate. And they just lewding the female characters to the core. The community is strong and a nice sadly the dev doesnt even care about the community. We try to contact them thru twitter on trying to boost the gacha, adding some new events, pvp, new MALE characters etc. they didnt give any response. I been playing the game like idk end of dec 2019? Back when they make the game for free once. Playing it until i finish the first act of thw game and wishinf for their 2nd act to be the same heck no! It bs! You guy might ask why i still playing it despite you know it scam?
1. I didnt spend a single penny on the game
2. I love the story of the game (despite they change everything)
3. The community is nice
Thats all i can say about the game. Anyway thanks for this video i just wish they notice this so that they can change their game more....
I somehow do not care about male characters
Played the game back during launch, the gameplay was interesting and the story was pretty good for a mobile gacha game, but the game eventually died because of the obscene, extreme greed of the gacha system which makes it literally impossible for you to get any viable units if you're free to play, and since the free units cap out at extremely low levels, it's impossible to progress without spending thousands of dollars on the awful gacha system. Now that they drove their game into the gutter and basically killed off their playerbase they're trying to lure in unsuspecting new players with misleading advertisement. This is honestly a shame because the game itself is really quite enjoyable during the early game, it's a shame the greed of the publisher essentially killed it shortly after launch.
Thank you brother I just saw the advertisement on Facebook and went on CZcams to see reviews cuz it looked awesome. You saved me money and more importantly time 💙
Actually haven't seen this video nor have any idea about the situation until Game Theory covered this, piqued my interest and searched for this in your channel. Damn, kinda sad they stooped to false advertising.
Now I just wanna learn how to make games so I can make a game that's actually related to the ads, cause the game on the ads looks gory as hell and I wish I could play it.
At this point we get mad if they don't try to scam us.
I was so damn surprised of why no one talked about this. I am so glad you did. I started getting these creepy ads like one month ago, it triggered me so badly... I didn't get them that much as this week. They made more ads and now they appear in almost EVERY video and it scares me. Genuinely, this is absolutely disgusting and shitty, there are kids in CZcams and getting this type of ads are absolutely triggering and disgusting. The game itself doesn't even look good at all. I hope they get these ads down, and if they continue, I hope they get the whole game down. Also, we for real need to pay for that? Come on.
I saw the ad minutes ago. Then checking about this and found your video! All companies making ads on YT etc are fishy in my eyes and needs to be checked first!
Just realized I purchased this game. I never saw the ad and I spent no actual money (Google play points). Also, I uninstalled the game after about 5 minutes or so of play.
They gave the game for 0$ a Year ago, maybe you got it that time
You got lucky!
but what if i like to eat burger buns only ? does that make me weird >,>
Yes. You are an abomination.
I like to eat burger wraps. I think I'm a pretty normal person if you ask me.
Stop talking ffs
Should we try and sue them for false advertising? They do include a few seconds of footage of the actual game but only things that match the psychological horror element of the advertisement. I don't know the specific guidelines for what qualifies as false advertising, but I'm pretty sure some of the ads are skirting the line.
It's funny I saw trailers for this sometime back that actually showed real gameplay and it somewhat interested me. Seeing these fake ads just changed my mind. Kinda the same with a lot of games lately like Housescapes. I saw the trailer of real gameplay, liked it and actually played it for quite sometime. Then I start seeing ads like its some kind of "How do I fix this issue?" puzzle game.
This is crazy, the actual game even looks good, why not show the real one? You will be playing New Genesis on twitch?
I’m not sure why they need to lie! And yes we’ll definitely be in New Genesis on Twitch in a few hours!
@@MMOByte Cool, looking forward for it
The game's playerbase is dead because of the extreme greed of the publishers making the game essentially unplayable without forking out thousands of dollars.
And here I was hoping you were going to say Star Citizen!
Oh I have a video on that coming eventually!
biggest would not do justice to the star citizen scam.
Thank you for the video, I’ve been seeing the horror ads for this game lately and was really interested, but something told me I should look into it before I download it. So glad I did!
thanks for this. I just got hyped over a year later over that commercial you showed. And then looked up the game and it looked totally different and thought maybe there are two different games with the same name. Is the Cloudia game the same thing because it looks a bit different than the images on google.
I've played Evertale for a few weeks, its art is absolutely basic anime and the creatures might as well be copy pasted out of Final Fantasy. Its story is trash, its combat is seriously mechanically annoying, and there is SEVERAL better mobile games than this. It is the Raid: Shadow Legends of monster capture gachas.
It's depressing how there are such things going on. I genuinely hope people to stop it, nut that's expecting too much *sigh*.
I am still waiting for PS02NGS to launch. They keep pushing it forward for maintenance. Hope I get too watch the stream today..
Isn't it released today?
New Genesis came out today!
@@MMOByte Well...time to download it then. RIP my free time I guess
@@infinitexp420 It's available to download but I think they have been pushing the maintenance time for about 7 hours now. And 1 more hour too goo. Hopefully it works :)
@@MMOByte yes it did but it's not working yet. The servers launch in an hour hopefully. Or we will have another 3 hours of wait.
I literally got an Evertale ad on this video, how terrifying is that
Also I would love to play Evertale if it were as advertised
Lmaoo I'm watching this a year later because I got an Evertale ad just like that in the previous video I watched. And now I had it AGAIN ironically during this video. Baffled that they're still trying the same scam for over a year
dude i was afraid by second its pso2 ng xDD glad its not
Ahhahahah, nope, not New Genesis!
