Agreed. I liken my listening of Hot News to my memory of when I was a child at my grandparents house, and their listening to NPR news every morning over the radio.

I think this pivot is great! Keeping Hot News as a backup channel (in case of Nintendo 2.0) is good, but getting back to the main channel is awesome. I think your new niche is filling in nicely. Good luck!

So long as all HN video titles preface appropriately (eg. HN: news titles, or Hot News: news titles) I won't mind much on the change. It just makes it easier to keep abreast of the news versus mingling with content videos like reviews in my news cap routine before work.

I always feel like I'm watching this on UFD Tech anyway although I'm subbed to both of your channels, Brett. I've recently said to a returning Israeli customer of mine that, "Sometimes it's more profitable to walk away from a job, and go find another one." I also know from experience that when I focus my energy on one thing, I can do a far better job that when I do the so-called multitasking. Wish you, and your team all the best!

Is there any way to only get updates on the other channel from "Hot News"? This is a lot like when 'Pitch Meeting' was only in the "Screen Rant" channel, I didn't sub to screen rant because i didnt want the rest of the content, only Pitch Meeting. Same thing here sadly

are there people that care about what channel name videos come out under? love your work and just watch them when I see them rather than they're what i watch when i have my breakfast and without your video under a certain channel I can't eat or something lol
With the way the youtube algorithm works in 2022, it really doesn't make sense to have multiple channels anymore unless the channels are on completely different topics. Most people who watch a channel's videos aren't subscribed to that channel and every video more or less stands on it's own. This means subscriber burn is not even an issue anymore so you can actually most more than one video a day now and not have it hurt your channel. For you merging the channels makes the most sense as having 2 different tech based channels only splits your audience, having just one channel, is the right option for you.
If you need more employees I am based out of PA as well and would love to work for UFD tech, best of wishes to you and I love the content from both channels.
As long as we get the Hot News and great sponsorships like the sweet robot thingy, I'm fine with channel swaps. You guys have been doing a great job, love you Bret
The best thing you can do is stop switching :). On the bright side the 2nd channel helped improve hot news a lot and it's in a great place where it is now
Just keep up the Awesome. We all appreciate the hard work of you and your team. Life makes things complicated, and running a business is "like eating glass" according to Elon Musk. Lots of people depending on you adds some pressure. You end up doing lots of the things others won't or can't do.
Subscribers are your biggest asset in this game. It might have made sense to keep everything as one channel from the beginning, but now that you have two pools of subscribers, you are basically amputating your arm. If you want to convert subscribers between the two channels, you should just do a lot of cross promotion at the end of your videos. Even in this video, there was no clear way for me as a subscriber to jump over to the other channel. At the very least, "check the description below for a link to the UFD Tech channel" could go a long way.
Watch time and views is that most important metric. Subscriber count doesn't mean anything if there nobody watching for a significant amount of the video.

So moving HN back to UFD really shouldn't make any difference to most viewers who consume most your content. As a CZcamsr, juggling multiple channels can be VERY cumbersome, so it makes more sense to just put all your content on one channel if it's covering the same topic. So whatever makes your job easier for you Brett, do it!

I think you should standardize the thumbnail for HN on the other channel at least, even if only by using a border and putting the logo in a corner, that way people know what they gonna watch. or by putting 'hot news' on the beginning of the tittle, that's what gamer nexus does I think.

I've heard Linus and others talk about the YT algorithm misbehaving if you post more than one video a day. But, that should be offset by having a larger subscriber base for your DAILY show? Then again, subs to HN channel are most likely diehards so I'm not sure how much the total views will change, in which case it may not be a bad thing having them separate? I have zero professional YT experience, it seems like both options have pros and cons. Honestly I'd want you to do whatever gets you the most bang for buck

I have the MXErgo, used it for several years. It's nice for comfort, but will never be as good as a traditional mouse.
