    As a first time escooter buyer and a senior citizen I starve for information including details.
    You guys do an amazing job. Each review is excellent and credible. The long list of tests provides meaningful comparisons and is world class.
    As an entrepreneur myself, I think taking your methodology and signature look-and-feel to other markets could hold great promise. Ebikes might be a good fit.

    Thanks Chuck and Vienna! It is great to hear Vienna's perspective. I finally got my wife to ride one of my original E-Twow Booster scooters. She has to travel further to her work now so the kickscooter is not as beneficial. The Booster can use the bike lanes and maintain a decent speed and still be light. She has now seen the light :)

    Any chance you have a review of the INOKIM Quick 3? For a slightly slower speed and heavier weight you get 10 inch tires. I am very impressed with the portability of the Light 2, especially with a speed of 21 mph, but am concerned going that fast with only 8.5 inch tires. Not sure how it would handle anything other than the smoothest of streets.

    Considering that my Quickwheel Explorer with 5400w Dual Motor 11Inch 36.4ah and dual top front oil Suspension did cost 900USD including 2 charger
    -1 seat
    -1 scooter bag
    -1 chain lock
    -1 phone holder
    -1 inflator
    -1 Allen Wrench
    extra 2 road tires for free,
    I think this scooter is a bit to overpriced ;)
    I think that the xiaomi m365 400USD and even the xiaomi m365 pro 600USD are more reasonable.
    With a second battery Back you get ~31 Miles of range :)

      Yea, we will probably discontinue it. It was actually a suggestion from viewers to see if a scooter can handle normal drops and what happens if anything. But most scooters pass. The Levy had the fenders both broken off and some have a sticky throttle for 10 mins.

    • @lizzam
      @lizzam Před 4 lety +1

      It's actually a good test, just that maybe consider other typical ways people break scooters: jumping off curbs, and hitting a nasty pothole. One extreme test you can consider is how strong is the stem folding mechanism (prolonged wear and tear, how easy is it to break, etc.)

    Although, I like the design, and stability of the scooter, I really wish it had more power. I also like the drum brakes on it. In my opinion, drum brakes are better, at least when it comes to scooters, at stopping power. The Weped GT-50 comes to mind when talking about drum brakes. That scooter has the best stopping power of any scooter in its category. For the same reasons the inokim founder discussed, as to why drum brakes are better than hydrolic disk brakes on scooters. The disk brakes tend to bend, cause friction, and are heavier. Which adds weight to a scooter.
    I hope more manufacturers follow inokim in the build quality of their scooters, and the design. But I'm a power freak, I need something with more power. I'm kind of caught in the middle, because I want to buy a scooter with power to spare, but I also want a scooter that is on the lighter side, and designed well. I know I maybe asking too much. Unfortunately for me, I live on a walk up, so I need a scooter I can carry up 4 flights of stairs. The scooter I currently own, is on the monster scooter side, 110 Lbs. Yeah, I have to log that monster up the stairs.

    • @chrisfox8939
      @chrisfox8939 Před 2 lety +1

      I have the Pure Air, not sure if they are a different brand name in the US, but the single drum brake alone at 15.5mph, will stop me in less than a meter. I know because riding through London, people will just step out into the road without looking and I have to slam the brake on and I just stop practically instantly. Naturally that distance increases with speed but I believe the stopping power is the drum brake becasue the ninebot I had previously used electric brake and it absolutely sucked.

      Being well built is a characteristic that is lost to some buyers who look at only the quick cosmetic specs and face value.
      As an example , a couple of decades ago I bought a car that was largely mocked at the time for being somewhat ugly looking.
      As an ex mechanic I knew it to be solid ,
      17 years later , it still has the same unopened , engine, gearbox, diff, and still runs like a beauty and has been a fantastic car , even though yes it is still ugly 😄.

      @@curtwpk1361 My Ninebot had 'suspension' on the front and back and it was nothing but problematic. Had to constatnly tighten it up, lest the bolts just start undoing themselves with every bump. Since then I had a Pure Air, no suspension but 10 inch air filled tyres and I havent had to tighten up even one bolt since getting it 6 months ago. About to retire that for this Inokim this weekend, but I feel like I may end up tightening it a lot like the ninebot based on some reviews I've seen. One good thing about that Pure Air is the build quality and waterproof (not just resistant) design but it is a puncture magnet.

    I did purchase the scooter in November. On the 2nd day, the inner tube died on the rear wheel (which I got by mistake instead of never run-flat). I waited for the rear never run flat wheel for 1.5 weeks (thanks for the USPS delivery, appreciated). Once I installed the rear wheel, it went 8 -ty when I rode. I decided to make adjustments but the front inner tube died as well. Having had this scooter for a max of 3 weeks I used it for 2 days overall. It was the worst purchase ever with the budget >1K. Technically it was a complete waste of my time. The only plus is the look and feel. Suggestion to Inokim suppliers - Admit the fact that the inner tube or the wheel design overall is not appropriate. The scooter can not be used on daily basis.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  Před 2 lety +3

      We ride ours a lot and have never had a flat. Maybe they had a bad batch of tubes? On all scooters with air filled tires, you have to check tire pressure at least once a week to prevent pinch flats from low pressure. We've also found that Dr. Orange tire sealant from Voro Motors works really well when we have gotten punctures on other scooters.
      Sorry you're off to a bad start with the scooter. I hope you're able to get your Light 2 sorted out and working reliably. -Paul
