This was crazy, you have to do some more.
Talking about those days with dad, building these things and the characters involved....

Might be one of the coolest uTube channels I’ve run across ? Your Pop was a really Cool guy !!!
I live 10 minutes from that museum, I will have to check it out. Never realized they had so many classic builds
Roth Studios in Maywood 1960-70. Rbt.Wms. was drawing Zapp Comix at night.😮
Thanks "Lil Daddy" you lived it, we loved it. Joe F.
Roth was a big part of my childhood ! Love this guy .
Boy, do I miss the OLE day's. Old skool man. Old skool.
What a GREAT VIDEO!!!!! Hearing Your Stories is One of My favorite things!!!!! BOOK!!!!!
I worked for Dan Woods back in the day when Ed Fuller worked for him to plus Ed Newton was always around. The story’s they told me when the worked for your dad are hilarious. One when cops would come in to visit and check out the builds Ed Fuller would take off in their police cars when they weren’t looking and drove crazy around town.
Very cool, really enjoyed!!!!! 👍👍
Your Father was a class act. I was fortunate enough to have correspondence with him on pinstriping and lettering. He had how to books that taught basics. He also responded to questions and this was before internet. I was blessed to finally meet Him when He was at the Detriot Auto Rama, I was able to thank him in person as I had became successful in lettering and pinstriping, owning a sign company for 15 years at that time. I can't wait to see His new work on Heaven.
Awesome always loved the Rat Fink and everything Ed Roth built. What great memories!
Been to Ted's museum, place is awesome.
Great video. Ed Roth was a true legend. When I was 12 or 13 my goal in life was to ride a chopper to Cali and meet Ed in person, but it never happened. I loved his work. His V8 trikes were totally cool. Dangerous, but cool. I think they had 289 Fords in them. May he RIP.
Dennis much love, respect and appreciation for you & all of the Lil Daddy Roth Metal Flake products. I'm a basshead who love stupid insane nasty loud amounts of bass 🔊. I have thick metal flake on the inside of my box . I'm spraying black flack bomb on my rear wing on my car btw you can never have to much metal flake
I lived in Buena Park in the mid 70s and i visited Cars of the Stars and planees of fame. Went in the entrance and was mesmerized by the Von Dutch items in the glass case. Guns, and engraved items. And who comes out the door but Big Daddy. Thrill to death. I was 22
Good seeing you again
HOLY CRAP! You look just like a thinner version of your dad. I knew him well while he lived in LaMirada. I miss him. Thanks for bringing up these memories.
Lil daddy great to see you carrying on this history-growing up in Maywood I have a few Big Daddy Roth related stories-and my Dad talking about getting his car pin striped by Big Daddy-seemed like there were 4 Roth brothers only one of which I new and have tried to remember his name he used to take action pictures at Bell High School football games and would give me photos of me in action he was a great guy-
Hi, i met you mom briefly once back in the early 1980s appx, i was working at the La Mirada Lucky grocery store. your mom came in to rent a rug shampoo machine and while filling out the rental book i noticed the last name, i said any relation to Ed Roth she said she was his wife. we did some small talk she said your dad was working with Volvo or Renault on a project. a lot of famous people lived in the La Mirada Area, nice town raised my girls there.
That wasn’t our mom. That was my dad’s 4th wife. Our mom was his first. The married after high school.
i also remember in about 1959 Tucson Arizona a car show at the airport inside a old hanger, your dad had the Beat nick Bandit with the plastic dome roof.
That Bike is so cool. The hole package is sweet. Glad it is all still not only in one pice but in mint shape. 💥🔥🤟😎🔥💥
Great video!
Very cool!!!! What great stories!!!
I love these videos. They always remind me of my Ol Man. I remember hearing the fun stories of you 5 growing up. Seeing the Chopper Mag stuff brings back when Big Daddy pulled him out of high school to run the magazine…..well until the feds told Big Daddy to send him back to school…lol
I was privy to Dick Cooks photo albums... amazing what He did with Your Dad.
that was fun. the last time I talked to Dennis he was under one of these trikes at the new shop on my corner of Gage and Alamo in Bell, walking home from Boyd Coddington's house*, he pops out to say hi and wipes his hands on my white T-shirt lol our S/E region was the best in LA for those cool times. * note to DR, how did we know 'the other' Boyd Coddington and not both of them when we were growing up in the same towns and era? at least I didn't know the famous one til years later when I called him at his shop thinking it was my old pal, odd! btw, how appropriate that you've grown to resemble both Big Daddys, your father, and Don Garlits. all the best!
Man beautiful!
Love it!!!
Love everything you do
Hey mang ! Moldy here.. Great Video.. BTW. Happy New Year and a Mazoooma too! Yeeeeeehaw!
I remember way back in 1970’s Dale and Pat Johnson had those Fiberglass Shells VW Trike in their Backyard…Dick Allen always visited them with his Locomotion Chopper and Cobra Trike. # 6:45
New subscriber thanks for the memories California in the 60s always wanted to go their and ride a chopper the closest i got was owning a couple of Harley's and retiring to Arizona
When I was a little grommet Roth came to my grandmother's gas station In lake Elsinore and took pictures of one of his creations that's when I knew I was going to be a motorcycle guy and I still ride to this day
So right 🔥🔥🔥🙌
I watched parts of Darktown Struters. Sitting here laughing when I saw that huge cherry on the cop car. Silly but funny
I knew the man and his son who built the Collins trikes in Ontario California in the 1970,s they had a trike shop ,,there cool fast and fun

Is a 1973 Kawasaki Z1 (stock) considered one of the worlds most famous classics??.. Thinkin' so!!!
I have a tattoo of your dad, in his striped bathing suit, top hat and monocle…I’ve been asked over the last 20+ years of wearing it on my right arm, from wrist to ditch…I’ve been asked, “Is that a tattoo of you”, I always respond…I wish 😂
SPRITZ BY FRITZ,
Alan Hale JR
Your dad was built 21- 3/wheeler motorcycles using 289 ford motors,C4- auto. transmissions with narrowed 9” ford rear ends.
In 1978 your father built 8 for “Mad Max Studios. He sold a rear end, twin 78 Vega radiators, fraim, for $500 to Guirelmo (sp) from Ecuador who lived across the st. from your daddy’s shop in Hollywood The fiberglass body for another $500. He then moved to Tijuana, Mex. In 2980 I meat him in sd ca. I repaired the C4 trans for him.21 yrs later he gave it to me for $500. Since 2017 I have been restoring it. I don’t know how to add a picture on here. I am 76 yrs old. It needs a complete ext. hjdrolic Harley front end and it will be be totally restored.
Any information you could give me on this trike would be appreciated. I do have a msg. From 1980 with 3 of these trikes cruising down Hollywood Blvd.Giuermo passed away 10-15 yrs ago.i have no more contacts that could tell me abt what I now have.
