You sir, are clueless about DA/SA firearms. I don't even know where to start..........

Nothing says not knowing about a firearms operating system like complaining a DA/SA trigger.

Sorry, but if you’re complaining about the stock double action trigger pull, you’re missing the point of a DA/SA gun, and you should probably stick to striker fired, or 1911 style guns.
That long, heavy double action pull exists for a reason, which is SAFETY , in order to prevent an accidental discharge on a duty gun without a manual, external safety, so that the firearm can remain in condition one ( ready to be fired) while maintaining a higher level of safety. So, yes it’s a compromise, but it’s a purposeful one, and it doesn’t merit a complaint because the design was intentional.
If you’re complaining about that, it just means you don’t understand the purpose for a DA/SA gun, which means you’re not much of a gun person.

Also easily replace springs and sear kit (I did) and it 100% changes the gun. Plus I like completely dismantling a gun after the first few mags to learn it's inner working and keep clean/lube it.

I guess you had nothing else to talking about. So you blame it on the 229. The p229 is nothing wrong with it. I also have p228 wonderful guns. Thank.

Magazine disconnect issue is a real problem. I had a debris stuck on the retention lever of the mag disconnect, and ii had to press the holder with the pin to move the magazine. The debris was due to badly clamp pressed reloaded ammo.

Yeah I don't know what this guy is talking about, and if you mess with your trigger and use your gun in a selfdefense situation you will look very bad in court so maybe he's just going to use the gun at the range.

This is why you don't solicit "expert advice" from competitive shooters about carry guns.

Maybe you need ten guys….. I have a 226 and 229, both manufactured in the mid 90’s. I wouldn’t trade either for a truck load of new garbage Sig makes.

Not being disrespectful, but folks have shot double action revolvers for years with great success with heavier than 10 lb triggers. It just takes consistent practice. I prefer double action only to da/sa, but every one has preferences. I shoot both striker fired and double action.

My Buddy almost shot me in the head with a striker fire, definitely his fault for bad gun handling but would’ve never happened with a da/sa

Just to let you know: If you use your gun in a selfdefense situation you don't want to touch your trigger so the sig's stock trigger works good for selfdefense.

  • @l3ch

My P229 recently chipped a part of the frame off where the mag release resides. The firearm is now a paperweight as taking a magazine out will cause the magazine catch/release to fall out. Sig never fails to disappoint! I guess I'll be going back to my Glock 32 for carry. FYI, I never replaced or messed with the magazine catch or any internals.
