Many singers want to know their singing voice type so they know what they can expect from their voice.
But vocal range ALONE, won't tell you your voice type.
Today, I'll show you a very simple trick to find your voice type and famous singers from each category. - Hudba

In a way, he's sort of right about the male voice types, because if someone transitions from female to male, they'll take testosterone which lowers the voice. Though I will say that solely identifying as male won't change your voice type, testosterone does whether you naturally produce more of it than estrogen or you take shots

I don’t even have a problem with those who wish to identify as whatever, just don’t bring that shit to biological facts.
Also the short says do your own research and look for these 6 voice types and compare them to your singing voice. So you’re not missing much.
Those who identify ...? Dude, even if I identified as a woman, in the morning I still sound like Christopher Lee, and in the evening I may go up to Michael Buble. 😂
Being PC isn’t always right. People need to understand that.
@@ChadKakashi his intent is pure and nice but it's just hopelessly hilarious. "Those who identify as" just killed me 😂😂😂 this is actually one of those gender thing arguments you can't even have. While totally respectfully comprehensible and interesting to psychologically identify as a frog, or anything including an opposite gender, when it comes to voice, reproducing or the way you urinate, there's not a lot we can grant phisiologically. To that extend, voice is the same. It's such an insane denial.
The misinformation being spread here is false and dangerous. Yes, there are some biological males who can sing in the soprano range (especially pre-pubescent boys) and some biological females can sing as low as baritone, but suddenly identifying as the opposite gender from the one you are born as doesn't automatically make you a "male soprano" or "female bass." You would need to be on hormone therapy for quite some time in order for your singing voice to get that deep or high (you're not guaranteed to become a soprano or bass; it varies from person to person). Once you start it, there's no going back. I've heard so many horror stories of singers with beautiful voices who suddenly thought they were the opposite gender, got on hormones way too fast, and then regretted it later.
Yeah it’s not based on identity indeed.
Yea k agree this guys is stupid

So I promise I’m not transphobic or anything and I’m all about inclusion, but there are realities about transgenderism and I feel like it’s unrealistic to make it seem like someone’s voice will shift to fit the vocal range based on what they identify as. There are definitely the occasional exceptions if someone is born with an exceptionally high or low vocal range for what they are born as (like Mitch from pentatonix) and perhaps if someone takes hormones there can be changes but generally speaking it’s unrealistic to make promises like that.
When you can do all the voices except whistle register of Mariah Carey.

The only thing your wrong about is if you identify. That doesn’t just change your vocal range. If a man is a bass and then decides to identify as a woman it doesn’t mean he can all of a sudden hit a high G.
He included that part because when trans people go on hormones, it changes their voice
what kim said
@@cementsandwich But he mentioned the identity, not the hormone replacement. That is a massively different entity. Naturally, it all comes down to biological sex on whether or not you're likely to hit certain notes. Implying that it's Females and Males that identify as Females have the same vocal capacity is just incorrect and potentially harmful. If he's going to make note of the Trans demographic, he needs to mention the added hormone replacements that drastically change one's voice. Then at that point, it's moreso someone taking drugs to increase performance capacity.

No because im a transwoman and it helped me understand that I can still fit the womens vocal category so I think he should keep saying that to be inclusive
@@Tinker-xr1gi no he shouldn't. If you're born a woman, transitioning does nothing to your vocal chords and you can still only sing like a woman sings. Sorry to disappoint you, but science and God doesn't cater to fantasy.

Not a different classification, more like a term that came to describe the ones who filled the gap left by the castrati, but they hit the notes through falsetto. They are basically leggerios who sing in falsetto.
I am a biological man and I can go al the way up to a D5 without using falsetto. I am comfortable singing Cher songs.
Similar to me, i can reach G#5 withou falseto
@@clutischannel but what we fail to understand is that even if we can reach a D5 without falsetto, the falsetto itself may sound better depending on what we're singing. I learned it the hard way.
@@cesargonzalezbueno3359 yeah thats true in some songs i used falsetto in a G4 and below but another songs i just hit a D5 with full voice
You’re still using your head voice but not falsetto. Head voice is fuller than falsetto. It can be trained. The second passagio (transition from chest to head voice) is between D4 and G4 for men so there’s no way you can reach G5 with chest voice only. It’s physically and anatomically impossible. Women have “the break” a bit higher but still not this high. At a certain point, the voice breaks because your vocals chords switch to using different muscles. The break can be minimised with training, achieving an event sound throughout the range.
@@m.h.14554 well, everything you say makes sense. However when I hit a G4 and I place my hands on my chest it vibrates, so that's a chest voice. It is possible to hit a G4 with both chest and head voices.

Can your voice actually change for trans people, though, without vocal chord surgery? Voice placement is biology, not identity.
It can’t. Some men can sing high notes for sure and be counter tenors or even sing the same range as a soprano but someone who transitioned from male to female can’t start identifying as a soprano with their voice being a typical baritone… It’s not gonna happen. Your voice is biologically determined by your sex and chromosomes. Lots of things can be done to improve it and even change it. You mentioned surgeries… but you can’t outsmart nature. I can’t comment on these surgeries as I don’t know enough about them but from what I’ve seen, they’re often unsuccessful.
Well it goes down, not up. When trans masculine folks decide to go on a hormone replacement therapy amd take testosterone, there voices crack very much like a boy going through puberty. But once your voice got down there is no way to go up again.

I’m a female who identifies as female.. I have a stupid low voice. I’ve never sang other than at concerts. I Just took a Test to see what I was. I appear to b baritone. I can’t hit a high note to save my life, even an alto high. Destroyed anything remotely feminine about my voice screaming as a stupid cheerleader. So, now only air comes out. Seriously. If I get jumped I’m gunna have to scream in baritone .. no one will know wth I’m doing. My grandfather was bass baritone. Idk if I inherited his man voice, but I’m cool w it. As Long as i can train it to sound like Mike Patton blowing a didgeridoo. My voice ridiculously resonates in low pitches. I’m loud as hell. My neighbors across the street have heard me w my door closed over the AC. Now that I’m practicing w my voice the probably think I’m summoning demons or killing a humpback whale. (I suck. I gotta lotta work to do)
Is it normal for a female who is a female to be so low. It’s super easy and comfortable to be that low. I feel it immediately in my chest then face. I’m completely relaxed. My voice naturally wants to go there. So even knowing very little about vocal chords, I can tell nothing is getting damaged.
Will I ever be able to hit a high note again? Sorry so long. I’m a biologist. Not a musician of any kind. Problem is I’m a writer. I hear music in my head. I can put the lyrics to paper, but not the music. So I’m currently musically schizophrenic. It’s all trapped in my head. If I can learn to sing a little, maybe It will help me unpack years of songs. That that could help me avoid getting 51/50 in the future. 😂
Bass. I talk Bb1-G2 and sing comfortably in 1st/2nd. Octave and I identify as Annie Lennox.
My voice is naturally low as a female I can't seem to do the female ones well so I feel embarrassed singing because I think people will say I sound like a dude lol
those who ”identify“ as males??
If I'm playing the lowest note on a ukulele for a song, which happens to be the same note played on the bass guitar in that song, does that mean I'm playing a bass guitar? Sounds like that's what you're implying here
Why did you make a distinction/ addition, as if “identifying” as female is different than female? People who “identify” as female or male do not feel excluded when you simply say “female” or “male”.
The only thing these people identify as is crazy
I have heard males sing high Tenor and some women as myself sing deep tenor so just because you are male or female don't mean your voice is locked into a certain sound.😂
What if my voice recording just sounds like total shits and doesnt compare to no1? 🤣 now what?
Ummm. I have many different voices. My neutral larynx + nasally resonant voice is high tenor. Lowered larynx makes me sound like an alt rock baritone. I can falsetto with a female quality. I switch between all of them.
Me too it's not really what you sound like with females I think we can make our voices sound dark or bright. Depending. Like Britney spears is supposedly a contralto but she would sing in a brighter voice which made her sound different but it didn't stop her from singing tons of notes below f3..... All the way to f2.... Lana del Rey sometimes sounds brighter while other times she sounds much darker they're both contralto's all the time though. I know for myself I can sound very bright and other times very bass like almost I can sing octave 1 sorta I think it's vocal fry. But that's what I mean you can change how you sound if I sound bright doesn't mean I'm not contralto when I can sing the first and second octaves....
What's your bottom note? Tenors tend to have G2-D2 & baritones probably D2-A1 on the lower end of thing.
@@muslimmetalman oh my lowest notice g2. And then I can do some stuff below that. But that's not my chest voice. Basically I can make my voice into a very low low low freak of a noise. While still carrying the note. My grandma probably can sing that low. What I always wondered was how could Leroy sing that low or where did he end? Cuz he's the male version of her voice. They both are basically the same people he's just what they call a light skin male version. He's really brown skin but anyway and she's like the dark skin version with female characteristics but they're basically the same people. This is why her half brother only has her father and her in common. But they look just the same. Her brother and she looked the same. Again he's a light skin version. She's dark skin. She takes after her mother and skin tone. But everything else comes from leroy. Which is why she has the male voice. Because of him.
@@muslimmetalman For me, anything below an F2 is weak/mumbly/fry'd/practically inaudible. However, I'd never sing anywhere close to that low. My voice feels 'caged' up until around G3-A3.

Hey, its not actually more accepting to say "female and those that identify as female" etc, though I know thats your intention, and appreciate that. Why? 1. Making this separation implies that people who identify as female are a different thing than female 2. Not all trans women are sopranos or altos, many are tenors or baritones etc, and there are cis women who are tenors too. Thats fine!
Instead, I'd just say "sopranos and altos are usually associated with women and basses tenors and baritones are usually associated with men" its pretty straight forward if you think about it
