Exactly!! Blew my mind!
@Ian Salyer prince doesn't have a 6 octave range. He has a 4 and a half octave range.
@Ian Salyer He does have an extraordinary range. However in this video, that G1 that he hits... I can croak out one of those, but that doesn't mean I can sing the notes between competently. When evaluating true vocal range, the singer must be able to demonstrate an ability to hit all the those within the range on key and with reasonable vocal quality.

Actually if it's late your voice might be higher. This happens all the time when people try to find their range in the morning and get lower, and then at night they get higher. Your voice will heat up throughout the day when you talk, and will get higher. Just wake up, say something. and think about how deep your voice is compared to when you're fully awake, and well into the day.

So I guess everyone here likes to add a few octaves to their range. I do have a high range (A1 - E6) but I sound disgusting. High range doesn't matter all too much - it's all about how you control it. Listeners of music don't listen to you taking vocal range tests, they just want a good sounding voice. Even with my range, I need years of practice. Also if you have a low range, that doesn't mean you're bad at singing, because the voice is like an instrument and anyone can learn it!
Conqueror Of Human Eternity I really like this comment, especially since I think I’m an alto, I mean I can sing high notes too and I’m working on it so maybe not
I do agree but whenever I tell someone the range that I have they just get annoyed with me and saying that no I can’t hit those notes and that girls rarely ever sing low. I used to be able to sing three octaves below middle C, I was SEVEN when I could do that though I lost some of it and right now I’m going thorough puberty so my voice isn’t very pretty and I sound like I’m screeching sometimes but I’m trying to make my voice sound at least a little bit normal when I sing high
Pandora_The_White_Wolf before puberty I could hate high notes, like crazy high. All my music teachers would have me sing solos because they said they had never heard a kid my age reach those notes. My voice is much deeper now even as a women, and my range is more tenor, so I’m not sure what happened there 😂
on the website lmfaoo no wonder why i was so confused when i was in a song contest, it's literally telling me i'm mostly alto but also between soprano and mezzo-soprano. that's why i always struggle to find where my voice normally sits because it always follows the pitch of the songs we go for.
Thank you
