What I hated the most about Christmas Story Live: Fox NEVER ONCE advertised it as a musical. People though it was the live rendition of the movie

If you haven't already seen them, I'd also recommend his reviews of the Muppet Family Christmas and Muppet Christmas Carol. They're both pretty good.

Muppet Family Christmas is heavily underrated as it never received a DVD or Blu Ray release due to the right of the characters being used as well as the copyrights on the songs as well.

I too feel that sense of loneliness in regards to family just being there. Not just from not many times we can sit and just be together anymore, but also feeling withdrawn or introverted by anxiety and personal insecurities, like maybe I don't deserve to be happy. But we are never as alone as we think, and your family won't just be the ones you were born into. Your family grows with every interaction you have. It takes courage to push forward and let those around you in.

We do a Yule celebration...with a Norwegian twist, and when the littles were littler we did a Santa. Family has a dinner, gives gifts after dinner, and in the morning we find little treats that the Julenisse (christmas trolls) left in our shoes, and Santa left a gift or two under the ceramic light-up tree for the littles. We had to make sure to wear whatever new clothes we got the night before so the Christmas Cat didn't sniff us out and eat us....and then we go out for Chinese food.
I love how, whenever a movie has a kid acting poorly, the Nostalgia Critic now is nicer about criticizing them. It's almost like he doesn't want to get Bothel, Washington'd again.

@@JoshuaWebbYT Years ago, after several videos of Nostalgia Critic making fun of her movies, a grown up Mara Wilson appeared on his show and released clips of Doug's embarrassing short movies from his teenage years when he lived in Bothel, Washington.
In reality, the whole bit came from Mara Wilson being legitimately hurt by Doug's words in his reviews. He explained that it was all in character and they patched things up. I'm assuming the real reason why he's nicer to kid actors now is because he's more aware of how his words can affect them. I'm not 100% sure on that, though.
He has seen Always Sunny, he mentioned it in his video on Danny Devito.
This movie (and Music Man) is another reason why I often refer to the actor as Matthew Bored-wick; aside from Lion King, Ferris Buller's Day Off, and Producers, he legit sounds bored and uninterested.

You should react to his review of Christmas Story 2 next, that's a pretty funny one. And then maybe his review of Rapsitte Street Kids Believe in Santa
I honestly think this movie needs to be redone again....But this time as an ANIMATED MOVIE...And for the love of god keep true to what the original was about, just little moments in a little town...But you could make some of those little moments seem much bigger than they are...Mainly whenever Old Ralphie is narrating...Like when he goes into detail about Scut Farkus...When he talks about the yellow eyes, you zoom into his face, but his face is getting much darker and his eyes are getting more profound, almost glowing an evil yellow glow...We accept this because it's a fantasy in Ralphie's head...Same with when he starts talking about what punishment he'd get for saying "Fudge"...In his head, he'd be seeing silhouettes of those various tortures, the guillotine, the hanging, the waterboarding, etc...Or when he starts talking about how he felt about Farkus after breaking his glasses...You know, when he said "it's like a fuse blew"...we see inside Ralphie and see a fuse blowing up, you know, old cartoony stuff, but still grounded in reality...No rubber band stuff, and if anything I'd get the animator who did Eight Crazy Nights or Iron Giant...That's what we need for the next time someone wants to do A Christmas Story

I remember one of the commercial breaks being actual live advertisement for fox's upcoming musical movie the greatest showman which fun fact the duo who the songs for the christmas story musical (which a Christmas story live is an obvious adaptation of) wrote all of the songs in greatest showman. And if i'm gonna be honest that's was not a bad way for a studio to advertise one of they're upcoming movies.
I’m not against musicals but a Christmas story is a lot of things but it’s not a musical and this is coming from someone who hasn’t seen it and this thing is absolutely painful to watch
Hey nate I not sure if you haven't seen them but I seen funny takes on classic plays when I was a kid in the UK called Peter pan goes wrong and a christmas carol goes wrong I think you would have a good time.
Good opener/announcer voice there, Nate :) A little bit on the soft side but that might've been an issue with the mic
