@@kazinadbiralamadit6905 because at that time we wanted anything doom related.. doom there was nothing like it it was new, people didnt like it because it wasnt first and second.. but we had nothing else movie/video games were rare, just remember the time it was made..
@@Greenwood4727 at least we got a great fps sequel now with Doom eternal and who knows maybe some director or producer with actual passion for the games can make a good Doom movie.
@@kazinadbiralamadit6905 it was over 10 years from doom 2 to doom 3.. so we were craving something about doom a decade without a doom game , then the movie just one year later, it was the basic cash grab.. if it was a standalone movie it was ok thank god uwe boll wasnt involved .. shudders..
Honestly had Rock grabbed the BFG and asked "What does BFG stand for?"
"Oh, it's Bio Force Gun!"
"Heh, nah, now... It's Big Fucking Gun."
That would connect it seamlessly and immediately make it super awesome weapon. It wouldn't fix how they used it in the movie, but it would help at least a little bit.
I realize that Nostalgia Critic would know stuff about the military. His dad was in the military.
To be fair the whole watch your God damn footing line is actually very relevant to tactical movements and a mistake like the one soldier could get the entire squad killed
Who here would like to see a doom movie in the style of Hardcore Henry based on the 2016 game , cause that would be awesome.😄👌
The best part was that first person scene in the movie so if goes full length like hardcore he ry then it can probably be cool

Joep Verweij That movie sucks hard. And it’s completely biased and insults an actual tragedy that took place in late 1941.
One of my favourite things I've heard is "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is the best video game movie and it isn't even based on a video game."
This made my day. I was forced to stay home from school cause I'm sick, and I hate getting missing work. So thank you guys.

Sadly I never got yo play the original doom games, but thank god I got to play the 2016 version, and I freaking loved it!
The originals aren't very expensive on steam if you ever feel like trying them out.

I enjoyed the movie. And yes I played the games. It's not because the Rock was in it. I just genuinely liked it.

Maybe they just have to have the teleportation room be the same for some reason, and I like the mortal Kombat movies and the resident evil movies, and indoor think the games are better but I just take the movies as a seperate universe where different things happened.

I found it really hilarious that the NC's review of the DOOM film came out near the same time Id Software showed off those kickass DOOM Eternal gameplay videos at this year's Quakecon. Coincidence?... You be the judge.
i'm getting repressed memory (or almost completely forgotten memory) flashbacks to this film and i can't remember where the hell i watched it but all i know was it was so bad i forgot the film even existed 0_o
I remember seeing the trailer for this movie and thinking it was going to be great.
But that was because it was going to be 3-D back before that became the big thing in the trailer only showed the first person shooter aspect and they mentioned the Rock.
With the way it is written, this should have been a Dead Space movie. It would make more sense.
My buddy and I were talking about the Doom movie a couple of weeks ago and we bolth agreed compared to the original game's and paperback novel's the Doom movie is a fun, cheesy, peice of meh. There are some really good video game movie's, such as:
- Wreck it Ralph
- Ratchet and Clank
- Mortal Kombat Legacy 1&2
I had my fingers crossed thinking, "Please don't be Nostalgia Critic or Jontron, please." then he said Markiplier and I let out a huge sigh of relief.
A lot of video game movies are actually good movies. The thing is, they're never gonna be able to make anything that'll be good enough for the "fans".

You know what was also a pretty good video game movie adaptation? The Live-action Tekken movie and the Dead or Alive live-action movie.

+Renegade Media Group YES NATE! The first Resident Evil Movie actually wasn't that bad. The second movie actually wasn't terrible either. Not as good as the first one, but it had Nemesis and Jill Valentine. Come on! But yeah you picked the two Video Game Movies I would have picked as actually good.
Ironically there's going to be a new doom movie supposebly coming out on January 1st, 2019.

@@miciso666 The only thing I know about the movie that it's filmed in Bulgaria, it has a female lead Amy Manson, the demons and Special FX will be done by Autonomous FX and it will have a metal-head backup and the director will be Tony Giglio.

Simple, In each of the doom games it about a space marine, fighting real demons, not a science experiment going wrong.
I honestly liked the second Silent Hill movie, yes I understand that it's inaccurate to the sources and its uses of Pyramid Head were shameless attempts to cash in on his popularity but I appreciated the spectacle and think that if it weren't tied down by the Silent Hill property it could have worked.

OG Tomb Raider and the new Tomb Raider definitely pretty good as for Mortal Kombat the first one is badass I think there were new ones to that came out after Annihilation which was pure garbage which I heard were pretty good

DOOMSLAYER PRIME Correction on the Mortal Kombat part; there were three (or four if I'm forgetting something) series'. "Defenders of Earth Realm" (which was animated), "Conquest", and "Legacy" (which sadly only lasted two seasons, and ended on a damn cliffhanger).
Also, I actually kinda liked "Annihilation" (don't hurt me! Lol). It wasn't great, and it sucks they replaced Raiden (though I like both actors), Sonya (though imo, Annihilation Sonya was a little hotter), and Johnny Cage (seriously, who the hell was that guy?! Lol. And they killed him off just mere minutes! I know he died in the second or third game's story, but come on!), but I found it entertaining... The second time I watched it.
Does anyone know what kind of DVD shelves the nostalgia critic has in this video? I need shelves like that for my collection

I'm guessing that beginning bit was a custom mod made either after the movie came out to mock it or made specially for this review. I'm gonna guess the former though.
Actually Universal is making a new doom movie it's going to be direct to video but the movie is going much closer to the games the director has confirmed that it will have demons from hell take place on Phobos the moon of mars and the doom slayer

I have a question: Do you still have the corrupted file from OBS? I've been thinking about trying to create software that could repair files when that happens. Think about it, how many times has this happened to Let's Players, Reactors, etc.? So, if you've still got the corrupted data file, do you think maybe I could take a look at it and see if I can recover it?

The problem is they chose to base the movie off of Doom 3 rather than Doom 1. Whereas Doom 1 and Doom 2 focused on fast-paced combat and action, Doom 3 focused on much slower combat and greater emphasis on horror... Anyone else seeing the problem here???!!!

As far as video game movies, I have some guilty pleasures. I know they all suck, but it's just so fun to watch them. My guilty pleasure video game movies are: Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Super Mario Bros., Doom, most of the Resident Evil movies, and the first Silent Hill movie. They're just so bad that I can't help but love them!
Honestly when I watched this movie I didn't realize that the female scientist lady was trying to have an american accent I really didn't know cause it was that bad

I watched a different Doom movie on Netflix with my dad and (I'm probably gonna get shit on for this) we both genuinely enjoyed it
Yeah sure there wasn't a lot of Doom monsters in it but neither does this movie, The little easter egg is also fun, They call the BFG what it's actually named instead of dumbing it down, They actually go to Hell in that movie, The characters kinda have more background in it, It was genuinely more enjoyable. Yeah sure most people didn't like it but fuck them like whatever you want to like
So if you want to watch it get on Netflix and look up Doom: Annihilation and give it a watch

I think this was the one and only Nostalgia Critic video that not only !: convinced me to watch the movie after I saw the video, and 2: I honestly disagree with.
again I saw the video before I saw the Movie and tbh....I really enjoyed the movie.
so far i have played Dooms 1 and 2, 64, 2016, and Eternal, and I am really happy this movie is part of that franchise.
But I can see why others don't like it, and I would like to see a more faithful Doom Movie.
