    Your bus is looking so good. It’s moving along quickly! I will be bummed when you’re done because I look forward to and enjoy watching the two of you. Y’all work so well together. It probably seems like a long time for y’all. You’re an inspiration for all young people!

    The miters you used in covering the wheel wells are much better than how you built the frame originally. That's what we call growth, people. Great job, Paco & Meredith!

    EDIT: (We just finished watching!)
    WE LOVE THIS!!!!! It's so cute to see how excited y'all are about having a wood burning stove! You've been crushing the voiceovers lately and the videography is soo sooooo PRO yo! It's gonna be so nice to have a shelving area up by your front door. We like how y'all put in the hardibacker board as a fire barrier. Very smart!!
    Keep rocking it, y'all!!

    Brick or masonary tile also act as a heat sink

    I don't like doing everything with a nail gun. A screw is significantly stronger. You should look at cabinet screws, they have a very small head and you can countersink them, and then go over the top of them with a product called Durham rockhard. I built my wife's vanity almost solely with cabinet screws or some people call them trim screws. They are very strong coming all sizes. But seriously check out Durham rock hard it's basically a wood filler that is just a powder that you add water to. I've been in construction for a long time and I've used a lot of wood fillers but none I like as much as this stuff.

    I believe some pellet small stoves have a rear vent that can go through the side wall as opposed to your beautiful ceiling.

    Cement board installed like this is not a functional heat shield. Heat shields work by using an air gap. Cooler air wants to flow behind the hot shield. You NEED a 1” air gap between your heat shield and combustibles in order to safely reduce clearances. Brick, tile, sheet metal, cement board; the material doesn’t matter because the air is what is doing the work. Please be safe and don’t start a fire in your bus by just blindly following what other skoolies have done!
    If you go with the Cubic Mini or the Tiny Wood Stove, clearances can safely be brought down to 6” with a proper shield. All other wood stoves that I have seen require no less than 1’ of clearance with a shield. You cannot ever safely reduce clearances below 6” in any circumstance.
    The flue pipe must also be shielded to reduce clearances below 18”.

      @graymayhem2410 Před 3 lety +1

      It’s worth reading the Tiny Wood Stove website about how to build a heat shield safely.

      It would be cool to cut tiles for the fire place to match the wood design you made outside the bus.

    tiling would work too around the woodburner as long as it isnt to thin a tile , maibe you have some left from the shower too
    maibe using a lot of flat pebbles would look nice , it would be a lot of work to fit those one at a time and grouting it
    seen a few desighns on youtube for a woodstove based of a propane bottle , these are small and still look pretty nice
    czcams.com/users/results?search_query=propane+bottle+woodstove
    having a local welder build one for you might be cheaper then getting a storebought one , does need to be carefull about carbon monoxide though
