  • Alright Peeps...
    In this video my wife (Georgina) and I are showing you a Complete Guide, from beginning to end, on how to design a wardrobe and create Visuals.
    We are designing a 5 door Wardrobe, with a mixed layout. Hanging rails, shelving and drawers.
    We also go through lots of different useful tools make make life easier.
    We go through how we easily create shaker style doors too.
    At the end, we save our files so we can go back and edit the sketch at any time in case of customer changes and then save 2d graphics ( photos ) of the finished drawing to add into emails etc.
    I hope you enjoy and let me know if you have any questions.
    Enjoy
    Ryan

    Click 'Edit' > 'Delete Guides' for a quicker solution. I am self-taught on SU too, so I learnt some basics from you in this video - stuff I just hadn't discovered before. I guess we all end up with gaps in our skills because we're learning only as much as we need to keep going with the drawing we're working on. I'm still hit & miss with remembering to make every element a component.

      @@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop do you have any recommendations for myself to get into cabinet making/installing like yourself? Just finished my nvq level 3 as a more mature learner so will struggle to start on apprentice wages

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  Před rokem +1

      That's a tough one, generally you work your way up with a company and learn as you go, and then your wages would go up as you progress.
      I think that is still your best bet. It all depends on what you can do I suppose.
      I did that, but don't think I was in great wages for a while. But I think times have changed, there are minimum wages companies have to pay if you are a certain age. I'd recommend emailing around and seeing if anyone is interested in taking you on?

    Thanks for the video, I should spend more time on Instagram really. How's the work bench coming along? Have you ever tried using SketchUp to get technical drawings to build from and do sheet cut list?

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  Před 2 lety +1

      No probs, I have tried before but the fact you need to make every single component a full component ( not my cheaty way lol) it's not really worth it for me personally.
      I like do my technical drawings by hand and then working out the cutting list from them. The cut lists don't take long at all once I've done the drawings 👍

    Excellent guide to cabinet designing with step by step instructions. Well done to both of you and thank you very much for walking us thru so patiently. I wonder why you haven't already received a million likes yet.
    I had some initial hickup with the web version of Sketchup. A couple of tips for the newbies - sketchup web version is free for your personal work, so don't just walk away from this amazing tool. Use "?" to open the search panel, and type whatever you are looking for. Usually, there will be a hot key next to the search results, and the more you use this tool the more you will learn to use those hotkeys. e.g. 'o' for Orbit, 'l' for Line, 'f' for Offset, 'r' for Rectangle, 'c' for Circle and so on.
