Self realization could be interpreted as an advancement of yourself. However, the new you could be also seen as a new person entirely, leading the old you to practically immolate yourself to make the new you happier. (New you is a stranger, you sacrificed everything for.)

@@chonglengli You have pretty much defined my interpretation. Except it's not just advancement of the self, but the *achievement* of creating the self. The old "you" and the idea of the new "you" struggle against each other fighting for supremacy, creating chaos within. Doubt will pop up in your mind to push you off of your desired path to the new "you"... so you have to immolate your old self, which is obviously painful, as the old "you" is still *YOU* , but it is also your greatest enemy in achieving your goals.

Thank you guys, just to make sure i understood, I will try to make a example, someone who constantly "falling in love" just to have a meaning in life is trying to create his self by abandoning this belief that he can only be completed by having someone by his side and live for that person. He is trying to insert in his head that this is not okay and he should change to something better. Problem is, the you that you want to achieve is always battling with the old you, you need to immolate the old one to create the new one. You need to ignore the callings from the old one and make sure he is not heard.

The feeling of hearing this song is so different after playing Ender Lilies. I feel so much weight of burden Lily and Fretia carries
If you get Ending C (not easy, mind you), you can finally relieve Fretia of her burden without Lily ending up as just the next host for the Blighted Lord, avoiding continuing the cycle of suffering. Well worth it if you haven't already.
That said, it's still a deeply moving song for me, and you're right about it communicating their burdens very vividly!

I found that momocashew's vocal improved whole lot. Loved her voice since Mag Mell but it became more than perfect by this song. + beautiful lyrics and melody of this song harmonized with vocal giving me absolute pleasure. Thanks for great work. Your music makes me live.

Don't get me wrong I love String Theocracy, Phantom Cat of Meowloween and Iron Lotus to bits, but I absolutely adore both the slower feeling and the greater focus on the piano in this song. Especially after the feel of Mili's other more recent songs, this contrast is nice.

The lyrics can be read as talking about a love that they tried to put their all into that was never going to be returned and how they wish they never fell in love because it was impossible for their feelings to be returned in the first place.
If you take the heavy emphasis of lilies which can symbolize lesbians combined with the lyrics on unrequited love it's not a huge stretch.
Tho not really a relationship more like a lesbian whos crush didn't like them back and how they feel disappointed.
It feels like someone who gave up everything for someone only for it to be not enough.

The full game this song is from just released a couple days ago on Steam, and its a gorgeous game. I think if you like the darker side aesthetic of Mili's music, you might like the game. They matched well

Came here just after finishing Ender Liles. Getting ending C as my first ending.
Words can't describe how amazing this game is. The soundtracks. The bosses. The fantastic setting and story.
I am so happy I randomly saw it on PS store and liked the designs. Truly one of the best games I've ever played.

And ofc the mid cutscene when you have the tablet.
After finishing the game, this song feels so weighty, like a bunch of burdens placed on me...some part of me wants to cry for this song.
Also the game is a 9/10, Hoping for DLC to make it a 10/10, story is pretty nice although fragmented behind all the secrets.
I was actually talking about this with my sister; the story is so wonderful but the dark souls effect of having everything be hidden away and secretive drives me nuts nowadays xD. I just want to know about this wonderful world they created.

Originally I loved this song because it reminded me of TPN as well as a story I was writing.
A few months later, I found out a very close family member had cancer. This song was stuck in my head for weeks then, it fit so perfectly how I felt, and I couldn't stop singing it. It's the epitome of sadness and loneliness, and the fear of loss and grief. It's one of my favourite songs now, and to me, the saddest. I know it word for word and it is a melody that means a lot to me.

As there is a slight but powerful difference between if you read it as "there is liberty...not meant for me" vs "...in this world not meant for me" I'm not sure what the plot of the game this song is for, but those lyrics pack a wallop.

엔더 릴리즈를 오늘 다 깼습니다. 스포일러 당하지 않게 조심하며 세 가지 엔딩을 다 봤습니다. 제 인생 게임 중 하나가 되었습니다. C엔딩 후 엔딩 크레딧과 함께 나오던 이 음악에서 느낀 감동은 정말 최고였습니다. 이런 음악을 만들어주셔서 감사합니다!

very epic games all of them, I found Mili through Library Of Ruina and then found Ender Lilies through Mili :D

When I first booted up the game, I recognized Mili's voice immediately, I just found out that Mili had their hand in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights OST, which made me excited for the game even more :D
Just finished the game and now its title makes so much sense to me its effed up
God I loved everything about this game
