    I made these last night...best onion rings I have ever had. The better than bouillon sauteed onion made it the best ever.

    A tip on buttermilk: Sacco makes a powdered buttermilk that works so equal to fresh that you can make a perfect buttermilk pie with it... without being stuck with an open carton of buttermilk you won't use, taking up space in your fridge until you finally guiltily throw it out. 4 tablespoons Sacco + 1 cup water = buttermilk! Look for it in the baking aisle.

      Hey! Thanks for this info! I need buttermilk for a fried breaded chicken I make. I usually just add vinegar with milk. It works but I rather use the buttermilk.

      Oh yeah, and the buttermilk pancake recipe on the Sacco tub is the best EVER.

      I substitute it for buttermilk in making bread loaves. Much, much, much, much better than liquid buttermilk.

    As a Utahan and a Mormon I am a connoisseur of fry sauce. I commend you on your excellent fry sauce recipe and I will be using it next time I need it. Great onion rings. Love them.

    I tried the Sautéed Onion flavor before seeing this and it is gold. I add a teaspoon or two to most my dishes now and it has stepped up the flavor of all my dishes. For a quick side i added 1/2 teaspoon of the sautéed onion, 1 tablespoon of salted butter and 1 tablespoon shredded parmesan to a 60 second pasta pack. It was great with rich onion flavor. Best flavor yet.

    Love your instant pot recipes. The onion rings look awesome. Question. I have an air fryer that I quite honestly haven’t given it a chance. What’s your thoughts of using an air fryer for this recipe?

    Jeff, I gave your cookbook to my cousin and she's made 3 recipes out it already. She's a really good cook and she just loves your book. She doesn't have an instant pot (yet) but she adapted the recipes for the oven. SHE LOVES THEM.

    Just finished a batch! I went to the store when you posted this this morning! I only made half a batch (just for me) it was fantastic! The better than bouillon added the perfect touch to blend with the beer. Thanks for the recipe! It will forever be in my arsenal.

    I love BTB, have a half dozen varieties, my favorite is 'ham' to go with Southern butter beans and baby limas. But this sounds intriguing. My local groceries only carry the beef and chicken, but I've had great and prompt service ordering directly from the BTB website. Best wishes from the Houston area!

    Happy to hear about this new onion bouillon. Who doesn’t love onion rings?! With deep frying, have you ever heard about laying the food in away from you instead of dropping it in the hot oil? It prevents any splash backs. It’s a technique used by the Brits for deep frying their fish n chips for a long, long, time.

    Better Than Bouillon - onion flavored onion rings! I like to sprinkle a little salt when they come out of the fryer, No? but your salt built into the dip. Good idea.
    Better Than Bouillon used to have mushroom bouillon that I miss.

    BTB is a staple in my pantry/fridge! I used Sautéed Onion in my French onion soup a few weeks ago, but I also used the Beef, 50/50. It was amazing! I'm definitely going to have to try your onion rings...... YUM!

    I have become a huge fan of Better Than Boullion! I have almost all of the flavors except I cannot find the Lobster flavor! This product is so much better than the canned broth or powdered. I make my 'fry sauce" with katsup, mayonaise and chili powder. And if I want it spicy, a few drops of hot sauce or siracha.

    You have an air fryer top for your IP and you can cook the onion rings in the IP just spry them with spray oil.

      Anything that has a batter like this that you would like to put it the air fryer, you can, but put it in the freezer for 15 minutes right after you batter it. That will set the batter well.

    After frying is finished does the oil have to be discarded? Can it be saved to use again (a few more times)? It would have be strained first before storage. I'm an el cheapo.

      Yes, after it is open I keep mine in refrigerator. Unopened ones I store in my cupboard.
