    Great video. Very helpful! I'm a church drummer who plays at least twice a week and this helped me realize I probably don't need to fork up the money for the UE11's and just go with the 6's instead. I do love nice things but I think saving the $400 makes sense for me

      @KennySharretts  Před 2 lety +2

      The 6’a will be great for church drumming. Again I emphasize the 11’s are amazing, but when watching the budget, the 6’s are awesome for those who need a little more bass in their headspace. 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I use mine all the time. Thank you so much for the kind words, and for watching. 🙏

    So glad I stumbled across this. I've been using UE5's and 6's for several years, and as a guitarist they were fine. I've recently joined a very busy tribute band here in Austin as a singing bassist, and I've been struggling to get my vocals to come through in my mix. I've been torn between getting the UE7s or the 11s, but you've sold me on the 11's.
    Thanks again. You never know, maybe our paths will cross sometime!

      @KenCarver Absolutely my brother. I love a good tribute band. If you are playing bass you will love the extra bottom end. Vocals are crisp in both the 7’s and 11’s. However, on the most recent Dead & Co tour I was reminded of just what the 11’s bring to the table for drummers, and bassists. You will love these ESPECIALLY since you have been using the 6’s, this change will be a whole new world. I swapped between both the 6’s and 11’s during the tour. While the 6’s sound amazing, there’s another whole level of separation with the 11’s. Be sure to use my code KENNYSUE at

    Thanks for the review. There's an choice to have an ambient feature which allows the option for 12db of stage bleed, do you think it's worth having as an additional or not?

    • @KennySharretts
      @KennySharretts  Před 3 lety +1

      Man that’s a common question. For me I want no bleed, but for some having the ambient port option in makes them feel more connected to the room. Just keep track of the plugs. Lololol! Btw if you are using my code via the link apply it on the final purchase page. That’s where it works.

    Hey Kenny. Great review. Im wondering if you have any experience with the UE7’s? Im not a drummer but a vocalist and I’ve read the 7’s have a greater midrange response to help with clarity and transients, especially from a vocal point of you, my problem is the 7’s are right at the top of my budget, so can the 6’a cut the mark for me, or should I just be aiming for the 7’s? Thanks mate.

    • @KennySharretts
      @KennySharretts  Před 2 lety +2

      Howdy Jay. Maaaan I have a pair of 7’s. They were my first model of molds. I love them. Still love them to this day. They are my GO TO for low volume/acoustic gigs BECAUSE of their amazing vocal clarity. Soooo easy to sing with 7’s especially because I can easily get great separation from the other instruments in the mix without sacrificing mix quality. That’s why I love my 11’s for my gigs as a singing drummer. They are basically 7’s with a sub. 🤣 Since most gigs these days don’t use subs the 11’s add that kick I need but with zero sacrifice of the vocal clarity I get when using my 7’s. I like my 6’s but the 7’s are a HUGE step up for not much more. As a vocalist you don’t need a ton of bass raging in your ears. You need vocal clarity. @@KennySharretts this is great to hear! I’m a lead singer/front man in a rock band who loves an even mix like a record with my vocals a bit on top with some reverb. I was debating between 7 and 11s and didn’t know if the 11s would muddy up the vocals. I’m very intrigued by the clarity and separation of vocals the 7s supposedly have and I’ve been told the 11s are for drummers/bass and would not be good for singers and that the 7 is the “best” choice. I wasn’t sure if I believe the marketing blurbs that it sounded like they were repeating. I want an IEM that inspires me and makes me want to perform. I like to hear the kick and follow the rhythm. I wanna shake my hips, not analyze my every note. It sounds like the 11s will have the great vocal clarity of the 7s but with extra power and energy to help me get inspired. Is that your experience with the 11s or are 7s the better choice? Thanks!!

  • @miles_clyatt
    @miles_clyatt Před 2 lety +2

    Thanks for the review! you mention that a staple of the 6s is that they offer consistency...do the 11s not offer the same level of consistency? I have the budget to pay for the 11s if they are better, but consistency is def something I value. Do you think it better to go with the 6s if thats the case?

    • @miles_clyatt
      @miles_clyatt Před 2 lety

      also wondering if you have a recommendation for a personal headphone amp for touring! thanks again

    • @KennySharretts
      @KennySharretts  Před 2 lety +2

      By consistency I meant it didn’t matter who was mixing, the 6’s always had a consistent tone to the mix, but they are not nearly as clear, or powerful as the 11’s. It’s like someone put a compressor on the mix that keeps the dynamics in check so everything sounds the same. The 11’s are much more dynamic, and sensitive, as well as more responsive to changes you make to your mix. I use 11’s as a drummer and a tech. My current artist with Dead & Co. uses 11’s. If you have the cash get the 11’s. 6’s are great, but the 11’s? Amazing! Please use my code as it will save you 20% on the 11’s. Just follow the details in the vid’s description.
      For my local gigs I’ve been using the UE Sound Tap as my headphone amp. Love it! Sounds great, and has a filter that keeps you from blowing out your ears. I’ll remind myself self of the amps we used on Janet Jackson/Elvis Costello, and get you that make as well. They sound great, and are very durable. Thank you for watching.

    This review was awesome. I'm thinking of picking up the 11s. I'm coming from westone ES50s, which were nice but had to warranty them 3 times in 2 years. What is UEs customer service like and their repair times? Westone took 2-3 months each time...

      Hi Jacob. For some reason this comment just showed up in my feed. I know it’s been a moment, but I will say UE’s customer service, and repair turnaround are absolutely awesome. Their goal is to get it right, and get it back to you ASAP. They know it’s an essential tool for you. Btw the only time I’ve had to have my UE IEM’s serviced is when I stepped on one. Well you will def get that with the 11’s. I did, however, just do a few shows with my 6’s after months on my 11’s and I was again impressed by the cohesive sound of the 6’s. In the end the 11’s will be more clear, a bit more powerful, and with a bit punchier/thicker bass at your fingertips. The only thing then is to not overload your EQ with bass. Thank you so much for watching, and commenting. Please remember to use my code KENNYSUE at checkout if you buy the 11’s as it will give you 20% off of the price.
