Less than 60 seconds but this is the most on point things ever said. Thank you Helen! I have been trying my hardest to be kind and compassionate towards trans people. I've even been one of the people saying that it's not what you say but how you say it and by and large the trans community has proved me wrong. Time after time again. I used the pronouns...but it wasn't enough. I suggested that there could be reasonable accommodations for transwomen in female spaces depending on the point of transition they're actually at...but it wasn't enough. I said there was no problem with transmen or female non-binary identified people being in women's sports so long as they choose between that and medical transition...but it wasn't enough. I proposed the view that 'transwomen are transwomen' as a middle ground between saying they were still men or calling them women, feeling it allowed acknowledgement of both biological sex differences and their gender identity...but it wasn't enough. It never seems to be enough. I run a Space for women on Quora where I write my views always from the point of view of defending women's rights. I don't seek out trans people and harass them in any way, trying to tell them that they can't do this or that. They come to me to do that themselves. I've been called slurs, had lies told about me, a campaign to get me and my Space banned from the platform and so many other women who post with us can say the same. Just yesterday we had one being accused of weaponizing her trauma against a 'certain type of woman'. The aggression towards women, the sense of entitlement these men have to all things female, seems to be growing by the day. My group isn't even 'trans exclusionary'. We tried to have gender neural bathrooms at my work. Two stalls, but when one person goes in and locks the door, it makes the line of people waiting longer. We also had repeated drug users locking themselves in there for a long time, to where we had to go in, and force them to leave.
