Spiritual, I haven’t gotten off the Ballroom Floor! At first I was extremely Critical of band members, now a fan !

To my taste Mitchel Forman is the most musical and sensible pianist Shorter ever had. At least in some ways better than Tom Canning, Jim Beard, Danilo Perez, Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, ... in the sense of being more smooth, nuanced and organic.

Michael D. Nichols: I adore many of Zawinuls compostions as well as his unique style and contributions to jazz history. But the tunes played here are _Beauty and the beast, Face on the barroom floor, The three Marias,_ non of which were written by JZ. The second one is on the 1985 Weather Report LP though, that's true.

Smooth and jazz are two words that should never be uttered together.
