Once they stop making conventional engines the prices for cars like this is going to skyrocket I have a feeling.. for the simple reason they're not making them anymore. My concern is what are they going to do about parts for repairs on things like transmissions suspension steering or the heartbeat of it, the engine.
So glad that LC500 comes in the 1st place! I have the LC coupe for 3 years and still having goosebumps every time I press the "Start" button. What an amazing work of art.
I know what you mean. There is just something about these cars where you never get tired of getting in and pushing that START BUTTON and just driving..
Same here! I’ve had my ‘18 LC since 2019 and have modded it to exactly how I like. This video reminded me how nicely the Cabriolet could replace my hard top🔥🥹

I’ve owned many porches and jaguars and then I bought a 2022 LC 500 coupe and never looked back . My heart beat always revs up when I start her. !!!!!
Just bought a convertible LC500. I skip work just to drive this car! The exhaust and paddle shifts are very similar to the Lexus LFA. You got all of this with Toyota/Lexus Reliabilty.

LC 500 All the way! I think it will go up in value in the next 10 years, last of the true naturally aspirated V8s built with quality and reliability in mind.
I've had my 2018 LC for about 4 1/2 years now. If there is such a thing as "Perfect", this car is just that! Having owned a bunch of cars throughout my life, none comes close to the LC500 and that includes cars that cost almost five times as much. What more could anyone want in an automobile? It certainly doesn't need to be any faster considering we drive on public roads. Mechanically it's superb. It's rolling art from every angle. The fit and finish is awesome inside and out. It's so comfortable you can drive all day and not get stiff or tired. Usually I get tired of a color combination but the InfraRed with Toasted Caramel still makes my heart flutter. Living in the Bay Area, the 20" wheels were the only sensible choice since we have pot holes where time and space gets lost. The best part is this car will never leave you stranded in the rain at 2 a.m. by the side of the road. There are other cars and that's exactly what they are "other cars". Nothing comes close to this one.

We have a 2000 celica. It might be the whole “drive slow cars fast” but it is such a fun car. Obviously not a GT. Fun 5 speed manual, open the sunroof, roll the windows down. It is lowered. Take twisty backroads at 60. That is what most people would enjoy.
I also love the LC500. I want one. It is an investment- better than a house.
Lexus is smooth, luxurious and reliable.

I have been riding a GS460 since 2006 and it has more than 312,00 km on the hump. I love her! In the meantime I have also driven a GS460, about 150T km. It was a great car!
For 2 months now I have also been driving an LC500 convertible (model 2023). Not everything is absolutely perfect, but the design and the engine with 10 gears are perfect. It is very quiet up to 180 km/h at 2100rpm, you can really relax and listen music or talk. With a defensive driving style, it only consumes approx. 8.8 l/100 km on the highway. Now I’m waiting for higher temperatures and sunshine!

Has to be the LC , had the Jag SVR new - in the shop 6 months and after 12 months of not fixing engine whine at over 110 mph I got rid of it. Very sad, but
The LC is a bit slower, but enjoyable and reliable, with a better and more practical cabin - what I’m ordering now.

so just my 2 cents. Should have put in a 850i. the M4 is not the same competition. Also the terrible infotainment system is REAL let down for this car. So after all at the end of the day I will be going with the M850i convertible. Let me know your thought's. Thank you
Great video. On the lexus, that bar with the screen that goes across the back to improve wind dynamics, it appears to block off those seats completely, right? So you couldn’t squeeze a couple small kids back there? Also, how does it go in? Automatic, or you out it in and it stays as the top goes or and down?
Thanks! Correct, and the latter. You manually put it in and it just chills back there until you remove it.

@@gavinwalker5686 I don’t mean to be a downer, but my spouse just bought an LC convertible. I doubt kids would fit in the back seats unless they don’t have legs or the driver and/or passenger are willing to sacrifice leg room up front. Purses and gym bags are probably more realistic as far as what you’d put in the back seat. But get the LC anyhow! Just have a family friendly vehicle in addition to the LC!
Final numbers were skewed due to the zeros given for fuel efficiency to all cars other than the mini. 25% of the total mini score was fuel efficiency. Jag and Bmer would have been over mini (a more realistic result). Nice video.
Def agree. A Prius XLE and it would have scored above the M4 and the Jag, despite it being neither a GT or a convertible, purely based on it being cheap + fuel efficient + having usable tech.
Personally, I think that the Lexus IS the most well rounded , although it's a tough call between that and the M4 for me. I ended up getting the M4 because I needed the AWD but honestly it would have been a toss up if that wasn't the case. I guess it depends on what you want. The LC500 is hands down the best GT car on the market. However I think the M4 the best sports car if that makes sense.

Good GT, Terrible sports car.
Bad steering, very heavy, terrible leather interior, very slow power delivery and a lot more other reasons. I've driven all these cars and I would definitely choose the f-type r
@kandychea1656 completely agree. The LC is a fabulous car for an hour or two. I'm being facetious of course, but like you wrote, the LC is very heavy feeling/stearing, the power is s build up feel, not a rocket like the F Type. I still get giddy when I get to take my F Type down the block to get something from the grocery store. The Lexus is gorgeous, but boring.
I'm torn which one to purchase this year in December......either the 2024 Jag F-Type R or the 2024 Lexus LC500. I have owned a Lexus and also a Jag in the past and both were amazing. What is your opinion? Which should I go with?

@@Krezo200 I actually ended up purchasing a brand new Jaguar F-Type (non-convertible). Test drove both cars and it was a hard choice but the Lexus felt a bit too comfortable and not so much like a sports car. When I test drove the F-Type it was a completely altogether different feeling than the LC500. Not saying I do not love the LC500 cause if I had the money I would buy that car too. On top of that my wife said the LC500 just has way too big of an ass....lol. After that it came down to money and interest rate. Lexus would not budge on their price of $124k (non-convertible) and was giving a higher interest rate. Jaguar was giving me the better deal and better rate so went with that route. Absolutely been loving the car except for the issue they mentioned in the video of the infotainment screen not being that great and Carplay & Android Auto only working 50% of the time ---this is absolutely true.
Makes no sense to compare cars of different categories as they realised at the end.
8 series convertible or SL roadster would've made more sense than the m4 and a mini.
That way all cars would be in the same category and price bracket.

The Jaguar🐆 has the worst reliability score, the Beamer has absolutely ugly oinker nostrils🐷 that are a big turn off and the Mini looks like a bug🐞

Having been a prior F-Type R owner... it DOMINATES this group of weaker competitors(?) but I do agree that the infotainment SUCKS! The Jag can get 26 MPG on flats for long distances

Interior is the only plus in my books. I bought an f type r coincidentally after cross shopping the other 2 cars mentioned in this video (not the mini). Also considered the amg gt but I felt it a lesser c8 corvette after driving both.
It depends what you want from a car.
Also, many people have a wrong impression of the car because of the misleading "weak" performance numbers.
And this gentlemen proves it, he is a Mercedes AMG-GTs owner and he was among many others who thought the
Lexus LC was inferior against its german competitors............................................................... until he test drove it.
