This was done as a response to the Pulse nightclub shooting, in solidarity with fellow members of the LGBTQ community. So powerful.
Another commentor already mentioned this but I wanted to highlight the recommendation for Scott Hoying and Mario Jose's cover of Lost on You, originally done by LP. (LP's LIVE version of Lost on You is another great watch!). Scott took the Lost on you melody and lyrics and paired it with Time, a Hans Zimmer composition from the movie soundtrack for Inception. What a genius!!

I agree that BJC's cover of Creep is amazing! Don't know if you have heard Pentatonix's cover of Creep yet. It very different but I love it. If you do choose to view it, do the version from The Masked Singer after they were unmasked. It is the best version to see. Those two versions are the best I have heard.

This performance was in response to the 06/12/2016 shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, when 49 people were killed and another 53 others were wounded
I live near Orlando and the Pulse nightclub shooting was such a terrible, horrible event - so when I heard this, it went straight to my heart - and does everytime I hear it. It moves me deeply.
Full body chills with this one every time. As others have suggested, PTX’s cover of Creep on The Masked Singer (unmasked version) is excellent.

Superfruit was Mitch and Scott’s channel but they collaborated with others from time to time. They did some great songs, but they also had some just crazy, quirky stuff happening as well. It was always a surprise each week to see what they’d come up with. The week Scott shaved Mitch’s hair off was a memorable one. 😂❤

Scott played that background piano you liked and I love how it was just Scott, then just Mitch, then both of them. I will always love their two voices together! There is no big mystery to the success of Pentatonix's unique and compelling sound. The reason becomes very apparent whenever you pare it back and hear any two of them singing together, but Superfruit is special. I enjoy Mary's vocal choices, there was this emotional gentle loveliness as a contrast to the big vocal harmonies and power solos that worked really well. One of my favorite parts is Mitch's lilting cry moving as a counterpoint to the melodic line. It just grips me and makes me tear up every time. I loved the reaction!

Mario's voice is so unique n beautiful. He tried out for American Idol or some other talent show but did not get far. He was selling t shirts and doing other stuff in the PTX concert crew when they found out he could sing. They gave him advice ti improve his performance and then put him as their opening act. They secretly paid for his parents to come watch as a surprise.
You can see him and Scott duet in Lost on u. Scott had to splay his legs to get to Mario's height. Mario now has a music career.
Mario started as one of PTX’s tour assistants, PTX had him open for them a few times, he’s sooo good Mary Lambert was featured on Macklemore’s Same Love.
I originally found PTX through this video! Did a CZcams search to see what my favorite AGT contestant EVER had been doing and found this! PTX’s version of “Hallelujah” was in the recommended and I was lost, lol.
Brian has so many good songs posted, but my favorite is still his “All I Ask/Believe” - the way he manages to convey such emotion through his voice and expression is just amazing. His version of “Creep” remains my favorite - while I love PTX, I don’t really care for their version 😢

The pianist for Superfruit is Scott. I don't know if you've seen Pentatonix's Thank You but it was composed by Scott and his partner and he plays the piano in it whilst Kevin is on the cello. Thank You was Scott thanking his partner for the support given to him (each other) during Lockdown.

For great harmonies please react to Forestella, known as The Kings Of Harmony. They're a South Korean crossover male quartet. Try Inner Universe, Hijo De La Luna, Je Suis Malade, Bohemian Rhapsody or Time In A Bottle. Great originals too.
Mario Jose has a couple songs with Scott Hoying. I apologize but titles are escaping me. Mario was discovered while working for Pentatonix and they realized he could sing.

The best one is Lost On You ( a cover of LP's song) coupled with the music from Inception is sublime Both men have strong unique vocals and it shows so much in this. It's under the Superfruit label.
Katy Perry's official video for "Rise" looks nothing like this; it shows Katy Perty trying to use a parachute as some kind of hang glider, starting from a dead stop on the ground and running to try to catch the wind. My feeling is that she was releasing it into a vacuum and was having trouble thinking of an interesting way to present it.
SuperFruit and friends, on the other hand, were putting all their outrage and love into this song, in response to a vicious attack on the LGBTQ+ community. They were expressing a conviction that it's not only possible but necessary for people to stand up for themselves in defiance of the odds; that this is how we make change happen, both in the world and in our own lives.
You skipped the description, where they dedicated this song. It reads:

SuperFruit is the channel Mitch and Scott used as a vlog during the years that they were living together. Their last post to it was "The Promise," on February 14, 2019. "Rise" and "The Promise" are the only two genuinely serious things they posted.
Yes, they occasionally collaborated. In this case, all five singers are members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as being excellent singers. I see you've already reacted to their Frozen medley; in that one they collaborated with Kirstin (it's the only SuperFruit post I can think of where Kirstin appears). They also published two albums, _Future Friends 1 and 2,_ and posted the official videos to SuperFruit. They hired professional dancers for those.
Eh, Goodbye from Lonely isn't particularly funny - sweet and wistful, rather.
I am also a huge fan of BJC. He has some amazing covers. If you want to hear more of Mario, check out his cover of lost on you with Scott Hoying. It is stunning. Mario has a great voice that really shines on that piece....

Without the slightest doubt, absolutely my favorite Superfruit performance AND my favorite version of Rise I've ever heard. Disagree about the the beat boxing. I think this was much more powerful as a pure acapella performance without any supplemental additions.

I really do feel like a lot of the arrangement for this had to come from Scott/Mitch just because there's aspects of this that really feel PTX like.

A couple of years ago Brian released an album called "Divas". He does covers of all of our favorite divas including Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston etc..... Absolutely breath taking. He also does a version of "Shallow" and he sings both parts. I guarantee you'll love it!!!
