  • In this video I demonstrate how to Apply an appliqué patch to a hat blank using a Vevor Hatpress.
    This press works great. In this demo you will see that I pressed twice for the one patch. That was simply because I missed one top corner when I aligned the hat on the press. This is a good unit and will do the job as well as other small transfer jobs.

    How do you not get a crease near the sewing of the 6 panel hat? Everytime I get a crease no matter how much cushion I add.

      Hello, have you tried decreasing the amount of pressure using the tension adjustment on the top plate? A lot of of experimentation unfortunately . I use a silicone sheet and also a pose of thin cardboard has been helpful to me. Good luck.

    Thanks for the vid…. How do you get rid of the box-shaped imprint left from the press, it sort of squared the front of the hat off and made a crease along the top where the heat press ended. If you’re trying to possibly sell the hats, what is the best way to avoid or get rid of that? Thank you!

    • @seemycapeproductions7833
      @seemycapeproductions7833  Před rokem +2

      Hello, great question. Although I’m not a professional my suggestions would be…
      1. Make sure you don’t have the the heat plate too tight. Maybe experiment by loosening the tension some.
      2. Make sure the heat plate is not too hot so you do not overheat and burn the hat.
      3. Make sure you have the inside rim of the hat folded out so that it is not in the press when applying the patch or appliqué.
      4. Lastly, I use Teflon sheets between the heat press and my hat to avoid burn and impression of the plate

      I hope these suggestions help.
      Cheers!

    I just got this heat press and I’m getting creases on hats, especially the foam trucker style. Any advice on how to avoid this? I lessened the pressure, but was worried about it adhering.

    • @seemycapeproductions7833
      @seemycapeproductions7833  Před rokem

      Hello, yeah, the creases can be an issue. Especially with the foam based trucker style hats. You need to be extra careful with how much heat you use so you don’t scorch or melt the hat. I have not used this style of hat for that reason. However you might try using Teflon sheets on top and see if you get better results. I use them on my regular hats at it seemed to decrease the amount of indentation made by the press. Here’s a link: amzn.to/3qJKhuU
      Good luck. Let me know if it works for you.

    • @seemycapeproductions7833

      I don’t see why not. A leather appliqué should work the same. This press has adjustable heat and pressure adjustment so…. I think it would work well. ( disclaimer)- I am not affiliated with the manufacturer or distributor’s of this press. I am a consumer who just uses this press.

      I use a teflon sheet. If that does not help, try reducing the amount of pressure on the press by loosening the tension knob on top. I have also used a small piece of thin card stock. I hope this helps.

    Sorry guys but the vevor machine I bought is a total piece of crap! Heat temperature was going all over the place and not constant at all. Ruined several hats before I checked the temperature with a temp gun. Temp would rise and fall by 35 to 40 degrees the whole time it was on. I was not aware of it until I ruined a few hats. Tech support said that was normal. That was my answer and solution. Awful way to lose money. Threw it in the trash. They would not honor my warranty. Done. Best be careful when buying this machine or at least check it out before your 30 days runs out.

      Yeah, it can be a bit of a crapshoot when buying heat presses that are lower in cost. The only way around it is to buy the more expensive models from places like Pro World. This model in in the video has worked well for me. I’ve used it for hats and other small areas on shirt pockets and and stuff. However, I purchased mine from amazon and the first one had a faulty control unit. I actually contacted the manufacturer, not amazon. They sent me a brand new one and it’s been great! Sorry for your experience.

    • @seemycapeproductions7833
      @seemycapeproductions7833  Před rokem +1

      Hello, the spring tensioner helps pull the cap tightly against the heat bed. However, it’s important to make sure your heat settings are not too hot for the materials in the cap. Nylon is probably more sensitive and could be damaged with too much heat. That being said, this heat press is durable and works as it should and expected. I for one have had a few failures as I learned. I do not work or represent Vevor in any way but do have two of their presses and recommend them.
