The saying "The customer is always right" was originally meant to tell employees to not judge their customers for their tastes. It's a shame that so many people are using it as an excuse to treat workers like garbage
And it's meaning went from "the customer is entitled to what they buy" to "the customer is fuckin' invincible"
They should really make a small change with that rule by saying "The Customer is not always right". Jeez at least in the Philippines that kind of rudeness and disrespect doesn't happen even if the customers had a really hard time

Today I ordered a boba and accidentally dropped it and it went splashing all over the floor. I felt so embarrassed and so sorry for the workers who had to re make it for free and the woman who had to clean my mess. I apologised and bowed on instinct as well, because in my culture you must bow to seniors. I apologised like a billion times while bowing over and over again. I can’t believe these people would do these things to people who work so hard.

Retail workers and fast food workers deserve a lot of respect! They spend most of the day standing on their feet for long hours and does not get paid enough. These rude customers who mistreat them and attack them should be ashamed of themselves!

I can't believe how ugly, crazy, worse some people can be. I'm a Muslim, so it was truly hard for me to see how someone treats another person just based on their religion. Well, I respect other religions too and I know that no religious person can say something bad about another religion. So she just F*** up her own self there. Also, the way the waitress screamed was so painful to hear. For me, that felt like he threw acid on her. Really!!! We need to respect these workers, they are humans too ! They aren't meant to be treated like garbage. My Dad always taught me to say "Thank you" to every worker who serves the food , places and order for our food , provides the change etc. I could never act like that to anyone !

There is no excuse for a customer to ever treat employees with this type of behavior. Even if the employee can be rude or be having a bad day one should be able to manage their emotions, keep their cool and just walk out and do business elsewhere or if you have to take the Karen route and speak to the manager just simply bring it to their attention and let them work the situation out.
And there's my dad, who doesn't even dare to give back the food because the gave me the wrong order. He just thought to himself that the chef has spent his time making this so he has to respect that and accept eating it. He doesn't even care about the food tastes good or not

Worked at a local cinema in my country and whenever there's a new movie release there's always a never ending queue and usually I have to deal with it *alone!* Printing tickets, selling of f&b and packing it all at once just because some of my colleagues chooses to slack rather than doing their job... And getting yelled at just because I was slow... Bruh if they're so good why not they do it for us?

I am a student working in the retail for about 2 years now and have had worst experiences of life as customers threatened to call legal services and file case and whatever not when i was all alone and i was 18 back then( 20 now). Working in a corporate office for a fast food chain, and hearing stories about incidents with customers, it's absolutely horrible the way a lot of these people behave. Companies need to push back and not tolerate this behavior.
I should be honest, I never trust the word "Customers always right." Because the customer sometimes rude and just like you said, they think they owned the place. I never work in any customer service but I do need to respect the staff there because they work for hours and the results was getting treated in negative way. Manners show your true colours. No manners? No one will like you.
